I read this book prior to 2000, I cant give a publication date or anything.

Its a series and in the first book there are two sorcerers. One male, who is paranoid and uses metals and stones or statues to trap demons and make them his servants. He thinks that this other sorcerer who is female and has the power over animals and plants is out to kill him.She's not btw, she's totally chill. Anyway he sends his most powerful demon to seduce her because if she's pregnant she'll be too busy or her power will wane till she gives birth. The demon does this and she has a son. I remember his name for some random reason, I might be wrong but I think it's Cray Oumuru. In the later series the demon who seduced his mom falls in love with her. Cray has a mix of his moms and the other sorcerers powers (because demons cant procreate that way, when the demon when to seduce his mom he used the other sorcerers sperm.)(gross much?)
