Graeme, I felt like you initially did. (view spoiler) I liked it enough to pick up Those Across the River, though, which I just loved.

I don't ever listen to audio books, not my cup of tea, but in this scenario I bet it was pretty cool! 😊

message 57: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 3903 comments Lisa and Vickie, I didn't get that at all from this on it (view spoiler)

message 58: by Graeme (new)

Graeme Rodaughan The ending is definitely polarizing.

(view spoiler)

I initially marked the book down a star for it. However this book and the Suicide Motor Club keep popping into my mind in a good way. So I revised my review and uprated the book to 5 stars.

While I disagree with the technique, I can't fault the impact of its use.

message 59: by Ginger (new)

Ginger | 3903 comments I usually rate on impact 90% of the time. Technique is just icing on the cake.
I always rate the book after I’ve read it and think, “Will I remember this plot and characters two years from now?” And if yes, it’s likely to get a better score from me. The Lesser Dead definitely check that box.

You’re right Graeme. The ending is very polarizing!

Lisa | 621 comments I love reading everyone’s different thoughts on the ending. I felt abused LOL. I really enjoyed the book overall - I want to read Suicide Motor Club, sounds like a good one.

Vickie (bookfan4ever) Oops, I was thinking Suicide Motor Club was this month.🤦‍♀️Thank goodness it's not! I was trying to find time to start it, buth then I didn't see anyone else starting it, so that clued me in. Duh, maybe I should have looked for the timeframe first.🙄 Now I can focus on my numerous other October reads, lol!

I can do anytime in November. Would the beginning of the month work for everyone?

I’m good for any time in November. Am I right that there is not a paperback version of this book? I haven’t found one yet.

message 79: by Vickie (new)

Vickie (bookfan4ever) Beginning of November works for me too! And, yes, Ginger I only read a couple chapters in, it's pretty good, but I'll hold off now.😉

Not sure Terry, I have mine as an ebook on my phone.🤷‍♀️
