Time to Vote for the October Tag
Already?!I voted...too easy. Between Fall Flurries and my TBR, spooky and crime fiction both are easy. I can just close my eyes and pick.
I am not really interested in survival as theme since I have recently read several in this category, not a genre I typically read, for example Exit West, Malevil, and 1984. I have had enough.
I am having trouble deciding what to vote for. I read a lot more survival books than I realized. Will have to think on this more.
Voted for crime, as this will be an easy month for me, although I suspect spooky might win with Fall Flurries!
Wonder who put Spooky in the Mix???? LOLI am not thrilled with any of them, but going with the one that will fit with books already in line for other challenges...
I voted for one; it was a relatively easy choice even though two are fine with me. No doubt if spooky wins I can find something funny, because otherwise for me it's btdt with spooky :).
Voted. But I’ll find something for eitherSpooky for flurry’s
Crime for an easy read
Survival for some 20th century lit(?)
I have a feeling spooky or crime will win, but for what it's worth, the survival list had a lot of surprises for me. It has some classics and popular bookclub choices, along with the disaster porn my husband likes. The Goldfinch, Nightingale, All the Light we Cannot See, Great Alone, Room, Underground Railroad (my October bookclub), Where the Crawdads Sing, Thousand Splendid Suns, Kite runner, Educated, plus The Handmaid's Tale, and it follows - The Testaments.
I'll find something either way. I might not even bother to vote... just go with the flow.
Voted. I just went with the one that has the most on my TBR within the first 3 pages. Wow, where did September go? This just seems too soon.
This looks good for spooky or crimeI'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer
Well, obviously spooky hits both the feel and the nuance of the month, and fits well with fall flurries. And this group lately has voted with broad and easy every time. But I have to admit, that I have a great crime fiction book, and I don't even tend or veer towards crime fiction. I would be thrilled if that won. And I like that its different and would expand me. But spooky is easy and fun and it fits. As long as survival doesn't win. (Wholly doubt that.) Tell you what. I will vote with one free point, and I will never tell which one i voted for. You'll have to guess, and i will be fine either way.
OK - I just did some research and I need to amend my initial thought. I have quite a few for survival too. I wasn't all that interested in like call of the wild, but I see that all my WWII and spy books are listed up there too. What is a gal to do? I am happy any way this one pans out. Starting to think it would be fun not to have the broadest tags win. And yet I always vote so conservatively and true to form, even when I think I won't. I wonder where my one free vote will actually go? Spice this one up?
Voted. Was hard for me this time. I am fine with any of the choices, just none sounded like books I want to tackle right now as I have The Red Sphinx: A Sequel to The Three Musketeers and book of Johnny Cash's unpublished poetry on my list next.
At first glance I almost voted without looking. All are interesting. One I had a lot of reads but not many TBR. The other two were pretty equal with TBR. Since my vote rarely gets picked I tried to guess what might win, but will be happy with any.
Spooky it is. One of these votes we genre/paranormal/witchy/spooky types have to win, right?!I'd also be OK with survival. And if crime wins, I do have a box I need to check for Read Harder, so I'd manage to read something, maybe.

Yes, please, we have to win sometime!
I am OK with crime, and survival might even work, but I didn't throw votes at either.
I'm good with all three, all three are vague enough to please all- but narrow enough to at least guide us one direction.
Oops, I just hit the button without adding my username - if someone's trying to match up the entries, I was the anonymous person who put +5 for spooky (seemed overdue after the last 2 votes + a very good fit for October...)

It does let you vote without your username but if that happens we have to track down who voted or it won’t count! So, be sure to fill in all of the fields! Or, if you forget you can let us know and we make note of it. People occasionally forget and we get some messages to fill in the blanks.

Cripes....do you have my name down as voting? I do not recall filling it in-but who knows
Mind Blow! I am watching Outlander! I have all 56 episodes and I have already plowed through the first five.....
Meli wrote: "Real talk... does Outlander fit all these tags??"I didn't notice any of the Outlander books on the lists, but some of them might have the tags.
Survival - Many of the books involve war or have other dramatic life or death situations, so I think the survival tag fits most of the books. Book #4 was ALL about survival in the wilderness of the new world. (I shiver just thinking about those winter scenes, and the bear!)
Spooky - Book 3 Voyager is definitely spooky in my opinion (the TV show added extra spooky stuff too). Book 2 in Paris had that herb shop that sold unusual things. Book 4 or 5 had a spooky scene with Claire in a storm, and possibly more. The other books (I read up to book # 6) were not as spooky as far as I can recall, but my memory is not terribly reliable.
Crime fiction - I don't think the books fit crime fiction as I know it. But, there are crimes in most of the books of one sort or another.
Meli wrote: "Real talk... does Outlander fit all these tags??"They are on all the lists Meli-I kept wondering why-but I guess I need to get over that-people seem to add things to list that IMO really don't belong there.
Ideally I want trim to be #1 as my book in that slot will fit any of the tags! (And Then There Were None)
Do we have a decision yet??? LOL-I am only anxious for TRIM and HORIZONS-which I know won't happen til the tag is decided!EDIT: oopsy-thought today was the 23rd..................I am going away now-to read of course

I'm an admin and I never remember exactly when the tag is announced. I was hoping for this weekend, because I have more time to do my planning on the weekends!

I think I did the same thing last month. I'm most eager to know next month's horizons tag. I'm hoping it will match one of the books I had planned for September, because I know I won't be able to read them all this week.
My Trim was finished in first week, but I still have about 75 pages in my Horizons book to read. Yet I am already anxious to know next Trim and Horizons! I am hoping for light reads as my work hours continue long.
