"Mother can beat me all she wants, but I haven't let her take away my will to somehow survive." A Child Called It, by Dave Pelzer, is about a little boy who is brutally abused by his mother everyday and isn't even considered a child in her eyes. He's considered a thing. I think this is a great book and it's very interesting, but I also thing that there are some topics in there that are hard to handle. I recommend this book to people of ages 13 and up. Dave Pelzer also wrote The Lost Boy and A Man Named Dave which come after A Child Called It. Dave Pelzer won The National Jefferson Award and A Child called It made it to the #1 New York Times Best Seller. "A Cild Called It was so riveting, neither I nor my staff could put it down! Dave Pelzer's story does not focus on his life-threatening plight as much as his unyielding determination that inspires us all." - Jack Canfield.

It does seem interesting and I can agree with Oscar it seem sad how a mother can call her child a thing.
Wow Alondra! Awesome review! If I hadn't already read this novel, I would be very excited to read it.
Good job with the review. This made me feel sad on how abuse not only happens in this book, but also in the world. Overall, good job.
I like your book review. I felt sad reading the part that you wrote that he is consider a thing not a person. Good book review.
