Yes Sheila my tastes have definitely changed over the years too. WHITNEY had rape and the consummation scene in ONCE AND ALWAYS was only slightly better, yet I've read those books a couple of times too over the years. Has I read them for the first time today I'm not sure how'd I'd feel about them.

I'm stuck at the airport now. I'm trying to download a movie to watch on the plane from Amazon. It's a Civil War romance entitled CIVIL LOVE. LOL. The download is as slow as molasses. I'm not sure it will be fully downloaded before we have to board, even though the flight is twenty minutes delayed. We're scheduled to leave at 1:46.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Your welcome Sheila. I hope you get your movie RF. lol. I went to give blood for my dr on Thursday and went upstairs their go see my dad. Yes, he's in the hospital again bc of breathing. They're saying its s bacteria infection. He will probably come home in a day or two. I'll need to
Leave in a bit to my meeting so I haven't got to read much. I took my book with me but I ran into an old friend and we caught up then they took my blood and in the way out I ran into my aunt which reminded me to visit dad. Anyhow everyone is going on planes today except me. I go nowhere but crazy. Lmao. Oh well, ladies be safe and your in my prayers.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Sheila, have you ever seen Austenland? OMG it was so cute and I wanted to be the h. Lost in Austen was cute too. They're both about a h stepping back in time. One is really stepping back the other is figuratively playing a step back into time. They were both very cute.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I found the board but did not see my pic on there. I did my boyfriend quiz and got Colin Firth...lol

That's it for today, ladies. EB you'll notice that there is a P&P variation on the list. I'm not sure if it will scratch the itch you currently have. LOL I briefly read the description and it's something about being set in an alternate universe where the gender roles are reversed...I think.

I read PHOEBE DEAN. It's one of those books by an old, established author, Grace Livingston. If you haven't read it and like authors such as JA and others, you may very well enjoy this one. PD is set in the US however. It's about a h who is raised by her aunt/uncle, or some other relatives, I think. Anyhow, whoever she's living with, she's treated by a stepchild...oh yes, I remember now. She has a stepmother. She's not treated well and then the stepmom comes up with the idea to marry her off to an old obnoxious neighbor. The H is a lawyer who lives in the city, but who has family living in Phoebe's hometown. I liked it. Anyhow, gotta run. TTYL

BTW EB I LOVED the video clip you sent me! Thanks!

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I made a board on Pinterest it's called every woman's fantasy and there are more on there. I also watched young Victoria yesterday, such a good movie. The man that played Prince Albert was so awesome. The role made him so dashing and romantic. It was on ovation. There are some clips from the movie in the board on Pinterest. Thanks for the P&P variation but sadly there is no D&E it is Georgiana and miss Bingley matching up with Bennet boys. Lol. I don't like how they listed JA as the author along with them it's confusing. She also did not write it or it just be the same story she's just using the same characters I guess. I have a new client and it's a full time client.

Sorry about the P&P book. That's awesome about your client! I will have to check out your Pintrest board when I get a chance. YOUNG VICTORIA? Is that the name of the movie? I never heard about it before.

So far I haven't read a word. It's been that way for quite a while now. I thought I was getting back on the horse when I read that Milan novella a week or so ago, but sadly that was not the case. I've just been so bloody busy. I'm sure I'll get back into it once I get a moment's peace, or once I find a book that I just can't resist. LOL

What you reading now?

message 3717: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I sent it to your email you can download it for free on your kindle fire. That's awesome. I really thought it was romantic how he loved her. The fact that he protects her when the people try to attack her. You know mw with a protective H and the fact that he's tailored so nice in his clothes just make him so attractive to me. Anyhow let me know if you watch it bc I think you'd enjoy it.

Hey EB! I got your email. Thanks! Unfortunately, that movie is not one of the ones that I can watch for free with my Prime membership. I have to rent/buy it just like anyone else. Ugh! Anyhow, it's only $2.99 for the SD version so that's not bad. I still have quite a bit of GC money. I love the period movies too. I actually have one listed on my watchlist...CIVIL LOVE. It's a romance set during the American Civil War. That one is actually on the Prime list so I can watch it for free! Yay! LOL

I had my eyes checked today. There have been minimal changes, so no bifocals. I was convinced I'd need some. LOL I'm kinda crazy I know. You working today?

message 3719: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Watch ovation too they repeat quite a bit. I'll keep an eye out too but 2.99 to own it isn't bad.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Hey RF I checked and The Young Victoria is on Ovation on the 15th on a Saturday at 1:30-3:30 in the AM. I thought maybe you could set your DVR or something. Going to see if my dad will burn me a copy.

message 3726: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments OH! I did the Warrior Dash once and LOVED IT! You are going to have a blast! The one for Louisiana is usually in October. I don't think I will have the time or money to do it this year. I've been doing couch2 5K LOL! So I am on week 4 right now! Going strong three times a week. Results are slow but I am seeing them!

message 3727: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments What's couch2 5k? Lol. That's what I need is results

message 3728: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments I will let you know what my weight total is tomorrow. I weigh on Friday's. Last week showed 6 pounds so far. Not a lot of weight, but as long as it keeps adding up, I'll be okay because I feel like I am starving!!!

