Suzanne Bills | 4 comments These are a trilogy of books my sweetheart is trying to remember, so it might be doubly discombobulated, but here's what I know: The protagonist is a male with black hair and green eyes. He is raised (maybe orphan) by these sorts of wizards that worship the "lords of law", which are gods. There's another set of gods(of course) the "lords of chaos" which are proclaimed evil by the fellows raising our hero. As the series progresses it turns out that the protagonist is unknowingly (to both he and the fellows raising him) a "lord of chaos". Awkward.
There's some apocolyptic endgame going on, so once it's discovered that he is a lord of chaos, the group of people he grew up with want to sacrifice (in the literal, bloody sense) him to stave this off, or ensure a win for the lords of law. Anywho, the rest of what he relayed are scattered factoids. Protagonists childhood best friend ends up as the leader of the lords of law cult. There is a woman, evil and sneaky and quite a looker, who is with our guy for a while, but then she ends up with the best friend cult leader, where she apparently continues to be quite a nasty piece of work. There was another woman that the protagonist eventually falls for. She is described as less attractive. Go figure.
I thank any and all for reading:)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 121 comments Yum ... Ice Cream. Maybe after lunch today. Hope he enjoys.

There's also a few other series that tie in. One, the Chaos Gate series takes place in the future. Another, the Star Shadow series takes place in the past.

Mgl | 1 comments I think Time Master, Chaos Gate, and Star Shadow are the best books in the history of ever.

I just finished reading the The Lord of No Time, published by Louise Cooper in 1977. This was a single book which she later fleshed out into the three book Time Master series. It was very interesting seeing how the story started and how she masterfully expanded and refined it over time.

Interestingly, The Lord of No Time has a significantly different ending than the Time Master series, and all seven Lords of Chaos are named, which does not occur in any of the other books.
