Thank you, Connie! I've been curious about this one for some time. Thank you for selecting it!!

Sharon,

I love that show and just rewatched Cocaine Blues. Thanks for the great pick!

Linda (rudylkr) | 716 comments Finished my first, Death, Taxes, and Hot-Pink Leg Warmers last night. I wish it had ended a chapter earlier than it did but am looking forward to seeing what happens next later this month!

Just read my two books back to back without stopping! My only complaint? seems like it was a three book only series and I am now done (sobs)

Irish Stewed Irish Stewed (Ethnic Eats Mystery #1) by Kylie Logan
French Fried French Fried (Ethnic Eats Mystery #2) by Kylie Logan
Italian Iced Italian Iced (Ethnic Eats Mystery #3) by Kylie Logan

If anyone else fancies a short culinary mystery series :D

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) | 648 comments Finishing a fifth pick from my series today (they're short) -- I'm glad to be knocking a few of these out! The Dragon Falls For The Fairy Godmother (Nocturne Falls Universe) by Larissa Emerald

Hilary, I recently read the first of her "league of literary ladies" series and really enjoyed it -- the way the "league" was established at the beginining of the book had me laughing out loud. Mayhem at the Orient Express (League of Literary Ladies, #1) by Kylie Logan

Sharon PLB (sharonlpb) | 234 comments I listen to my cozies on the way to and from work. And I just ran into a new narrator for the Agatha Raisin series. Bit of a jolt. I had a hard time telling which character was which. I hoped to get used to the new voice(s) by the end, but I didn't. I may have to give Agatha a rest for a while, like an aural "palette cleanser." Sigh ...

I love listening to audiobooks and have also had to make adjustments with narrators for Agatha Raisin. I'm not sure which narrator you are referring to. I was able to shift from Donada Peters to Penelope Keith even though I loved Donada Peters. But I refuse or maybe I should say I decline to listen to Alison Larkin. I wish I knew how a narrator is selected and how to influence that selection.

Zermeena | 726 comments I finished my first book A Dark and Twisting Path A Dark and Twisting Path (A Writer's Apprentice Mystery, #3) by Julia Buckley yesterday. I loved it - I love the gothic overtones, the romance and that Lena has relatively normal relationships with her parents. Because I've made some changes in when I listen to audiobooks, I'm not sure if I'll get to my second book this month. Sigh!

message 63: by Sharon (new)

Sharon PLB (sharonlpb) | 234 comments Zermeena, it was Allison Larkin. I made the first shift, too. But when I read your post, I had an "uh-oh" moment. I may give her another try, but Agatha won't be on my list for a while. It's a good thing there are so many cozies to pick from.

Hey Sharon, I've moved to reading Agatha Raisin rather than listening.

I've been wondering too. Hope everything is okay with Nell.

message 67: by Sharon (new)

Sharon PLB (sharonlpb) | 234 comments I may have to do that, too, Zermeena. But for the time being, I'll just listen to something else. So many series, so little time ...

Oh, no! I really like Penelope Keith. I'm not sure I'll be ready for a new narrator. I have this same issue with the Inspector Gamache books. The narrator makes the books come to life. Adjusting to a new one is rough.

message 69: by Barbara (new)

Barbara Sousa | 504 comments I finished both of my books for October (thank you, Connie, for the selection)! They were both light, fun reads. That said, it seemed odd to me that the author kept referring to one of the side characters as "Chef Claire." Considering she is becoming a friend of the protagonists, it would seem appropriate to drop her title. (There is only one Claire in the story.)

The Case of the Abandoned Aussie (A Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mystery, #1) by B.R. Snow The Case of the Brokenhearted Bulldog by B.R. Snow

Barbara, I'll second your oh no. I just realized my next Inspector Gamache book has a different narrator!

Meg (makeli2) | 1534 comments Finished the second of my series and enjoyed it. Ready for November!

Done:
Death Crashes the Party (Liv And Di In Dixie Mystery #1) by Vickie Fee Death Crashes the Party
It's Your Party, Die If You Want To (A Liv And Di In Dixie Mystery Book 2) by Vickie Fee It's Your Party, Die If You Want To (loved the play on the title of an oldies but goodies song from the 60's or thereabouts)

I recently finished the 9th Inspector Gamache novel with Ralph Cosham as narrator. I understand that the narrator changes with book 11. I am NOT looking forward to that.

message 73: by Linda (new)

Linda (rudylkr) | 716 comments Finished my second book for the month, Death, Taxes, and Green Tea Ice Cream. Love this series! I also find it funny that it's probably the series that I include most often as a choice and at one point was my inside joke that I would include it when there was another series that I really wanted to read that month since no one ever picked this one for me. Now it's been picked for me twice this year!

Cynthia | 96 comments I finished my first book. The House on Tradd Street (Tradd Street, #1) by Karen White Finally! It was a struggle; I found the main character barely likable - so much denial and willful ignorance.
