Sheridan (sapphirestone) | 31 comments Hi guys!

My name is Sheridan and I run the book blog I Turn the Pages . I just started blogging in July, and I've been posting reviews for a while, but I have not been getting a lot of feedback.

I hope you guys can help me with this!

I would like some opinions on my blog's design. Do you like it? Do you not (and please explain why!)? Is it hard on your eyes? Do you like the patterns?

I would also like some opinions on how I structure my posts. Do you like what I cover in my reviews? What am I missing? What should I add? Feel free to comment on my Guest Blogger's reviews as well! :)

Also, please, if you like my reviews, leave comments on the ones that you like! I love waking up in the morning and seeing that someone commented on my review, or that they thought it was a nice review. Feel free to leave your blog link here and I will try to do the same (it depends on how many people post in here, I can only get to so many in a day!)

Thank you so much!

Sheridan

Jennifer (rhubarbcowreads) I'm now following your blog. I like the look of your blog. It's nice and bright and very easy to look at. You can take a look at my blog at www.heartlandreading.blogspot.com

Sheridan (sapphirestone) | 31 comments Thank you so much! I will definitely look at your blog as well. Is there anything about my blog that you believe should be changed?

Jennifer (rhubarbcowreads) I personally wouldn't put the author as a pointed item since you have already told who the author is. That is the only thing I didn't like. You will have to tell me what you think about my blog.

Tessa | 177 comments I really like the design of your blog. It is unique and colorful, but not annoying. Sometimes, blogs have too much color that it hurts your eyes, but your blog design is the perfect balance. Your reviews are a good length and very informational.
The only thing I can think to change is the frequency of your posts. I would definitely post more often, (especially because they are all so good!) maybe twice a week. I have been trying to post more often on my blog, and I know it is a struggle. Also, you might want to add a page break to your posts so that visitors do not have to scroll so far to find more posts.
Overall, your blog is great! Good Luck!

Sheridan (sapphirestone) | 31 comments Thank you so much Helen!

I am working on trying to up the frequency of posts on my blog right now - with school it is a little difficult to do so! I am trying to read as many books as I can and schedule those reviews to go live, but sometimes Blogger does not cooperate with me. :(

Also, I was hoping to create one page on my blog as well so that the readers are not endlessly scrolling - I completely understand what you are saying! I'm just new to HTML and Blogger, and I'm not quite sure how to do that yet! If you have some knowledge on this area, I would really appreciate some help! (If you do not know how to do this, that's okay too! Your feedback was help enough! :) )

Thank you again, Helen! I hope you have a great day!

Tessa | 177 comments I will try my best to explain it, so here it goes.
If you are editing a post, look at the toolbar. Right after the button to add a video is piece of paper that looks torn in half. That is the button to insert a page break.
A page break means if you are on your home page and scrolling through your posts, instead of seeing the whole post there will be a click here to see more button.
I hope that helped! If you have any more questions, just ask.

Rachel (APCB Reviews) (gr8rach) | 160 comments I really like your blog format, it's clean and pretty and elegant. The only thing that worries me (I'm a bit of a perfectionist though) is the post format. I don't really like the centralized look. I like the cover to be big and aligned to the left with the info for the book on the right side. It allows the cover to be bigger and it just seems a bit more organized. That's just me though. I read some of your reviews, they're pretty good but the one thing about them is the length. It's a bit lengthy. There are some things I feel you could cut out, but it all depends the reviewing style you have. Great job!

Sheridan (sapphirestone) | 31 comments Thank you so much for giving me some feedback!

In terms of the cover placement, I've actually been debating that myself for a while. I completely understand where you are coming from! Right now I'm still trying to sort that out in terms of which one that I like better.

Yes, I know the reviews are a bit lengthy, and those might not be for everyone. I'm just worried about cutting the reviews too short for my own liking and leaving information or details out that really made or "broke" the book for me. I'm still trying to find the perfect balance.

Again, thank you so much for letting me know what you think!
