You may find the 'Our Books' folder has been renamed to 'Specific Book/Author Discussion'. This folder fell through the cracks a bit, with no real purpose. And now, we're revamping it.

If you've been chatting about a book in another thread, and would like to continue the discussion, or you really want someone to talk to about the book, it's the folder to go to. Make a thread, and let people battle their opinions out. Just post a thread about the book, or even author, and you can start discussing. You'll hopefully see a few new threads popping up so you get an idea of what it's about. Finger crossed, it will become a more used part of the group!

I did an audio version in the summer of 2013, but not Librivox. (Actually pre-Librivox, for me)

I highly recommend the series! It was a well-written fascinating look at the upper middle class of English society at the turn of the century. The clash of changing times was beautifully rendered. It's one of the things I'm really glad to have read, which I also really enjoyed reading.

Plus, I had put off watching the television production until I'd read the books so I was able to enjoy the mini-series, which was gorgeous and excellently acted.

So, two thumbs up. I think you'll love it.

Well, that was a great one and free between Guttenberg and Librivox. You might also consider Trollope's Palliser novels. (I read 4 this summer and am working on the last 2 to finish out the year.) Also terrific! But with a more comic relief. (Although, the parliamentary stuff can be dry, it's also interesting) there's also a mini-series for that. Much older, but excellently done. Also, Guttenberg and Librivox.

Cindy | 384 comments I just downloaded the complete works of Anthony Trollope. I am halfway through Christmas at Thompson Hall. Very interesting, just wondering what some other thoughts might be. Any recommendations on some other Trollope stories?

Hope this helps!

Cindy | 384 comments Are there any James Fenimore Cooper fans? I was thinking about reading The Spy. It seems a bit dense with the writing style. I tried to read The Last of the Mohicans but never finished it.

Just finished Mohicans via Audible. Reader was Larry McKeever. He did an excellent job. The story was great but the writing was cumbersome and redundant in many places. I'm really glad to have finally read it, though.
