Kandice | 4387 comments Simon & Schuster released the titles of the short stories included in You Like It Darker. I've read four of them published elsewhere, but it's still going to be exciting to have them.

"Two Talented Bastids"
"The Fifth Step"
"Willie the Weirdo"
"Danny Coughlin's Bad Dream"
"Finn"
"On the Slide Inn Road"
"Red Screen"
"The Turbulence Expert"
"Laurie"
"Rattlesnakes" (A sequel to Cujo)
"The Dreamers"
"The Answer Man"

Valerie Book Valkyrie | 62 comments Hi Kandice, thanks for posting this list. I'm so looking forward to reading You Like it Darker along with the rest of the group in April.

Thanks for posting this....

Where were the four previously released published on?

message 106: by Kandice (new)

Kandice | 4387 comments Willie the Weirdo was published in McSweeney's Quarterly, #65
Finn was published as an ebook on Scribd
Red Screen was part of a Humble Bundle
Laurie was available as a download on his website

Others were probably previously published, but I haven't read them.

Laurie seems a bit familiar, I might have read that one but the others probably not.

Aprilleigh (aprilleighlauer) | 3 comments Is there a reason why Creepshow and Secret Windows: Essays and Fiction on the Craft of Writing aren't included on the list?

Wow! Thank you for pointing this out ! Secret Window is included in the Four Past Midnight book so we'll keep that one off. But Creepshow is now included.

Actually, the Secret Window she's referring to was a non-fiction work King released as a companion piece to On Writing. I believe it was only available from his online bookclub.

Secret Windows Essays and Fiction on the Craft of Writing by Stephen King

Being a special/rare edition, it wouldn't be included in the group read along...

Creepshow should be, but I think it was left off because the graphic novels weren't on that list.

message 117: by Aprilleigh (new)

Aprilleigh (aprilleighlauer) | 3 comments Chris is correct that I was referring to the nonfiction companion to On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft. I did not realize it was considered rare, but that would explain it.
