I'm so jealous you got to go get drinks. We have a Mexican place around me to it's called El Jalepino and last time I went my waitress ruined the whole experience. Some drinks would have helped but I was with my baby niece and her mom. We had a good time but it definitely wasn't the place or the service mainly my company. Lol. I'm glad you guys went out you guys needed it. I hope your still squeezing in some good books. I finished Grey. When are you going to read it?
Happy 4th, ladies! EB sorry you have to work, honey. I hope you have a good day. Rachel, glad to hear you found time to hang out and have fun with your hubby. Now I'm off to have lunch with my hubby WITHOUT the kids!!!! LOL TTYL
FYI if you didn't get a chance before, check out the freebie list I posted yesterday evening.

Oh I don't mind working today it's double time. I liked the end but I wasn't blown away by it. You do get to see C struggle with the consequences of his observed life style and that was a treat but idk I thought there would be more with Elaina than there was. She was like a mother hen in book 2 a deranged perverted mother hen but I think the second book will be better. It was in the original too
Hi ladies! I hope everyone had a great 4th. It's raining here again. I also ended with a swelled up eye. I thought it was pink eye but it turned out to be allergies. Stupid weather!
Hi ladies! Sorry I haven't been around. I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. We had a great time; a lot of family came down for the holiday and a number are spending the entire week. I've been busy running around with the kids going to the beach etc. NO the family is not staying with us; well all except my in laws. We live in a beach town where a lot of members of my husband's family owns beach cottages or live all year round, so when the holiday hits everyone who doesn't live closeby comes down for the holiday. It's nice, but a bit overwhelming at times. Anyhow, since we're only here for another week, I'm making sure the kids get in their "cousin time." LOL
I haven't been reading, needless to say; neither have I been checking for freebies. Sorry! Sigh! If Kate hadn't taken the summer off she'd have fired me for sure. LOL

I've emailed her a couple of times with freebies I knew she wouldn't want to pass up. She's busy, but doing good. A lot of family around for the summer and she's been going to the beach a lot. LOL
Which book did you just read, and what party are you having on Friday? Seems every time I turn around you're having a party. LOL

Hey guys! :D I hope you ladies had a good and happy 4th of July! I had a nice long weekend. My husband was home to annoy ... I mean LOVE me for an extended weekend. I am already ready for another break lol! I hope everyone is doing well!!!
I had a good 4th I got home from work and the first firework went off as I pulled in my drive. We only have to walk across the street and can see them from the park. Lol.anyhow I am on my second day of cleaning my house. My living room and playroom look so nice. I even scrubbed the carpet on my hands and knees while my kids gave the dogs a bath. They were such a big help to me. Of course the playroom is all their crap so that is what took us the longest. We went through all their stuff and got rid of a whole garbage bag full of stuff. It sure looks good now though. Okay I'm going to start on the kitchen and bathroom after I finish my coffee.
RF I had to cancel my last party bc of the rain. I am trying again bc my nephew is back from Japan for two weeks so I want to get together while he's here. He's in the Air Force. I have been reading a couple of old books I've enjoyed in the past when I've gotten the chance. I tell you I have been cleaning like a fool. My house is finally scrubbed from ceiling to floor all that's left is the laundry. Tomorrow I need to go down and mow down by the river and tonight I'm going to get things for the party. I have cooking to do but that is all. I read Keira Montclairs new book you know what a nut I am with her books. It was a CR. I now started a book from Ayr Bray she does P&P variations and I have been on a Darcy kick again. Lol. Yea I haven't heard anything from Kate I emailed her and she responded a little on here but then was MIA again. I talked to Judy on one of my reviews and got caught up but it's been pretty quiet. I seen Lark talking with others in a comment thing I responded to on Amazon but I didn't respond. We're not that chatty anymore anyway. I hope you have fun at your moms