I actually stopped eating after 6pm because of a major heart burn attack a few weeks ago and I like my spicy food too much :(

couch2 5K is an app I downloaded on my iPhone! I use it while on the treadmill! It builds you up gladly to jogging a full 5 K.

message 3729: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Wow that's great. I'm not a runner. My niece goes to planet fitness and I've been tagging along. I'm doing a 1200 calorie diet and I start tomorrow so I will not weigh myself again until Friday. I'm doing protein shakes.

message 3730: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments Good for you EB! You are being better than me! I do weight watchers lol!! I am going to be a bad bad girl this weekend though because it's my birthday weekend!!!!

message 3731: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments 8 or 9th? Well on bday you have to it's a given. Lol. I want to lose 10 pounds a month. I think one cheat day a week is reasonable. I mean a treat or maybe one meal or something. We shall see it's only if I get the right results. Lol. It's going to kill me only weighing myself one a week bc I get obsessed and want to weigh myself every morning.

message 3732: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments Me too!! Haha and it's the 11th. I like a whole month really Hahahaha

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Hey gals! RF earlier this year I read a book I tried to get you to check out in which the H was a virgin. Any chance you remember the name of it? It's not song for Sophia, there's another.

Hey EB! Thanks for the info. I will set the DVR to tape. I don't know why, but I haven't been receiving notifications from GR. I just finally got an email and when I logged on I find that you and Rachel have been going at it for quite a while. I've been missing out! :-(

I'm reading nothing! Not yet, at least. Hannah's bday party is today, and this past week I had a few things to do to prepare for it. I also had to have follow up labwork done and had an appt. at the eye doctor. I went to BJ's yesterday and got two pairs of prescription glasses for under $200! Quite a steal! LOL They are having a 50% off sale right now, which ends on August 11th.

Hopefully after today I'll be able to start reading again!

message 3737: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Oh to get excited about bargain glasses. Lol. I hear you they are expensive but I wish I didn't have to have them at all. I envy people with 20/20. Now my dr says to be prepared bc soon I will need bifocals. The hell you say!! That sounds like I'm getting older or something! Im still young so keep that to yourself doc. Lol. Today is the warrior dash and I am pumped! Look for pics on Facebook later. Also did you see my question about a book we read or I read that the H was a virgin besides song for Sophia?

Good luck! You're my shero. LOL I hear you about the glasses. I too thought I'd need bifocals this time around, but apparently I'm nowhere hear that requirement. I guess it was my hypochondria kicking in. LOL

Sorry I didn't respond to your question about the H. Was it a regency with a young duke who was a hero when he and the h married? As a matter of fact they were both virgins and that plus misunderstandings resulted in them being separated for a year. I'm trying to remember the title...ah yes, CHRISTMAS SEDUCTION by Samantha Holt. I did end up reading that one. If that's not the one you're talking about the I can't remember which one it could be. Do you have any details that could possibly jog my memory?

BTW if I'm out of contact for a while today, it's Hannah's bday party, so I'll be in touch later.

message 3739: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Happy bday to Hannah! I will check Christmas seduction. I read that one. Let me see if that's the one. Umm that's not sounding familiar. It probably isn't CS because he was definitely very young; early twenties and the h was about 18 or 19, the usual.

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 102 comments Here is one of my all time favorites by the woman who invited her readers into the bedroom for the first time, Kathleen Woodiwiss: Shanna

Yes, steamy and, oh, so romantic. It is very old (It says 2007 which is the year she died, but it was published in 1977 - I looked it up) and stays in my memory. Can't remember how many times I read it.

Have you read any of hers? They are all just great!

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Okay Sheila I finished Nordin's book 2 in the deceit series and it was good but I still like book 1 better. I f you would like to burrow it let me know I can see if it's a loanable. I like when you can spare the pocketbook and still get books. I have a doctors appointment this morning and I'm going to workout at the gym but on the way stop at the library and get the Woodiwiss books they have for me. I also have an author who is going to give me an arc for her books if they meet the criteria of must haves in a book. I wanted to be fair and not waste both our times. LOL. Hey let me know when you finish Nordins book I'm curious to hear your thoughts. I hope you get this bc I couldn't find the link o Amazon that we talked on.
