According to my notes, we picked this Thursday, 10/9, to abscond at some point to the Violet Hour. Are folks still up for that? Given the time of year, the violet hour itself will be over before we even begin at Myopic. And who names a bar after a phrase in The Wasteland? Probably the owners of Violet Hour.

John, you are delightful. And it is with heavy heart that I declare myself to sick to attend bookclub OR the violet hour. Why, universe, WHY!?! The timing couldn't be much worse :(
No Violet Hour trip last night, we ended up postponing or skipping, depending on your perspective, so another time. Also, I am home with a cold today myself -- hope I didn't pass it on to anyone last night. Bleah!
I got too sick too :/ Heard it was a good group. I missed you guys. Currently trying to make my way through the non-audiobook rupetta.

Ah! I also didn't make it. I had blood taken that day and was feeling woozy. I am also in the thick of reading for a class (Conspiracy Theory) I decided to take and it is nuts. I'm reading a book a week, and they're big. I don't think I ever would have read Nixonland on my own, but I recommend it!
December book is Beyond Binary, ed. by Brit Mandelo. I plan to have some stories picked by the November meeting.
Neat! I bought beyond binary at wiscon 2013, my first. Small world. Glad it'll get some use. It's definitely the first i've read erotica for a book group.
