The uncle wants the boy because he doesn't have any sons and he's gonna make the hero his heir. So the uncle take them to live with him and the hero grow up and after a while his mother tries to contact him but the hero doesn't want to. So time passes and his mother gets sick and he still doesn't visit herand she eventually dies. The hero goes back to the village where they used to live in on his way there he has an accident where the heroin finds him. When he comes to can't remember anything in there girl makes them believe that he is her fiancé and that they plan to marry soon because his mother left a will that says if she marries by a certain age she will inherit the house. The sister has two siblings and they don't like the hero so they try to get rid of him. First they tried to poison him with a Cake which kills the dog. And get the hero in sick. So on the wedding day they are at the church the kids pull another prank. They are planning to drop a statue on the hero which they do and It hits him on the head, which makes him remember who he is. He still go through with the wedding, and the hero takes the girl with them to London. I only remember up to that part though, it is not the ending..

Poor dog!
Bethany, around what year did you read this book?
Is this a regency romance, set in England/U.S./etc.?
