Ah yes. The weather here has been on and off; one minute it's beautiful, the next it's raining cats and dogs. Sometimes they predict rain then it turns out nice. You never know what's going to happen. Tomorrow is supposed to be okay, but we're expecting a storm or some kind on Sunday. Have a nice dinner with your sweetie and fam. TTYL!

Hey EB! Bad news...my library does NOT have ANNIE'S SONG!!! :-( There's still hope for me though. I'm heading to FL for three weeks in a couple of weeks. I'll check the library when I get there. Hopefully they will have a copy. I've been in the mood to read that book ever since you told me about it. The one I'm reading now, TETON SUNRISE, is really sweet, and TOTALLY SAFE, Rachel!

message 3503: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments hahahhaa! I will add Teton Sunrise to my list. Is it a novella? Is it a freebie? And POO! about your library not having one of my favorite books of all time. I freaking LOVE Annie's Song. *sighs*

Yes Missy, TETON SUNRISE, is a freebie. It was on our list a couple weeks ago. LOL. Anyhow, it's still free. Here's the link. FYI it's about 180 pages in length.

Hey EB I hope you're having fun with your family! Have fun at your work party, Rachel!

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Hi ladies!! I had a good time catching up with my cousins. My nieces stayed the night and we cooked a casserole for the kids today bc I go into work later. I'm going to read until then bc it's been like two days since I've got a chance. Ana is getting ready to leave for Georgia so I am curious to see what Mrs .R advises him about Ana. Remember in the original he tells Ana how he ate dinner with her and told her about Ana. I'm curious to get an inside look at what she says bc she wanted C but he couldn't see that.

Rachel | 443 comments Hey ladies! I had a blast :) trying to recover today lol! I downloaded that freebie on kindle and nook hahaha and I can't wait to hear how that scene plays out EB. I don't remember that part in the books. It's been so long.

That's because he's a man and essentially an idiot when it comes to women! My husband was like that too. I remember before we got married, there was a co-worker that he'd talk about from time to time. I hadn't met her yet, but from the things he said I could tell that she liked him. When I told him to be aware, he told me I was mistaken. Needless to say, I was proven right! Men! So clueless! LOL

Glad you were able to get the book, Rach. How was your party?

Elizabeth wrote: "I know but Ana was niave too. I heard her tKe it was what was left out that interested me."

Haha EB! You say naive; I say STUPID! LOL Glad to hear your visit with your family went well. RU at work now? I have another busy week this week. Lucian has a second week of camp, they both have swimming everyday, and Hannah has a couple of playdates. I'm tired just thinking about it. LOL What have your boys been up to this summer? Can I look forward to more freedom as mine get older? :-)

message 3512: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Yea I get off at 11pm. I read the C and Mrs. R part it wasn't much but Rachel you should know on his flight to Georgia C has a dream on the plane. It is a dream of when C was Elaina's sub. It was brief but I hated it. When Ana confronts him about the dinner and asks if he loved her he is thinking I worshipped her. Eeww. Hated that too.

message 3513: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments What percentage are you on? I guess I would expect that initially (because you remember how long it took Christian to come around) he would still be confused. Honestly, I believe Elaina abused him and so it was a case of him being infatuated with her in that way. It's truly sick and he just doesn't see that yet.

What does he tell Ana when she asks him that? Does he say, no he didn't love her and think in his mind that he worshipped her? Past or present tense?

message 3514: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments He thinks in past tense I think I just thought you'd want to know.

message 3515: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments Okay, that's a little better. I was thinking he was thinking in his mind "I worship her" like NOW. What does he tell Ana? And yes, I would like to know. The more I know the better so I can prepare myself LOL

message 3516: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I went back and checked he thought I fucking worshipped her. In his dream E runs her nail down his chest as he's restrained and tells him if he's a good boy she'll let him come in her mouth. Anyhow He tells Ana no he never loved her. I'm at 75%. He also tells her she looks good as ever when he first meets her for dinner which is normal but I just cringed. I hated that woman with a passion and would have liked to see more finality between her and C than what we did.