Hi EB! Sorry I haven't been around much this week. It's been really busy since the 4th holiday. The kids and I went to a movie today with friends. Then the three of us had lunch and ran a few errands. I had to book Hannah's bday party for when we get back from FL. She'll be having it at Michael's. Did you know they hosted birthday parties? I didn't! I just found out a couple weeks ago. She's excited because she's really into that arts and crafts stuff and they will be making fairy houses for her party. LOL
I hope your party doesn't get ruined this time! It sounds like you've been crazy busy around the house; yet still you find time to read! I'm so proud of you! LOL As for me, it's not that I couldn't make the time, but when I do find a few minutes I can't get my head into it. I too have been rereading favorites--at least the favorite parts of old favorites--just to satisfy the need to read. Believe it or not I still have not finished the book I was reading, TETON SUNRISE! Anyone would think the book sucked and that is so not the case. It's actually really good. I just have to make myself finish the last few chapters and be done with it. As for reviews; I haven't written on in weeks!!!

Aww RF I did download TS too I just was wanting a P&P vary lately and it's been a while since that's happened. I am enjoying but now I'm shopping and waiting for food at Eat N Park. I got Chicken Bruschetta and the salad bar yum! Finish your book so I read your review
Alright my historical ladies ... which one of you guys is a Julia Quinn fan/?!?! I had a question about one of her books! LOL EB - by the way, I am jealous I can't be at your party!
Thank you I wish could have been with us too. I drank a little bit but I had some old friends come and we had fun catching up. It got chilly so the fire felt good. I feel like I live in the desert bc it's so hot during the day and so cold at night but it's so wet there's no way it's a desert. Lol. I have read one book from London I liked it. Everyone just left and food is all put away.
I misread that Rachel I had Julia London in my head but I think I have a Quinn story here. For some reason I'm thinking its a book that has three different authors and three seperate stories. I can't really say if I liked her or not.
Ooh I just thought maybe I'm thinking of a different author. There is an author who right the Scottish based histoicals named Paula Quinn and I have read several of her books some good some not so good.
Hi guys! Sorry I have been MIA, but it was a crazy last few days before I headed to FL. We arrived on Tuesday. The flight was delayed and by the time I got to my Mom's it was after eleven. Long story short, I didn't get to bed until after 2a.m. yesterday morning, so yesterday was a day of recuperation. I got caught up on some sleep last night, but am still feeling a bit tired.
How are you all doing? I hope all is well. EB, I'm thinking that you're probably busy with the boys being home from school. That has certainly been the case with me. Anyhow, I'll try to be better about keeping in touch. I'll be heading out to take the kids to see The Minions in a bit. TTYL!

Hello RF I have been pretty busy. I've spoke a little with Rach but she is busy too, I think. She cracks me up everyday I get her updates with her crazy books that I've never heard of but some have caught my eye so I'm with you girl! I also had a publishing company ask to review a book and let me tell you it has had me wrapped up when I can get a chance to read it. Its calledTrail of Kisses. It's an historical western about a father, who is a judge, sending his daughter west by wagon train. There has been threats made on her life by a band of outlaws. The daughter is strong and stubborn but is close with her father so she misses him but in his stead is a worker named Cade who is guarding her. He is very protective. Oh and he's hot. The book has already been out so I don't think I need to keep it hush about it. It reminds me a bit of Catherine Marks but I think it's because of the setting. The writing is really good and both H/h are good characters. I feel like I'm right there on the wagon train with them and I love when a writer can do that to me. Anyhow, I am jealous of your whereabouts but it is sunny here in Ohio, for once. I hope you get your reading in now. Did you get to finish TS?

