It doesn't really say what happened to their triplet other than that she died.

There is a short story that explains what happened to her and how she died and how Sookie figured it out.
If you haven't gotten to the 6th book "definitely dead" then there is a short story in "Touch of Dead" titled "one word answer" that will make the book (#6) less confusing. I really don't understand why CH left that pertinent info out.
I enjoyed the stories, and I don't like stort stories. One Word Answer is the one story you almost HAVE to have read. The rest are nice little extras. I got it from the library and these days that ought to be easy to do.
I finely read the book!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!*does a happy dance* That being said, I didn't like this book. I think it may be because Harrises writing style is so different from everyone else's that it took too long to get back into it since I haven't read any of her books since June of 2009...
I think that Sookie having the little boy (can't remember his name) is going to impact her. Hes going to be able to see whats going on in her head and that's going to be bad for someone so small with all the dark thoughts and torture and what not. Shes going to have to deal with that before he sees it. I don't think that rock bottom is going to be a long visit for Sookie.
Kinda convenient how all of Sookie's house guests cleared out all the sudden. Shes alone for the first time in a long time. Someone else is probably going to move in and I don't know that it will be Eric. That's a pretty long commute for him even if he can fly.
We still have the problems with Sam to work out as well. He was pretty pissed that Sookie is married to Eric. He doesn't trust Eric OR Bill. Sookie's greatgranddaddy does though.
Nial could have been talking about either one but I'm willing to bet that it was Eric he was referring to. Nail was scowling and grousing at Eric since he came onto the scene. At the end, he approved at how Eric handled Sookie. (Cary: Eric also killed the first Fae that came through the door. Caught him in the gut and chopped his head off)
I think that Sookie was a bit catty to Arlene in the beginning of the book. She had been friends with her for years and at one point said that she thought that Arlene considered her one of her kids. Sookie seemed pretty quick to trash talk to the other waitress about her. I think Id be upset if someone that I had been that close to decided not to be my friend anymore. Aside from the fact that Arlene set Sookie up.... I cant remember if Arlene had known that Sookie was going to die but I guess it doesn't really matter. Its bad for Arlene no matter what direction you rotate it.
Sookie and Jason need to patch things up. I understand her being mad at him but if anything this whole thing should prove to them that when it comes down to it, family is all you have and the two of them just dont have much of that left at all. Just each other and Hadleys little boy.
I wish Harris would give Jason a break. Hes been in jail so much and had so many people think that hes a killer that hes lost his job. Im getting a little tired of Jason always being the one to get the blame. At least in this book he wasnt arrested...
Me too. Although, has Jason really ever cheated on someone? I know that he dated several women but was he attached to any or were they just dates? Jasons theme song should be Whos Bed Have Your Boots Been Under By Shania Twain!I also dont think that Jason was as upset about Crystal as he should have been though. When you love someone enough to MARRY them, that emotion doesnt just turn off like a light. If she had murdered someone that might be different but she cheated. I dont know. He should have atleast been devistated by his baby dying.
I agree that he seemed very relieved on some level. He may have more of a reaction in the next book now that reality has had time to set in.
I thought Jason was pretty devastated by his baby dying. And about Crystal. I felt sorry for him even though he always thinks about only himself. And I thought Niall was unfair to him. Maybe it's because I listened to the book, but I remember the narrator's voice when she delivered Jason's lines at the crime scene... She made it sound like he was anguished, especially about the baby.
Ahhh, see, interpretation is everything. I need to re-read it to confirm, but the impression I was left with was that he wasn't as anguished as I thought he would be. Although, since it's all in Sookie's POV, perhaps I was picking up on Sookie's exasperation with him. I'll try to remember to hone in on that when I re-read for the new one!
okay regarding, the cheating in the marriage. I thought it was very unfair of Jason to put Sookie through that Hotshot ritual.