message 3517: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments I hate her too. She is a sick twisted bitch. So he tells her about Ana? She must get really jealous huh?

message 3518: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Oh she finds out from his mom. Emails him but a couple days before this she says she has a woman that can meet his needs if he'd like to meet her. Even after she learns about Ana she still asks so do u want to meet this woman I mentioned. His response is I think I'll let this one run its course. So crass.

message 3519: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments Yes, but in this case, I feel like he is still trying to be Mr. tough guy and he doesn't want E to think that she is anything special right now - at least that's what I think. I heard that his reaction to Ana leaving at the end, makes this book worth the read.

message 3520: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I'm not saying that he isn't into Ana bc it's obvious he is and doesn't know it. He doesn't understand what is changing in him. It's just hard bc it really let's you get a closer image to the way things were and it bothers me is all

message 3521: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments Yes and from what others have told me they felt the same way but his reaction when she leaves him is what people love and you can really see how much he adores her at that point. Let me know when you get there! LOL YOua re getting close!

Good morning, ladies! Here are a few freebies I found today. This first one is a time travel, romantic suspense. Please be aware that it is the first in an ongoing series, and ends in a CLIFFHANGER!

http://smile.amazon.com/Final-Hours-L...

http://smile.amazon.com/UNDERGROUND-C...

http://smile.amazon.com/Ladys-Ghost-C...

http://smile.amazon.com/Across-Wilder...

UNDERGROUND CAPTIVE is set during the 1850's. The H is an underground railroad worker and freedom sympathizer. He is also on a mission to avenge the murders of his wife and best friend. He believes the h's brother is responsible for the murders and his vengeful quest eventually leads him to the h.

THE LADY'S GHOST is about a h who is widowed and penniless. Her brother then dumps her off in a pile of rubble to survive. The H ran off after his fiancee is killed and he is accused of her murder. Everyone believed he died. Now he is back try to find the evidence that will exonerate him only to find the he living in his home. He pretends to be a to try to scare the h off, to no avail. LOL

ACROSS THE WILDERNESS is an American historical time travel romance. It's about a modern day female doctor who travels back in time and finds love with a Native American warrior. BE AWARE that this book does not end with a HEA. Apparently the h chooses to return to her time and "raise her child" without the H. According the blurb for the second book she "returns to the past and her life" with the H.

That's it for today, ladies! As you've probably noticed, lately there is no rhyme or reason to the lists. LOL During the school year I usually get it done very early, but now with the kids at home for the summer my schedule is pretty hectic and unpredictable, especially these first few weeks when they have camp/swimming lessons. I probably wont be doing a freebie list everyday, but will try to get one done at least every other day. The HR section has been slim pickings lately. I will do a CR search later or tomorrow.

message 3524: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Hi guys! I finished Grey. I need to say Rachel that the ending did not really have much effect on me. Yes, I liked to see his icy heart thawing out it was like eh?! I get more stimulated by their confrontations. The moment they're reunited by Jose's showing. I'm sure he'll have inner dialog than and this book of course ends the morning of their date.

The nightmares intrigued and broke my heart for C. Poor 4 year old boy. You also already know that he still struggles so there's more. Oh and there is one scene when C and A are sleeping together finally making that part of their arrangement and he wakes up with a jolt. He dreams that someone was touching him or was it. It's after Leila has been inside escala with mrs Jones. That was a twist bc we know Ana saw her at the foot of the bed. That's the only spoiler I'll give. It sounds like others have already filled you in.

