Patrick (patrickreadsbooks) | 9 comments Hello!

Where do you live?

I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, South America :)

What do you like or not like about your home town/state/nation?

I do not like that people tend not to care about traffic laws and public places. Everything is a bit chaotic.

If someone comes there, when and where should they go?

I would recommend them to visit the south of Argentina (Patagonia), which is beautiful (mountains, pine woods, rivers, and glaciers!)

Any LGBTQ comments?

Most people here are open-minded (including Pope Francis!). Same-sex marriage is legal here!

~Akweley♡Mazarae♥~★☆★oblivion★☆★~I CAN'T BREATHE~ (nala13) | 22 comments I live in PA...I love the people in my life, but I hate how privagte and close-minded a lot of people in this area are, and how judgmetnal and competitive everyone is...mixed on the LGBTQ+ Front, though there are a lot of conservatives, we have supporters here too..

Hi Pudgy, welcome to the group btw. I'm in Greensbroro, right in the middle of the state. Lenior is near the blue ridge mountains, right?

I'm was a military brat when I was growing up as well. I grew up in Hawaii, then moved to Florida, then to NC. When I turned 18, I was a bit of a drifter. Lived all over the eastern seaboard, from NYC, to DC to Miami. And eventually made my way back to NC. Never been out west though, maybe one day. :-)

message 125: by Vindesyn (last edited Aug 17, 2016 08:40AM) (new)

Vindesyn | 2 comments Hello to everyone (or like we say here: Bonjour!)

Where do you live?

I live in Nîmes, south of France.

What do you like or not like about your home town/state/nation?

I like to wander in my city and look at the many traces of our ancestors (we have a roman arena, a temple...).

If someone comes there, when and where should they go?

I would recommend them to visit the city by wandering like me because the center of the city is full of wonders (hidden to the ones who visit it too fast) from the roman era to the 19th century and including the middle age.

Any LGBTQ comments?

Same-sex marriage is legal here too.

Hi Maria, my son just started a year of school in Finland - He loves it there. (Although even after 4 years of studying the language he says he needs more work to get fluent. It's his 4th language and he says the hardest one.)

message 133: by Keeloween (new)

Keeloween (keeana) Hi! Im from the beautiful Caribbean Island Jamaica, Land of Wood and Water.

What i don't like about living here is that it's a really homophobic country, but it's slowly starting to be accepting.

I recommend visiting our many beaches, especially our Dunns River Falls, you get to climb the falls there.

Ann (fwalady) | 6 comments It is such a pleasure to meet all of you. I moved here to St. Louis from Indiana almost 2.5 years ago. So, not knowing my way around really well, all I can say is we have quite a lot of fine dining. There's something here for everyone to do and enjoy.
I am a single 43-year-old pansexual woman. I have always enjoyed reading young adult fiction, and of course anything about LGBTQ I persons of any age.
We have a wonderful zoo here. The rent here is that as bad as I expected it to be. Thank you very much for starting this group. Always looking for new friends.

message 141: by Kay ☾ (new)

Kay ☾ (notkoralis) Hey everybody! My name is Kori & I am 23.

Where do you live? - Long Island, New York

What do you like or not like about your home town/state/nation? - Long Island needs more sidewalks and most New Yorkers are not friendly.

If someone comes there, when and where should they go? - The Riverhead outlets if they love to shop, Movie theater in Holtsville, and to the used & rare book store in St. James.

Any LGBTQ comments? - Long Island has only one gay bar and it needs a better parking lot.

message 142: by Kaje (new)

Kaje Harper | 17378 comments Most US cities need more sidewalks. Here in MN too (although downtown is fine. But as soon as you hit the suburbs it's all designed for cars.)

And only one gay bar? I have heard that the numbers of gay bars are going down - between online hookups and being more open in straight-friendly spaces they're less used, I guess.

I see so many gay bars / clubs when I am in other places like Florida, Manhattan, New Jersey and Connecticut... I guess I am spoiled.

I want to visit Minnesota though, I hear that Jay Cooke State Park is beautiful around spring.

message 144: by Kaje (last edited Aug 29, 2016 07:09AM) (new)

Kaje Harper | 17378 comments It is a beautiful state. Fall is actually my favorite time of year here - better weather, fewer bugs and all the colors. Spring is tricky - we get about 2 weeks of spring weather somewhere between April and May, and then it jumps from winter into hot summer. The joke is blink and you miss Spring. But it can be beautiful too.
