Well here was another curve ball our home equity line of credit was cancelled bc I don't make enough. I tried to deal with this lady on the phone and the woman was a dimwit. I decided to go to the branch and talk with them in doing so we are reapplying with Kens income too. His credit was bad when we originally applied 10 years ago and so we just kept it when we reapplied. My mom tells me God only gives you what you can handle. I'm like yea well I wish he wouldn't have so much confidence in me. Lol. I have to take Josh to his arthritis dr this morning. He's had juvenile arthritis since 10 and his dr is treating it with the hopes he'll out grow it. He's doing good

OMG! You just can't catch a break, can you? I hear what your Mom is saying, but it's still difficult to deal with when you're in the middle of one crisis after another. It's super tough, and super depressing! Hang in there, EB! This too shall pass. At this point you just gotta TRY to let go of the situations that you cannot control. It's super hard, but it's the only way to keep sane. My heart feels for you, honey! I've been there, and it ain't easy! Financial stuff, etc. is bad enough, but it's the worst when it's someone's health involved. I'll definitely keep praying for you and your family.

Thanks. I'm working a midnight shift tonight. 11-8:30. Here goes the keurig again. Lol. Josh's appointment is tomorrow not today.
I'm reading Seducing Charlotte that a freebie a couple days back. I'm not far but so far it's pretty cute. Have you been able to get into a book?

Nope. I started TETON SUNRISE a few days ago, but haven't read any of it since Sunday morning. My son is home now and I've been keeping busy with some art projects...YES, I said ART projects! LOL I stenciled my daughter's name and a few decorations on one of those party tubs before her dance recital. She has to bring a laundry basket, or something similar, to keep all her stuff organized for costume changes during the show.
Anyhow, in the past I've just brought our laundry basket with a picture of her taped to it, so it doesn't get mixed up with anyone else's. This year I got her a pretty peach/pink party tub to use instead. A few days before the recital inspiration struck and I decided to give personalizing it a go. It was so nice that she wants me to personalize pencil boxes for all her classmates so she can bring them as her "goodie bag" for her classroom bday celebration. Sigh!
I'll email you a pic. It looks pretty good...not great, but good. She loved it!

I haven't read very much today. I got a midnight shift with a hospice patient tonight to gain some hours. Rachel I got an email today from goodreads that said one of my postings from two weeks ago was never sent. It never posted. Isn't that odd? They asked me if I wanted to post and I said no bc shit what's the point? You guys would have been like that's random. Lol

LMAO OMG EB! At least I know I'm not crazy when I don't get messages. Poor EB, I understand ALL about needing hours, but good luck sweetheart! You have so much going on right now with everyone else and now I don't want you to start running yourself ragged. :(
Only 8 hours to go. Lol. I have time to read. This place I'm at is out on BFE and in order to find the house # I had to get out of the car. The grass is grown up on both sides it's pitch black and I'm getting out of my car at 11pm to find this house. I felt like I was in the movie Wrong Tirn and a wild hillbilly was going to jump out and attack me. Lol. The bugs are ridiculous out here too. I hope you guys are getting good rest bc I'm not. Lol.
Elizabeth wrote: "6 hrs and 15 minutes to go."
:-( WRONG TURN?! OMG! I've seen that movie. Very creepy! Thanks for letting us know you found the house safely. That's really not cool, though, having to get out of your car to look for the house. Driving out close to midnight is bad enough. Get some sleep today.
I had another bad night...my fault. I was up late rereading favorite parts of a book because my mind just wont settle on a new one. I know I need to get to bed early nowadays because I don't sleep through the night and I can't stay awake past five, but NO, I don't get to bed until after midnight. On the flip side, my mind really did need that rendezvous with a book.
Speaking of RENDEZVOUS, I wanted to listen to that book because you said it was awesome--so does my friend Ann--but my library doesn't have it. I'm toying with the idea of using one of Brian's credits on audible to buy myself a copy, but...I'm cheap! LOL

WILD HEART is an inspirational western.
HIGHLAND KNIGHT is another of Samantha Holt's stories from her One Knight Collection that is a little on the erotic side. It's another short, but sweet 'n sexy story. EB I know you've been reading and enjoying her One Knight stories; not sure if you had gotten the collection that included the entire series. FYI ladies, they are all standalones.
A LADY AND A SPY is a novella of just over 100 pages. It's about a wealthy h who loses money to another woman and has no way of paying the debt without her grandfather finding out. The woman makes the h an offer; chaperone the H's sister through society and spy on the H's household to help the female win the handsome, wealthy H. The h agrees, but the more time she spends with the H, the more she likes him and doesn't want the other woman to win him over. But how to back out of the deal without her g/father and the H finding out? From the first review I thought this was a regency romance, even though the cover puts me more in mind of a 1920's story. HOWEVER, when I used the look inside feature, turns out the story is set in 1894 NY...so not Regency.
SHEIKH ROMANCE is a set of three short contemporary romance books by author Kate Goldman. Included in the set are: THE SHEIKH'S GIRLFRIEND, THE OIL PRINCE, and THE SHEIKH'S DAUGHTER.
That's it for today, ladies. TTYL! EB I hope you're getting some sleep!!!!