Hi ladies! I'm mega late today, but as they say "better late than never!" LOL Here are a few freebies I found on Amazon today. This first one is a CR by Bella Andre. It's book 8 in her ever popular Sullivan series. I've read one of the books--book one--which center around a family of eight siblings. My overall impression was that the book, although extremely well written, had way, way, way too much sex in it! I like sex in my stories just as much as the next person, but not at the expense of the story. Hopefully, this latest installment wont be as sexed up. LOL This one is about one of the brothers who finds love with a childhood friend.

http://www.amazon.com/Way-Look-Tonigh...

http://www.amazon.com/Whiskey-Kisses-...

http://www.amazon.com/Honeymoon-Prize...

http://www.amazon.com/Married-Montana...

WHISKEY KISSES is book 4 in Addison Moore's 3:AM Kisses series. It's another CR.

HONEYMOON PRIZE is about a H who needs to find a wife in order to secure his high paying job as a bodyguard. He proposes a marriage of convenience to his childhood friend who is in desperate need of a home. She agrees; the two end up winning a honeymoon. They plan to go their separate ways during the honeymoon, but lo and behold, as part of the prize a camera crew is on hand to follow their every move while on the honeymoon, so they have to play the part of a newly married couple in love. LOL

MARRIED IN MONTANA is about a H and h who are hooked up by a matchmaker and meet when it is time for them to get married....think modern day mail order bride. LOL BTW this book is written by Kirsten Osbourne who also writes historical mail order bride books. I've read a few and loved them...the HRs I mean, not her CRs.

That's it for today, ladies. Sorry I'm so late today, but for the summer I probably wont be able to keep any kind of regular hours. Sigh! TTYL!

Hi ladies. Here's a freebie for you. It's a CR. I read this one and LOVED it. It's a second chance at love story between a divorced couple. Rachel this one is beyond safe. Neither the H nor the h have had sex with anyone in the two years since their divorce. They haven't even dated. The H has allowed his friends to take him to a bar once a month to hang out and they try to get him to hook up with women, to no avail. SPOILER INFO***So, the story starts with him showing up for breakfast at the diner where his ex works, with a girl who is wearing his shirt. It's obvious that they've spent the night together, but it's not what the h thinks. The H DID sit with the girl on his lap at a bar the night before and even kissed her; he was playing wing man for his friend who went home with the girl's friend. He only took the girl home because her car wouldn't start and she lived too far away. He slept on the couch! He tries to explain this to the h and she tells him it's none of her business, that's it's good that he's moving on, he should move on. He tells her that he hasn't moved on and has no interest in doing so. This is a beautiful story!

http://smile.amazon.com/Love-Small-To...

http://smile.amazon.com/Summer-Spark-...

http://smile.amazon.com/My-Fake-Fianc...

http://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_pg_2...

http://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_pg_2...

http://smile.amazon.com/Secret-Billio...

http://smile.amazon.com/Gabriel-Lord-...

http://smile.amazon.com/Harlow-Hoyden...

SUMMER SPARK is about a h who has a teenaged daughter. She moves to a small town in order to prevent her daughter from getting into trouble; she's been moving with the wrong crowd. There she meets the H, who is a firefighter. He "unexpectedly lost his wife" the previous year. Not sure what that means...did she die, dump him, what? Anyhow, the two find love. FYI this is a novella of about 70 pages. BE AWARE that this is book one in a FOUR BOOK SERIAL. There is no HEA at the end of this first book.

MY FAKE FIANCEE is a short story of about 40 pages. It's a CR; I think the title says it all. LOL The H is best friends with the h's brother.

DIVORCED DESPERATE AND DANGEROUS is about a h who falls for a H who is a cop on an undercover assignment. When she discovers that he's been lying to her, and worse, he busted her brother and got him tossed in jail, she moves on alone and heartbroken. Two months later when two witnesses connected to the case are murdered, the H tracks the h down to protect her. FYI this book is short; just under 140 pages.

SECRET BILLIONAIRE is another novella; this one is just under 100 pages long. It's about a wealthy H who takes an extended vacation. He rents a ranch and ends up hiring the h to work for him. Love blossoms. Of course, at some point, his secret must come out!

