Hey all, I'm Shondra Hilliard. I'm new to goodreads. I'm an avid YA, Fantasy, Paranormal, Science fiction reader and writer. I have a four, short story book series that is filled with the adventures, struggles, and triumphs of a young woman born with wings named Quilla Sparks. I love reading and I have recently published my first YA/fantasy/romance book, Broken Dreams:Xav Gauchi has had a happy childhood, with loving parents who would give him the world if they could. He is full of dreams and when he gets the chance to make them come true, he takes it with both hands: he leaves his home to embark on a journey around the land of Nalay. He wants to learn more about the kingdom and the people, so that he will make a good advisor to King Aedd once the time comes for him to take over his father’s job.
Cenna Torell is equally full of dreams, but she has been forced into an arranged marriage by her father, despite the fact that she is in love with someone else. For a moment, it seems like things will take a turn for the better; but then tragedy strikes.
When Xav meets Cenna and learns more about her life and her past, he tries to help her; but she refuses to let him. Xav, however, does not give up so easily and when the situation reaches a boiling point, Cenna realises that allowing Xav to help her might be the only chance she has of changing her fate.

What if all the myths are real? Monsters, witches, faeries. Well NEWSFLASH! They are. And I’ve been thrown into the deep end.
Before I was a normal girl, well as normal as any 17-year-old can be, but after moving in with my Grandmother everything started to change. She wasn’t as crazy as everyone made her out to be. The friends I made in school were different than the others and I fit right in.
Even weirder, the elusive handsome stranger I have been dreaming about for the past 2 years is here, and he recognizes me too. I just hope that the dreams that plague me don’t come true. Otherwise things won't end well for any of us.

Life is all about taking chances. Stepping out of your comfort zone so you can truly live. Well, I liked my comfort zone. It was cozy there, while it lasted. Invisible to those around me. My life as plain Faye was coming to an end and I was loving every minute of it. Well, the less murdery ones at least.
For me, to truly live is to love and be loved and there is plenty of that with my drop dead gorgeous bad boy at my side.

We were inspired to write this novel after dealing with mental illness stigma (especially for teenagers and young adults) and seeing how it negatively impacted our loved ones. The Clash Inside Me is a novel about a young man with Dissociative Identity Disorder who must find out whether one of his alters has committed the murder of one of the local gang members.

@MinahilUsually a good character consists of a lot of different things. Round characters always have imperfections and just a few qualities that aren’t perfect! And make sure to have the character change through out the story. They can’t be the same in the whole story because of course, people change. Hope this helps!

When you say author, does it also mean someone who writes books but can’t publish them yet? I’ve been writing a lot but I have to wait till I’m an adult. The experience of writing a novel has been so much fun, especially since I got to brainstorm ideas with my husband, who works in the field of AI. Together, we explored some fascinating ideas about technology, consciousness, and humanity, which I wove into a fast-paced YA dystopian story.
The result is Convergence, a novel about Maya, a strong and determined young woman who leaves her small village to save her sister’s life in a futuristic city. Along the way, she uncovers a terrifying plot that threatens humanity itself. The story explores themes like love, consciousness, and the moral dilemmas of advanced AI. It’s fast-paced, with some clean romance, high stakes, and a world that I hope readers will find both thrilling and thought-provoking.
