what's 'tassie', Sharon? Here it's short for Tasmania, but would be spelt Tassie :)
tassie also means a small pie or tart, about the size of a small cupcake tin indent, and I've seen it used in some past time to mean a small bouquet, maybe with a fancy hanky or doily type thing on the outside. halter - really

Joanne, it could be from demitasse, which is a smaller cup, isn't it? I had a cup once called a demitasse.
Yes, demitasse is an espresso sized coffee, so it makes sense. The word 'tassie' is one I've never come across before. Good to learn new ones and their provenance!