Girl there's no way I'm going to be able to crash right now. Josh has his appointment at 11:30 so I may go so I can hear what she has to say. It wasn't bad I dosed off for two hours total so I did get some sleep it just wasn't consistent 2 hrs. I read that short erotic book from yesterday and finished seducing Charolotte and now I'm reading a short read from Jane Lark called the desperate love of a lord. I see I have another one from her called capturing the Earl's love. I remembered I liked her but this h is not my favorite. She is a widower who believed she loved her husband but when he died it was like she turned into Debbie does Dallas. She openly admits in her thoughts that she was with so many men she lost count. Than she met Geoff he is 7 yrs younger and she knows she is in love with him. The problem is she is pregnant with his child and instead of trusting that love she flees. Geoff spends three days trying to find her only to learn she is closing up her house and has already fled. He is in love with her too and can't understand why she just left. So now he is hot on her trail and Violet keeps thinking of how she loves him. I just think if a person is in love with another what about them makes you love him if you feel like you can't tell him your carrying his child. She should have at least gave him that. No right away she thinks the worst than how much do you really know about that person. You know. Anyhow I hope there's a good reason for it. BTW Seducing Charolotte sets the scene for Belle and the Duke of Taherne. There breezed over but mentioned. I got two reviews to punch up. Oh and get this two days ago I did my review for dreaming of Anne by MB and this morning I get notice it just went live on Amazon. Lol Your not alone Rachel

Umm I have that book. It's a short story, but I don't I can get down with the whorish heroine. Slept with so many men she can't keep track? That's just disgusting! It's not wonder she doesn't want to tell the H about the baby; she probably assumes that every man who sleeps with her just wants her for sex! Ugh! What I don't understand is why the H is running after her. I don't like the fact that he's several years younger either; it's almost as if the author is saying that an older, wiser H would have had the sense not to fall for a loose woman. I'm overthinking, I know! LOL

No I understand what you mean but I have to say that it's usually the man that's older and IMO 7 yrs isn't that big of an age gap. That didn't bother that she was 7 yrs older or the other way around. The fact that she had so many men she lost track doesn't make sense to me. It is just like she was trying to create the H's character to match the stereotypical rogue in most HR. It didn't really explain why she did it either. Women of that time i think didn't lightly just carry on in such a way, even a widow. Then there is the baby. She runs off creating a new name and dressing in black to explain why she a single mother. Geoff has found her and they have both never strayed from each other since day one. Geoff knows now that preggers and has offered to marry for love. She always told him it was only a three year gap but confessed it's more. He already knew of course but even face to face she doesn't immediatlty accept him. She loves him but thinks if he knows he'll take her baby. Five months along he finally noticed that she has a belly and makes his move. Now that I believe, men can be so blind sometimes. Lol. Now that they are working it out it isn't bad but the h still isn't my idea of a good h in any period. Lol. I did lay down and get like 4 hours sleep. That should be good until tonight.

I don't usually care about the age diff. What I was saying is that in this particular instance I don't really care for the fact that he is younger. It's almost as if the author is trying to give a naïve, younger H to match with the cougar, whorish h. I don't know; it's just a thought. Anyhow, she sounds like an idiot. I doubt I'll read that book, even though I have it. I've got too many others to read. He should leave her and find a good, decent woman to marry. LOL And like you say, there's no reason for her loose morals. I mean, it's not like she had a horrible marriage and is just busting out...didn't you say she thought she loved her husband? A few lovers is one thing, but so many that she lost count? That's a little slutty for ANY time period in my book!

