I feel like I read this book between 2005 and 2010.
I remember the book taking place in London on the London Eye for the marriage proposal (small chance I am remembering wrong and it was a ferris wheel). The girl makes her boyfriend earn points (1000?) in one month before she will say yes. The first thing he does to earn points is make her tea, but forgets to wipe the drips caused by the tea bag from around the kitchen. The reason she was hesitant is because he once got cold feet and she is worried it will happen again.

Spoiler alert: on the deadline day he doesn’t have enough points and is walking near the London Eye all sad. She finds him and he says that he is petrified of life without her and she says that is her fear too but can’t life without him and gives him a million points.
