Nenangs | 464 comments Hello!

I've just tried to edit this book:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/14...,
to match it with the current feature of GR (i.e. authors role, original title, etc.) but it stuck.
After I've made some edit, the "save changes" button won't work, so the edit result revert to its previous entry.

Did this have something to do with librarian status? Coz I've been out of touch with librarian work of GR for quite a while. Please advise.

I reckon lot's of book from "a long time ago" entry, especially translated books, will need to be edited/adjusted for these features...

I just made some changes to it without any trouble.

Nenangs | 464 comments Yes, I see your name comes up at the top of librarian changes log.

Strangely, I still can't edit it.
What I'm trying to do are editing the title to Samurai 2: Jembatan Musim Gugur (without Autumn Bridge in parentheses), add ary nilandari as translator, edit original title to Autumn Bridge, and add the characters: Genji Okumichi, Lady Shizuka, and Emily Gibson.

Or maybe it had something to do with my computer's browser? (i.e.6)

Very likely. Try upgrading to IE 7 or 8.

I made all the edits.

Dolly (dollymart) | 25 comments I also noticed tonight that I couldn't save the changes I'd made to a book. My problem was the same as Nenangs: "After I've made some edit, the "save changes" button won't work, so the edit result revert to its previous entry."

I closed the browser and opened GR up again and still had the same problem. I just upgraded my IE to IE8, so I wonder if that's the problem. I seem to be having problems with other things (like my search engine) as well. Hmmmm. Any advice or is this a GR issue?

I had that problem last night too Nenangs.

I am experiencing the same issue. I have the latest version of IE, too, so I don't think the issue is browser-related.

Katrina (katrinastrauss) I stand corrected. I opened Firefox, and edited with no problems. Apparently there's a glitch between IE and Goodreads' edit function all of a sudden?

It does seem that way. So far everyone with this problem is on IE -- but some are 6, 7, 8.

aldo zirsov (aldozirsovlibrary) | 1 comments I do have the same problems with all of you guys. I cannot edit informations or add a cover for a book that previously uploaded, especially book's information from amazon.com (source). but I'm able to edit book's information from personal upload or create a new book. It looks like this is happened since we have a new format to add or edit a book, maybe....

Melanie♥ (meliaann) | 47 comments So glad to see these posts! I experienced this very thing yesterday on my very first edit. I am a brand new librarian and was worried I had missed something important in the procedure. I have the latest version of IE. Will move over to Firefox for now.

message 13: by Dolly (new)

Dolly (dollymart) | 25 comments I loaded Firefox and now I can edit. My hubby has been trying to get me to switch forever. Perhaps this was what I needed...

Switching to FF from IE is a good thing. ;)

However, Otis said yesterday that he had fixed this issue, so it SHOULD be possible to edit in IE now too.

Nenangs | 464 comments Thanks otis, thanks rivka.

Not that I against FF or very pro to IE, it's just that I believe that there should be no discrimination between FF, IE, Opera, GC, or any other browser available in the world...:)

ps; I do have portable FF & GC ready, just in case something like this happened elsewhere...