I can see what you mean by him being lead around by his balls. She said that she thought that she loved her husband but than she met Geoff. It still doesn't explain her being a whore or why she didn't trust him enough to tell him of their baby. She has money. Yea I figured I'm in so deep now I may as well finish it.
Elizabeth wrote: "I can see what you mean by him being lead around by his balls. She said that she thought that she loved her husband but than she met Geoff. It still doesn't explain her being a whore or why she did..."
Ya I hear you. Plus it's so short anyway. I think I'm expending too much energy trying to understand her motives; I mean, I'm not even the one reading the blasted book! LOL Yes, that's exactly what I mean about the age diff--she is leading him around by the balls and I wonder if that's why the author choose to have the H be younger. As if an older, more mature H would've not put up with her BS. I know I'm overthinking it, but it does make me wonder. LOL And yes, she thought she was in love, but now that she's met the H she realizes what true love is. I get that, but like you, I don't see why she became a slut in the first place. I would have made more sense if maybe she had a bad marriage and somehow that messed her up, blah, blah, blah. As things stand now though, it's nonsensical. Not that a woman needs a reason to be promiscuous, but if it's MY h, I want her to have a reason, otherwise I'm not liking her!!!

The author sort of explains it away that she is the Merry Widow and does not care what others think but like you I want more out of h. It sounds as though she is trying to appeal to CR. that's the mentality bc women didn't think that way. Omg the H is such a pu$$y (excuse French) he confides to her that he feels threatened by the men in her past. During sex she moans in passion he's the best man she's taken to bed. Are you serious? Now that you planted that seed RF I'm feeling as though she is his sugar mama. She tells him she wants to live in her house in London he agrees bc he had bachelor quarters. They are staying in a village at present and she saying she doesn't care if there's scandal bc she can smile regardless. She acts and lives like a courtesan. Geoff just follows behind her. He is not the strong in charge man either that I like in my H. More of a whimsy, yes dear type.

Yes that's exactly what I mean about the age diff--it's almost as if she's making the H out to be the h's boy toy. I don't like it. Otherwise, age differences don't usually bother me...unless it's super huge. That being said, I've read many where the H is 15, 16, 17, even 20 years older, and I've been fine with that. I've never read one where the h is that much older than the H, but several years, even ten, I've read and been okay with it. In this instance, it just seems to serve to highlight how much weaker the H is than the h. What is she, his Mommy? LOL
I don't like her at all. I'm deleting the book from my cloud. Thanks for taking the bullet on this one; sorry if I ruined it for you. :-(
BTW you know how I decorated that party tub for my daughter to use during her dance recital? Did I tell you that she now wants personalized pencil boxes to give as her goodie bag during her in-school birthday celebration? YES! There are SIXTEEN kids in the class. I'm going crazy. I've spent sooooooo much time looking into it; reading up stenciling tips etc. My head is spinning. So I finally came up with the idea to make my own stencils--see how far I've advanced in just a matter of days?! Aren't you proud? LOL Anyhow, I have a Cricut machine so I decided to do use that to cut the stencils, but after I practiced with a couple I didn't like how much bleeding there was from the paint--no matter how "dry" I try to keep the brush.
Anyhow, I discovered, through extensive research, that contact paper is a good product to use to make stencils. They stick in place thus reducing the potential to bleed. So far I've put the names on ELEVEN boxes. I have to finish the rest tomorrow and then cut out stencils for the images I plan to use. I may never finish this project. Sigh! Well I'm exhausted, so I'm off to bed. TTYT!

I should have deleted it from my Kindle when we first talked about it. I remembered we all enjoyed Lark's Capturing but this one is like from a completely differnet author. I've read 114 books so far this year. That's quite a feat.
EB - so glad you made it through that night shift! LOL Now, you need to go to bed early tonight to make up for hardly sleeping today! That book sounds awful. The fact that the heroine is a slut, doesn't bother me all that much honestly though. The thing is, I've read so many books where it is the opposite - the hero is the one who is the major manwhore after a loss and it makes me so angry that sometimes it's refreshing to have the tables turned. I don't like how she loves him and doesn't at least tell him about the baby. That is kind of ridiculous and makes me not interested. It's like drama for the sake of drama. LOL! RF - it sounds like your hands are full honey, but that is the sweetest thing to do for your daughter! I may need ideas like that when the times comes for me as well. At least I know who to harass hahaha
I'm going to be going to bed shortly! Work tomorrow, but it shouldn't be as bad as today and yesterday :) Good night ladies!

Hi Rachel! I admit I'm having fun, but it's stressful too because I'm such a Type A perfectionist. They think that no matter what I do it's perfect, while I'm looking at it saying, I don't know...it's a little messy right here! LOL They are teaching me to chill out though, because no matter what they appreciate what I do. So, I'm looking at the project more through their eyes than mine...luckily! I'll post pics when I'm done so you can see what I've been up to these last few days. The research alone has taken hours, but then THAT'S a prime example of my type A personality. Sigh!
I'm not the go to person for crafts and such, though. That's EB's forte! I was telling my husband that it's so much easier to figure out what and how to do something nowadays, what with the internet and all that info at your fingertips. When I was a kid that was so not the case, so you either came up with ideas and figured it out on your own, or got a book, which was time consuming and a chore. Considering that I don't have any natural artistic talent, I decided to just avoid doing anything that was remotely artsy. LOL
Anyhow, I hope you had a great night and will have a wonderful day at work today. TTYL!
EB, did you finish that disaster of a short story you were reading? LOL I hope you got to catch up on the sleep you missed out the night before.

