I chose the book the the invisible gorilla because the the concept of the book seemed very intriguing and dealt with certain aspects of the brain that I am very interested in. The gorilla experiment is also an experiment I am familiar with and has interested me for a long time. Being able to better understand the brain’s capabilities and how the brain can trick a person may help me better understand why I do certain things or allow me to be more self aware of the thoughts and actions that may not be fully under my control.

I am reading Sengoku Jidai Nobunaga Hideyoshi and Ieyasu: Three Unifiers of Japan by Danny Chaplin. I chose this book as I really enjoy learning about history, and Japanese history is one of my favorites. This was one of the most interesting time periods in Japan so I wanted to read this book about it.
I am reading Columbine by Dave Cullen. I chose this book because I did not know much about this tragedy, and heard that this was a comprehensive account that explains many of the causes of the event.
The Killer Across the Table- I saw it in the library with Miss Bogan and it seemed really interesting. I flipped through it and liked the way that it’s organized by case studies, as well as how in depth the author got in each of the studies.
The psychopath test. To me, the psychology of a sociopath or a psychopath is very interesting (I’m really excited for the new Joker movie). I wanted to learn more about what cause these psychopathic tendencies, but also how it can be treated/cured.
The Killer Across the Table- I am reading this because this topic keeps me interested and engaged and makes me want to keep reading. I saw it in the library and knew that this would interest me. I am interested in the thoughts behind murderers and other criminals.
I am reading Columbine by Dave Cullen. I am reading this book because I’m interested in seeing the different point of views and stories that went into the “first big school shooting”. Also because I am interested to see how Eric and Dylan thought and why they did this.
I’m reading The Teenage Brain. I am interesting in learning how to improve many of my bad habits, so I think that this may provide some insight into how to improve them.
I am reading January First by Michael Schofield. I chose to read this book because I had previously watched a interview of janni and I was interested in her story and wanted to learn more about it.
It was giving me some trouble with posting here so I may have posted this twice, but anyways...I am reading Give and Take by Adam Grant. I chose this book for 2 reasons. Firstly, I heard my classmates say some good things about the book during the in class summer reading book talks. Secondly, I had a friend who was willing to lend me his copy, so I didn’t have to find my own and could just pick it up and start reading.
My first post may have failed. I am currently reading “How I Killed Pluto and Why It Had It Coming” by Mike Brown. I chose the book because I have always been interested in astronomy and astrophysics. Since I was in elementary school, I have always been confused about why Pluto was chosen as a planet in the first place as well as what makes a planet vs a dwarf planet.
I am reading “Zen Teen” by Tanya Carroll Richardson. I decided to select this book because I am really into mindfulness and meditation and wanted to learn more ways to destress in and out of school. I think that the book will help me be more grateful in general.
I am reading “Dear Ijeawele, or a Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I chose this book because I was interested in the title and what her suggestions were. So far the book has been really interesting and helpful as well as eye opening.
I am reading What Made Maddy Run by Kate Fagan and Elena Vanishing by Elena and Clare B. Dunkle. I am reading What Made Maddy Run because I also enjoy running. Additionally, I think that mental health (especially with the stress of school on teenagers) is interesting, and is currently a gripping topic. I am a reading Elena Vanishing because I enjoy memoirs, especially about such important issues as eating disorders because it allows the reader to understand the topic from a person with that issue’s perspective, especially as this book is written with one of the author’s personal experiences.
I am reading “Elena Vanishing” by Clare B. Dunkle and Elena Dunkle, because I think it’s on an interesting topic that is generally looked over or forgotten about. I also chose this book because it is a memoir, which is my favorite type of nonfiction book.
I'm reading "Germs: Biological Weapons and America's Secret War" by Judith Miller, Stephen Engelberg, and William Broad. I chose this book because I enjoy learning about science and how it affects the world; more specifically, the idea that germs have been used for biochemical warfare is something that's been considered science fiction for a long time, so it's fascinating to see a side of history that hasn't been talked about.
I am reading “Between the World and Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates. Both Ms. Bogan and Dr. Morzzone said that this book was a must read and that it exposed to them to ideas that they had never even thought about before. This made me choose it because there is so much out there that I have no idea about and need to be exposed to.
I am reading “The Teenage Brain” by Frances E. Jensen because i think that i can learn a lot about my own brain which I can use the information to make changes to my everyday life and sleep schedule to help my self in school.
My Inventions: An autobiography of Nikola Tesla: I’m reading this book because I am fascinated and curious about the life of one of the greatest minds in history. This book isn’t a normal novel but instead an interesting autobiography about the life of Nikola Tesla, from his bizarre childhood events to his inventions that shaped the 21th century.
I am reading “A Million Little Pieces” by James Frey. This book initially intrigued me because i know little about addiction, alcoholism, and especially about recovery. The recovery part interests me the most and that is what this book said it was focused on. It has been very good so far as i have been reading.
I am reading “Quiet: the Power of Introverts in a World than Can’t Stop Talking” because though I am social, I am an introvert and want to discover new things about myself or those around that I know.
I am reading Apollo 8: The Thrilling Story of the First Mission to the Moon. I chose to read this book because outer space has always been a topic that scared me. I figured this would make the book less boring. I am interested in seeing what that first mission to the moon was like.
I am reading Unbiased by Jennifer L. Eberhardt PhD. I wanted to read this book because I wanted to be able to notice my biases and try and combat them. I also wanted to read this book because each chapter has a psychology aspect to it about where these biases come from. I don’t know much about psychology and wanted to learn more.
