Julia | 957 comments Greyweather,

You already have Children of God the follow up to The Sparrow?

I'm reading The Stars Blue Yonder by Sandra McDonald. It's #3 in the series and quite good.

Not yet no. Is it a worthy sequel?

Ron | 81 comments Just finished Haldeman's Mindbridge. Not terribly impressed.

If I may, I'd say it's an able squire to worthiness.

Julia | 957 comments Peregrine said it waaay cooler than I would have.

It's good, maybe very good. Not mind blowing like The Sparrow, but you're going to want to know about the characters and what happens...

I felt the same way when I started reading The Sparrow. I kept waiting for the let down but thankfully it never arrived. I absolutely loved it!

Lara Amber (laraamber) | 664 comments I just finished Queen Isabella Treachery, Adultery, and Murder in Medieval England, I highly recommend it for anyone who likes reading history.

Did you finish Imager over the weekend? What did you think?
I thought that there were some interesting things to think about, but in many ways that I've read it all before.

Jon (jonmoss) | 889 comments Didn't quite make it through Imager ... it was too nice outside so I spent several hours scraping paint off my house trim. :)

message 62: by Steven (new)

Steven (skia) | 104 comments For some reason I don't think of nice weather and scraping paint together. I'd much rather go out to a lake and either read outside or do some laps around the lake or something like that.

Yeah but these things have to be done. Would you rather scrape paint when it's raining cats and dogs? My parents spent the summer painting our house, especially if the sun was shining while I read (bad daughter for not helping them out!)

I really enjoyed this trilogy! Definitely worth picking up the other books if you liked the first one. I'm trying to get my hands on his other trilogy, too (Seven Waters).

Susanna (jb_slasher) The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver (I guess as far from scifi as you can get)

I'm one of those odd people that love the rain and love storms. I'll go out and intentionally get soaked.
I'll admit that painting doesn't work too well with the rain, but otherwise don't mind working in the rain.

Lara Amber (laraamber) | 664 comments You're not the only one Steve. My husband knows when it rains, there is a good chance he's getting pounced.
