I don't know haha I finished one chapter and about halfway into the second chapter... I love to write I'm just a big perfectionist and I keep telling myself I can go back and edit later but it's so hard! xD
I have written a couple books. I think they suck though so I'm re-writing the first novel in the series. I'm about 20,000 words in.
im trying to recover the book my friend lost I think she threw it away but I was so close to getting it published :(

I am five pages in so not very far! (2402 words) :DAnd, I have a question. My chapters are really short: only like one or two pages. Do you guys think that is ok? sorry for the weird question!

I think that's fine. In some books I've read, like Holes and We Were Liars, some chapters were only 1/2 pages long.

I finished a book yesterday. Don't know the word count, but it's 29 chapters, all around 2500 words per chapter.Just thought I should mention this here because I thought it might encourage people to finish stories more often. One finished story will teach you so much more than a thousand unfinished ones! :)
Hey everyone! I am so angry with my English assignment right now. We are doing that stupid, useless exam where you have to write a short story under exam conditions. Basically I get a stimulus on Monday, write a story during the week, and copy it onto exam paper on Friday in 70 minutes. HOW USELESS IS THAT?! So I'm writing a story, in a single week, and then MEMORISING it to try and replicate in an exam! Please tell me I'm not the only one out there who thinks this is silly. :/

I've been slacking with my writing so that story was just a way to get myself back on track and practice.
Thanks for all the positivity! This group is really nice. :o

If they're giving you writing guidelines for a form of *creative writing* they're already doing something wrong. That sucks how weird the education system is... Especially for the arts (English, tech design, visual arts and all that).
