Trish (trishga) | 212 comments I just bought by daughter an older version of an Ipod Touch, and she is not able to open the Audible app to get her books. I am unaware of the version of the Audible app.

Thanks!

Goo (goob) | 13 comments Do you know what the iOS version is? You can find that by opening the Settings app on the iPod and then tapping "general" and then "about." According to the Apple app store the iOS version number should be at least 6.0.

Sandi (sandikal) | 420 comments Couldn't she just download the books to iTunes on the computer and sync it? That's what I used to do with my iPod Nano before I got a smartphone and the Audible app.

Robin P | 1730 comments I also don't see what benefit the app has for an iPod, except maybe you don't have to go through your computer. I download all my books to my computer and periodically plug in my old iPod nano, and choose which ones to sync.

Mara Pemberton (marapem) | 233 comments You need to download iTunes on your computer, plug in your iPod to your computer so that you can set up an account with iTunes so that you can download things from iTunes and you can download the Apps you want on your iPod.

Hahaha!! My older iPod won't accept updates past iOS 4.2!!

HJ My old iPod touch won't update the app, but it did instal it and it is still working. But I installed it a while ago. I would think that you should update iOS as much as you can (again, my old one won't update any more) and see if you can instal the app then.

I certainly prefer to be able to sync and download using the app and wifi.
