I’m going to jump in here first as I didn’t want to set up additional questions for these two topics😏
Domestic abuse is explored here in the background of the central story. I thought the author did a good job of offering the children’s perspectives and using Peter to provide direction. I liked how she dealt with it.
I recognized characters from the No Evil Trilogy, specifically Quinn Peterson and Hans Vigo. I’m glad to have more dimension around Quinn and look forward to his story. Did anyone else pick up on others?

Domestic abuse is tough for the children. Bobby was a psychopath and he fed on the violence his father did to his mother.
I'm glad we went back to pick up at the beginning of the series. I want to read all of the books in the "correct" order, so I can get more perspective on the other characters.I really liked Peter and hope he turns up in future books. He was a cool character.