I did finish it RF. i had mentioned that her book capturing an earl we all loved it as I recall. Then I wanted to read another but had started the desperate book once before. I remember now we discussed the trashy widow before and I should have deleted it. I didn't and well... I posted my review yesterday and now have moved on toMaureen Driscoll's books. I got book 2 the other day and checked to find I have Always Come Home book 1, always true to her is book 2. I started book 1 shortly before I went to bed.
Sorry ladies; I'm skipping today's freebie list. I'm already caught up in the throes of pencil box decorating. LOL Seeing that I'll have yet another trip to Michael's today, and this makes FOUR days in a row, I really just want to get things done early so that I can relax and read for a few minutes.
I envy you going to Michaels. I'm taking a trip to pick up my running pack and then our refrigerator has now decided it felt left out and is dying. We've had it for 16 yrs and can't be too upset other than its timing. Thank god we have the means to get another one. I will be happy to have an ice maker again

How is her book so far. I loved her NEVER A MISTRESS NO LONGER A MAID. I also read book 2 in that series (The Kellington) and liked it a lot; although not as much as NEVER A MISTRESS. I have the first two books of the series you're reading now too. I think both books have been on our freebie lists.
As you see I'm taking the day off from freebies today. I just finished my workout and then I'm going to get back to my project. LOL I want to get it done so I can have a little time to relax today.

See to me the pencil boxes would be relaxing. My niece brought her little girl over and I helped her make a Father's Day gift with her daughter. It was a lot of fun. I still have my blanket to work on.

For us it's the hot water heater. It's one of those that lights the pilot automatically. Lately it's been shutting itself down whenever it has a problem lighting the pilot. I'm not sure WHY the pilot keeps going out, but... We keep having to shut it off and wait a while. Then when we turn it back on, after two or three tries, it relights. I have a call out to the plumber. I don't know what's going to happen, but thank God it's not winter! LOL
Ya, I know you would think the pencil boxes are relaxing. LOL I like it; it's pretty fun, but relaxing it is not. I'm way too anal for that, I think. Too picky. :-( And I'm overly critical of everything that I do.

Oh believe I'm anal picky too but I love taking something plain or ugly and turning it in to something that makes people look twice. Your also right about the internet you can really be inspired to make some cool things and the cheaper ideas are the best. Good luck and send pics
It's a charity 5K where you walk and get plastered with different colors. Pics on FB. I was a hot mess. We did it for Akron Children's Hospital. It's where my son goes

Sounds like a hot, sticky, mess! God love ya...I don't mind the running, but I'd have to pass on the paint plastering. LOL I got your email with the newspaper article. I'll check it out when I get back from church. Happy Sunday!

Lol. It got cakes bc I was sweaty from the humidity. I have pics on FB it was fun. I go to the warrior dash in August which has obstacles and a mud slide. I want to take the kids next year they'll love it
Damn auto correct the powder got Cakey on my face bc I was sweaty. The newspaper man quoted me and my niece is having a fit. Lol. I told her I was just trying to get you more dates. Lol. Her friend thinks it's awesome. Lmbo. Good times!!
Hey EB, just read the article. Figures you'd tell the whole world that you're a virgin! LOL The run actually sounds like fun!!! How come you didn't take your sons with you?
The tickets were $40 a. person for starters and I wasn't sure if they'd like it. My niece said you know he's going to print what you said I'm like no, I was just being a smart ass. First thing this morning she's sending me that article. Lol. It's awesome. Lmbo. I like this book but there is no way I could be with the H and is work schedule. I'm not finished yet but how can people live like that? Not knowing if he's alive or dead and obviously kids are out of the picture. He's hot but that kind of relationship is nuts.

True, but think about it...it really does happen. I don't know about HOT but the Navy SEALS are real and they do shit like that all the time. I do think, however, that assignments like that are short term; they only last for a few years then the guys get out. I think units like the FBI HRT the guys only work for a few years and then move on. But I hear you about that; that's why the men's attitude towards a committed relationship makes sense. How could you ask a woman to put up with that?

Oh good! I was getting worried, especially when we didn't hear from you yesterday. Is he at home? What about your Dad? How is he doing? Is he home as yet? My God EB, you've got a lot on your plate right now!
