Ceci (cecialbiceleste) | 5 comments I just cannot remember the title... I keep on thinking it was something like a Leopard's Shadow, or a Leopard's Cry or... I don't know. I read it quite a few years back when living in Israel. It's a first person narrative, told from the main character's point of view... He lived in Africa as a child and for some reason his parents disappeared / abandoned him / died (not sure about this).

He tries to solve the puzzle of his childhood, and finds out (from some old diaries or letters) that his parents are actually a nasty rapist and a girl who seeked shelter at the (mission?) the house where his parents lived, in Africa. He's always been obsessed by his mom and now realizes his mom was afraid of him as he carried those horrible genes, and apparently reminded her of the rapist.

I've tried to remember the title and searched for the book and nada... It's a powerful and disturbing read. Anyone know the title??