Hi EB! I figured you've been busy. I actually have the book you're reading. Of course I haven't read it as yet. LOL. As for TS, NO I haven't finished it as yet! Can you believe it?! It's such a shame, but I've been super busy. Getting ready for the trip and preparing for an extended absence from home took a lot of time. And since we've been in Florida we've been quite occupied. I've also been super tired and last night I started to feel like I was getting sick. I think I'm fighting off some kind of virus, or maybe it's just because I've been so tired. I cancelled the plans we had for today so I could get some rest. The kids were disappointed because I was supposed to take them to the pool. Oh well. I'll have to make it up to them tomorrow. Today is the first day in weeks that I've done nothing but sit around and chill out!
I haven't really been reading, other than favorite parts of old favorites books. I think I'm in the mood to return to Regency, England. It might be finally time to read my first LK novel!
How ru doing? How's your hubby and your dad? And how r things going with the property you were getting fixed up?

Well, my hubby gave his blood and goes back to his doc on the 29th. So we'll see then what's what. The rain has delayed anything being done on the roof but soon that will taken care of. I have a new male client and they've given me more hours with him. I have had a good start with him I think his kids tell me how stubborn he can be but I think he's starting to let me do more for him so today went well. The kids have been a big help with the housework so all I have to focus on mainly meals and laundry. My oldest has even been helping with laundry too. It takes some stuff off me. I'm glad to hear you got the book I'm reading maybe you'll find some time to read it. It is well written and the chemistry between the H/h is very believable IMO. It comes across as playful and natural not every author can accomplish that. Anyhow I am glad your situated in Florida and taking some time for yourself. I got TS too when it was on the free list. I think Rachel was asking about an author a week ago that writes HR but I have never read anything by them, Quinn is the last name. I've read Paula Quinn who does historical Scotland not England.
Rachel wrote: "Alright my historical ladies ... which one of you guys is a Julia Quinn fan/?!?! I had a question about one of her books! LOL
EB - by the way, I am jealous I can't be at your party!"
Hi Rach! Sorry I'm just responding to your comment now. I just read it. I'm the Quinn fan. What's up? You probably already got your question answered by now, though.

Well hopefully your husband will get good news re his health. We had a bit of rain in MA too before we left, but overall the weather was much, much better than it was earlier in the season. It's hot here in Florida, as usual. We pretty much get rain everyday, but it usually only lasts for an hour or two and then it's over. It's actually nice because it helps to cool things down.
I'm going to finish TS today, I think. I have to. I'm ready to read a regency, but I feel like I have to finish that one first. Besides the book is really good. Yes I'm the Quinn fan Rachel was looking for. We've discussed a few of her books in the past. I've never read Pamela Quinn though.

She has quite a few my favorite by her was lord of desire(Warner forever). It's got an evil villain and I liked the feel between H/h too. I got her books out from the library and know there were others I did like but none stick out as plain as the one I mentioned. There were some that were boring from her but every author has that. Keira Montclair just had another Grant Clan book come out so that is my next book after this one. I'm glad TS is good that gives me yet another good read to attack after. Lol

Haha if anyone is following me they'd think it sucks, the length of time it's taking me to finish the book. But it really is good. The H is very protective of the h. Thanks for the tip re your Quinn. My Quinn is a fantastic author. She writes mostly regency.