GABRIEL: LORD OF REGRET is the only HR on our list today. It's book 5 in Grace Burrowes The Lonely Lords series.

THE HARLOW HOYDEN is a regency set romance. It sounds like it might be a cute story.

That's it for today, ladies. I'll try to be back tomorrow. If you haven't as yet, check out the freebie list I posted yesterday evening. The books listed are still free. They are all CR's.

message 3530: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I liked the Harlow Harlot. Some did not like the h behavior but it didn't bother me. She was saucy and I like my h that way.
Kens dr told him his heart is not strong enough to filter out his kidneys. His sugar was lower only 91 he was thrilled but he said his kidneys are worse. He asked if he wa eating Of potatoes bc of the potassium. He wants him to talk a half of his lisonopril and fenefibrate and recheck in four weeks if it's not different he wants him to go to a kidney dr.

message 3531: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments Thanks RF! I actually heard of that CR romance and I believe I already have it downloaded because it's been free a while. I think the reason that I haven't read it yet is because I was told that even though the hero doesn't sleep with anyone else, that he does go out once a month and not only just go "out" with his guy friends, but he like makes out with women during those outings. That's what has me hesitate. I mean, why was that necessary? And the heroine doesn't do any of that crap, of course, it's always the hero. :/ Maybe you could shed some light on that?

EB - Oh goodness! So blood sugar is good, but now his worsening heart is causing kidney issues. That really sucks. Have they diagnosed him with heart failure?

message 3532: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments They've said his heart needed help they gave him beta blockers to help his heart before the difibulator was put in. He was saying sugar was what he needed to control his last visit now we find this out.

That's tough news, EB! But there is still hope. I'll keep Ken in my thoughts and prayers. You've certainly had more than your fair share or woes lately. I pray things will get better soon. How are you feeling today? I hope you're feeling better.

Sorry I've been MIA, but it's been a crazy couple of weeks. Tomorrow is actually the only day this week that I haven't had to rush out of the house like crazy. Lucian's last day of camp was today; swimming ends tomorrow. On the bright side, my babies are both swimming great!

I'll try to get a freebie list posted in the a.m. TTYL!

It's tough, EB! I can only imagine how stressed out you are! All I can say is that it all sounds bad, but people can, and do, live with these conditions. It just takes the docs a while to get things under control sometimes. Try not to worry too much. You've gotta take care of yourself. It's obvious that you are your family's rock--a difficult position to have. I keep you in mind all the time; if you're okay, everyone else will be too, eventually.

Yes, I am crazy busy! A typical day for me now is, rush out to drop Lucian off at camp for 9 a.ma. Meet one friend of another of Hannah's for a playdate. Rush to pick Lucian up from camp then directly to swimming lessons. We leave home around 8:30 in the mornings and don't usually get home before 3 or later. I'll be happy when it's all done, but the kids are having fun and that's what's important. We leave for FL on July 14th. I'm not sure how much relaxation I'm going to get while I'm there, though. We'll see!

Yes I know exactly what you mean. You try to put it out of your mind--no sense in worrying about something you can't control, right?--but it keeps popping up, and you can't help but think/worry it. It would be nice if we had a special section of our brain where we could p?ut unwanted thoughts and lock them away!! I'll keep praying for you sister...try to stay strong!

My issue now--which is NOTHING compared to your worries-- is that the kids are both heading off to school in September and I need to get back to work. It's a scary thought for someone who's been at home for almost right years!!!

Hi Rach! Glad your enjoying the new job. I'm actually jealous! LOL

message 3542: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I didn't know you were starting a new job. Have I been that self absorbed? Anyway I'm glad you like it but the early are hard to get use to. I use to have to wake up at 3:30am to get to work on time. That's why and when I started drinking coffee. You do get use to it and it becomes second nature plus at 2:30 or even 5:30 you feel good knowing you put in a full day's work.

any plans for the 4th? I get to work but it's double time for me and I'm done at 9 so it's all good. It would be scary I hear you. I'm sure you will find a job you love you have a nice bubbly personality some employer will scarf you up. Do you want to go back to an ER or would like a dr's office setting? Man you can't find time to read now when will you get a chance if you start a job too? I know from hearing my niece sometimes your lucky to get a break.