I would agree but I honestly dont think that jason knew what was involved or he would have never done it. I think his basic idea was just to get her in trouble. Sookie didnt even know what was involved. Crystal did. And she still did it anyway knowing full well that the people chosen to stand in for them would have to pay the price. Not that I would chose to do it that way but it was pretty clever to make that rule. If just you have to suffer the consequences then youre much more likely to just say to hell with it and do it anyway. But if you know that someone else will have to go though pain for what you decide, thats a different story for most people. Realizing that, I really dont like her even more now. Jason was probably just as upset with Crystal for that as Sookie is with Jason. Im hoping that the next book sets better with me because as of this last book, Im exasperated. Sookie just seems to be getting into all this garbage as well as her brother. If I were Sookie Id probably sell both houses and move Jason and myself to a tropical island . Where the days are always nice and long. Or Id move to a silver mine.
I think Jason knew what he was getting into. I am sure he was told of the rituals being a new were. I don't think Calvin would let something like that slide.
Great eyes! It did cross my mind that Bill went uninvited into Dawson's house; but I figured I'd missed some past conversation, or it wasn't detailed; given how Eric has everyone watching our for Sookie AND how the Vamps were on alert the night the Shifters "came out." I figured there had been some past invitation. Totally missed the 7N7!!! lol
Jason did not do anything to make Sookie suffer, and had no idea that his wife WOULD do something that would cause Sookie to have to hurt someone else.
I think Jason knew exactly what Sookie would walk in on, which makes him incredibly selfish. I was irritated that he didn't find some way to confront the matter himself. Using his sister as a pawn was low. I don't believe he thought the situation through far enough to consider what exacting the punishment would do to Sookie emotionally, but then Jason is never one to think of others.
Exactly. And he was sure everything would work out fine when they got married. I should'a said 'selfish thoughtless ninny.' Arranging it for Sookie to find was awful. Even if she hadn't had to do what she did.
I went back and reread that part of the book and when they were out at the Hot Shots community is when they decided that it would be Calvin that would take the punnishment for the pregnant Crystal. When Jason hears this the yells that he didnt think was the way it would happen. I understand that to mean that he was thinking that Crystal would take the punishment. I guess that was going to be his way of hurting her as much as she had hurt him without having to lay hands on her himself? I dont know becuase dont think it really says what exactly Jason was told about the process. If I am wrong, somepne please let me know where it says that because I really want to read that part. I dont like thinking bad of Jason like this...
Kenna--they don't actually SAY that he knew what the punishment would be. And he DID protest, so I'm thinking he didn't realize that that would be what happened. I think if he HAD realized he'd have come up with some other way to have her punished. He's immature and a jerk sometimes--but I think that he DOES love Sookie--at least, as much as he can love anyone who isn't HIM. I am also seeing some signs that he's starting to mature a bit in these last books, but he's still not real good at looking at consequinces and thinking things through.
When they got married, wasn't the severity of her role pointed out to Sookie? I seem to recall Calvin impressing it upon her because he presumed Jason would be the one to screw up.Maybe I'm remembering Sookie getting the info and not Jason?
As I remember it, Sookie was very aggravated because she didn't know what she was getting herself into, and as usual Jason glossed it all over in order to get his way...
Boo. I guess I gloss over the Jason parts a bit in my re-reads. Something for me to keep an eye out for next time!He just frustrates me so...
Yes, he is a jerk. And I'm going from memory, but I did listen to the last three about five or six times!
I've lost count of how many times I've read them now! It's one series I look forward to re-reading. I notice something a lil different each time. Last read, I was honing in on all the blood exchanges and trying to keep track of all of them.
I maaaaayyyy have even, um, made some notes about it. (I was having an OCD moment.)
:D Hilarious! I've done things like that, lol. I've even been thinking about buying the books, as all I have are audio.
If you get the e-books, you can bookmark and make notes right on the page! Not like me with my 900 little slips of paper...

Back to the question, is it possible that tray's tormenter's left the door open, thereby he didn't need an invitation to enter? I mean, if a vampire were to come across an old abandonded building, do they need permission to enter? In the short story LUCKY, the very newly bitten vamp takes up residence in a house that's empty and listed for sale without needing an invitation.
Jayme wrote: "If it is abandoned there is no one to ask to be invited in."I know. But in Lucky, the house is just unoccupied as it's for sale but it's not abandoned and the young new vamp didn't need permission to enter. That's why I'm saying, perhaps Bill didn't need permission to enter Tray's as no-one was home and a door was probably left open after the fight as he was dragged out. Then again, how do we know he actually went inside? Perhaps he just saw everything he needed through open windows.