I just got off of a Darcy kick and I found it refreshing to be back in England. I've been all over if someone followed me their eyebrows would be in their hairline. Lol. I go from Killer to Stalker to Darcy and now the west after over to Scotland and then wherever TS takes me. Also in between let's not forget my dabbling back into high school to college. Lmao. I think it would be interesting if these publishing house and authors would offer moola. I do it for pleasure and I like being able to offer help but let's be honest. Wouldn't that be a great job RF? Ooh and I also have a book from KS reading to get to too. Lol. Help I'm drowning.
Hey guys! RF - welcome back LOL! Summers are probably super busy for ya'll with the kids out of school for the summer. Totally understandable. I have been working a bunch as usual - no new news or anything lol! RF - yes - I had a question about that author and now I need to find out why HAHAHA I'll look that up and then ask my question.
EB - you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I also agree with you about that dream job. Geez. I would LOVE that!! I wouldn't even mind reading that horrendous books either LOL!!!!
RF - Okay! I remember now, did you read ...
? I was wondering what your thoughts on it was in regards to being safe for me if you did read it. I know it has kids in it hehehe
Rachel you are very precise in your tastes in books and therefore will have to be more specific about that horrendous book. Lmao. I am sometimes more lenient if it is done right where you show no mercy. Lol. That must be your RN showing. You have to make those snap decisions continuously to decide the best solution. I am assuming you are referring to Killer and Stalker as they were totally out of my norm but it was such a wild and exciting ride for me. And girls let me tell you yesterday CW had this post of this hunk in wet underwear and lord have mercy I tagged Aspoon in it once my eyes were back in their sockets. The woman had no restraint she just keeps pushing her boundaries. Lol. Her fans offer her much encouragement it seems but let me say for me I'm pulling a Rachel and jumping ship before I'm in over my head. Definitely not a softer, sweeter read.
If your curious about said photo go to Clarissa Wild's home page and find the man with the white, wet underwear(swimwear, who the hell was paying attention to his bottoms) ROTFLMAO!!!
LOL!!! Actually, I meant THOSE horrendous books meaning I would love a job like that even if it meant reading books that I know I will hate hahahaha not that YOU are actually reading something horrendous. Serious typo there hahahaha Sorry!!!!
Oh no I did not take offensively my niece that read her books hated the ending. She told me that she should not have left with him. Me, looking for anyway to leave it romantic thought they deserved the other. I wouldn't have chose him but I also wouldn't have poisoned people like she did. Looking at as a objective POV I thought they suited one another. He did have that confidence that is super sexy though.

Haha Hi EB! Are you not having a good summer, weatherwise? It's beautiful here in sunny FL. The state is certainly living up to it's name. LOL We get a bit of rain most days, but it usually only lasts for an hour or so and then it's over and done with. We've been keeping super busy. My brother's kids are here, a niece almost 18 and nephew almost 14. We've been getting out and about...pool, beach, movies, etc. It's been fun, but I'm tired! LOL I have been trying to keep my kids to a regular schedule, bed by 9, so that they can be up y 7-7:30. I think it will make it easier to transition back to a back to school routine. Plus they keep me so busy during the day that I'm pretty much pooped by ten 0'clock.
BTW Rachel, I'm so sorry. I thought I'd responded to your question before...no, I never read that Julia Quinn book you were asking about. There are many of hers that I never read. I think she wrote a bunch of them during my law school days, back when I had absolutely no time to read. Anyhow, gotta run. I'm going to get the kids showered and ready for bed. TTYL!
Miss you EB!

Well hello there stranger. We actually have sun in our forecast this week. This summer has sucked weatherwise but I'll take what I can get. I've been super busy myself and am almost done with it. They're ripping my roof apart Thursday.

Finally they're getting the roof done! I'm sure you can't wait for it to be over. LOL Enjoy the sunshine while you can. I'm not sure what the weather has been like in MA since we left. I've spoken to Bri everyday but strangely I haven't asked about the weather. I guess it's because he's working and it doesn't really matter. I'm waiting to get the kids to bed. They are all showered, teeth brushed etc. I'm just going to read them a bedtime story and that's it!!! We went to see Ant Man today. They both loved it. Lucian said it was awesome! I'm so happy that we're at the stage where I can take them watch non-animated movies. Hannah asked if I'd take her to see the Fantastic Four when it comes out. Yay!
Not sure what we're doing tomorrow, but I'm thinking I need a mani/pedi. Maybe I'll take the girls so that we can all have that done. Anyhow, I'm glad things are going well for you. I really do miss our chats. :-(