Rachel | 443 comments Hey ladies!

Omg RF! Are you excited or not to be starting work again? What will you do?

EB - no I didn't say anything actually lol and it wasn't a big deal at first. Since I'm "as needed" or PRN (even though I work full time hours) I started picking up at this other center on days that my main squeeze didn't have me working that I wanted to work. It's busier and faster and I work my butt off but the hours are better. Anyways, I got an actual job offer over there yesterday to make THAT my main facility for PRN and I would pick up where I am now for shifts that they don't schedule me for. So it would be the opposite. I don't want to pass it up because if a full time position opens up, I'll take it. No weekends or holidays or call time at this place like the place I am now.

No you're not the least bit self-absorbed--or if you are, then I am too! LOL Rachel just told us yesterday that she started a new job. It's apparently in the same hospital where she's been working all along, just a different department. Good luck, Rachel!

As for me, I'm going to apply for my MA nursing license later this summer. All i have to do is send in an application--with a fee of course!!-- and provide proof of licensure from the other states where I am licensed to practice. I'm not sure if I will actually practice nursing, though. We'll see. The hours would probably be much, much better with the kids school schedule--more flexible--but I might actually go back to law. I plan on taking the MA bar, but not until next July. It's only offered twice a year; February and July. I told Brian that there is no way I'm going to commit to doing something that important in the middle of the winter!!!! I'll have to take a bar review course before I take the exam. I want to do a home-study; actually going to an all day class wont work with the kids' school schedule. I prefer home study anyway. I did that for the CA bar and loved it! Much better than having to go to class M-F all day long, which I did for the FL bar. At least then I had a lot of my friend/classmates in class with me, so it was kinda fun.

So, it's all up in the air. I do have time to think and plan, however, because I wont actually start studying for the bar until after the FEB 2016 exam is administered. In the meantime, once I get licensed for nursing, if a good job in that field comes my way I'll take it. I try not to think about this too much, because it just drives me crazy!!

You're working today, EB, or did you mean the actual 4th? It's a little crazy with today being the day the holiday is observed, but tomorrow being the actual holiday. Technically Brian has the day off, but he chose to work. He gets paid holiday pay and then extra for each patient that he sees. He likes the extra money of course, but mostly it's just a pain in the ass for him to take a day off...at least that's what he says. LOL Have a nice day!

BTW I saw you had a wing night thing on FB posted did you make time to go out and kick up your heels or crocks? Lol. RF you must be pretty damn intelligent to have the background you do. I mean law to me is just intimidating. Medical terminology was my favorite subject I think bc I liked learning the broken word meanings and piecing them together to form new words. Again it came down to puzzle solving. I do like watching the forensic files how they take a random paper clip and link to the only store that sells the brand and finding the only person who could have sold it. He's usually some pathetic antisocial with a high score in video games which he plays in his mother's basement. Wow too much criminal minds/ law and order SVU. So I think it's great to have a focus point but I agree the waiting sucks. You just want to jump in and get things done. Your baby adjusting to school or rather mom adjusting to baby in school is a tough one.

Haha EB did you see that UNDER HIS PROTECTION is on today's freebie list. I decided to pass on it. I know you really liked the book, but you had too many issues with the author and then the ridiculous behavior by her rabid fans is a huge turnoff.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments That's funny RF. there was a lot of drama surrounding that. I just posted my review for Nicole Dyke's book and while I pointed out some problems I had she thanked me. There were things I did like and book 2 is so much better for me. It's more our style the first book is geared more for a younger perspective I think.