I know summer has scattered all of us. Miss you too. I rented some movies from redbox with my niece and we got The Loft ( good movie, wow) Focusis a spy movie that we just started but the one I can't wait to see The Kingsman with Colin Firth as a spy. I wanted to get Morticai with Johnny Depp(yum). I love his movies
Hey RF! That's okay, I figured I'd ask you since you are the super fan and all! Lol!! Omg, you are on vacation without your husband?!? I've never gone anywhere really without him. I would feel naked I guess lol!!! How is that going? It sounds like you ladies are having a great summer! I am just working a lot. Maybe in a few weeks, I'll take a few extra days off :)

Hey Rach! Yes I'm sans hubby, but we're used to it. We were long distance for a few years while I was in law school. Then later, after the kids came along, I'd take them to visit with family while Bri worked...I mean somebody has to. LOL With me being stay at home, and us living out in Cali while the rest of our family lived on the east coast, the best way to keep up contact and ensure the kids knew their relatives was to bring them out for a few weeks every summer. Now that I live in MA, close to Bri's family, I bring the kids to see my parents for a few weeks each summer. It's pretty fun and something they look forward. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to do it...depends on what happens with work. BTW it's good to work and earn that money, but make sure you have some fun as well!!!
EB sounds like you've been on a movie kick. What fun! My niece wants to see Inside Out, and Hannah has been begging to go see it again, so I think that will be our next movie. :-)

I want to see the minions. Our drive in is playing that with inside out but I have been so busy I haven't had a chance. The rain is not cooperating either. I just finished my book and will probably start that new Keira Montclair book I bought a few days back. 7:30 am they will start our roof. Oh what fun. Lol

OMG EB! What a fantastic double feature! We loved both of those movies. We're going back to see Inside Out again later today. Right now we girls are getting mani/pedis. :-) I'm glad you're finally able to get the work done on your roof. I hope the weather stays good for the duration.
Have a great day at work, Rach!

Yeah all the movies we got were good movies. FYI/SPOILER Kingsman Firth gets his head blown off. I'm like NO! Samuel Jackson was hilarious bc he spoke with a lisp. I was cracking up. The movie had some original ideas and had some perverse things toward the end. Lol. Focus has Will Smith in it and he's a con artist and falls for this woman and was really cute and funny. The other one was the Loft and you guys would have been so pissed. These 4/5 men go together and rent a loft to take their whores back to. Now the one guy gained his key at his wedding reception. Is that not disgusting! These men had no respect for their wives for the most part. Some may have had reason but he chose to stay with her so it was sick. It was suspenseful and had a cool ending.

Ugh! The Loft does sound disgusting! Funny thing, I'd rather watch shows like that rather than read them. I get way more invested in stories that I read vs those that I watch. That's probably why I'm way more particular about what I read than watch.
Anyhow, I finally finished Teton Sunrise!!!! It was way good. Definitely worth the read. When I changed the status today on GR, from currently reading to read, I noticed that I started it on June 23 and finished it today, July 23. Quite a coincidence, huh? I did remove the dates, however, because they are misleading. Someone might think it took me that long to read because the book was uninteresting, which it absolutely wasn't! Besides, of the entire month, I think I only spent a total of five days, if that, actually reading the book...which for me is a pretty long period of time.
I started Courtney Milan's UNLOCKED. It's a novella...just under 200 pages. I'm just about finished with it...since I was in the reading mood today, I decided to take a day off from outings and stay home and read instead. Yay!
Rach, what ru reading now?

Hey babes!! I am not being very good on here lately! LOL I have just been so busy and all my free time, I hope to finish whatever book it is I am trying to read. I just finished
- it was good for a western, but it kind of fell a little flat for me. I LOVED LOVED the kiddos. They were freaking adorable and my favorite part. The hero though took way too long to accept his feelings for the heroine. HE was great and all, but he could have realized quicker AND I feel like there could have been more intimacy between the two. The sexual chem was off the charts! Anyways! I hope you gals are reading some good stuff!!!! I don't know what I feel like reading next. :) I actually don't have to leave for work until later tomorrow morning so I'm happy about that :D
