So I sent it to her but wasn't there something I needed to do for the mobi file? My dad had to reformat my laptop and I lost all the changes I made b4 so I have basics but do I need to do anything else? I have my kindle app on my laptop

No, I don't think so. She can send you the file via email then you can send it to your device from your own email address. But you will have to download the file first, then attach it to a new email from you to your kindle. You can't just forward it. I thought she was going to send it directly to your device? She can, but you'd have to add her email address to your list of approved email addresses first. You're not going to read it on the laptop are you?
It might be easier if she just sends it directly to your device. Remember the last time we tried to download and email a file it was a disaster and I think Allyson just went ahead and sent it directly to your device.

She hasn't confirmed but I messaged her and told her that I'd need her address to add to my kindle and sent her my kindle address so I'm waiting to hear back. Anyhow I am going into see my dad again and I have to stop a few places so I don't know how much reading I'll get in today since I dozed off with my Kindle last night. LOL

LOL So, you're definitely going to get an ARC copy? Sweet!! Wow! I'm excited for you, and myself too because I can't wait to hear what the psycho couple does next! LOL
I hope your Dad is doing well enough so they'll let him go home today.
I am going to drop Lucian off at school for 9, but we probably wont get there until 9:15 as usual. :-) Then I have to go back at 10 for the ice cream social; I decided to just hang out in the parking lot and read until then. I need to go to Target, but Lucian wants to go with me, and since one of the things I need to do there is pick up a bday present for one of his friends I figured I'd just wait so we can go together after school. Plus it gives me an excuse to hang out in the car and read. LOL It doesn't make sense to come back home because that is a 20 minute drive each way; such a waste to do that for 40-45 minutes at home. Not to mention it's a waste of good reading time. LOL My hubby got me a Paperwhite so I can read outside; I keep that in my handbag with whatever book I'm reading downloaded on it so I'm never without my book. It's so little and cute and so much better to read on in the car than my HDX. The glare from the outside light, even in the car, makes reading on the HDX a little difficult and it's completely impossible reading in direct sunlight!

No she just messaged me before you sent me yours and said she'd already distributed Stalker Arc's. :( That's how my luck has gone lately. If I didn't have bad luck I'd have none at all.

Hey Rach! You will. Like I said I liked it, and even though it wasn't one of my favorite Garwood novels, I still thought it was great. And the good news is that if you like that one, you'll like all her other highland and medieval stories because they all share very similar traits...It's a bit much when you read them back to back, but great when you space them out. She's a definite favorite of mine; maybe my favorite author of highland and medieval romance. You've gotta read The Secret...I LOVE that one!!!!!

I know!! I will read that one but I like the storylines with kids so I chose this one first Hahahaha the ONLY thing I don't like about highland romances sometimes is that the heroes are usually rakes or slutty. I don't know about this hero yet. :)

No! No rakes or sluts in Garwood's books! He agreed to the marriage and I don't think there is anyone else. The funny thing is that I usually find that there are more man whores in regencies. I think it's because they really didn't have anything to do other than maintain their inheritance. Whereas in the medieval period they had to wage war and fight for everything. LOL

Ladies miss the lighter reads and even while this one draws that dark side of me I do miss my scots and gentlemen. It was the mention of kids that made me think maybe I'll toss in some lighter reads before stalker comes out. This one I'm reading I think is going to come down to Stockholm Syndrome. That is a tough topic but for some reason makes me want to watch it play out. I think it's the psychological aspect but if it goes too dark I will step out. Don't ask me what too dark might be bc the subject can not really go any way but dark. It's hard to explain and I don't know what is wrong with me for wanting to follow this series through but we can't really control that I guess.

EB, you're so far over into the dark side that you can't even see a glimmer of light! LOL You're reading CW's SEEK now, aren't you?
And Rachel, I don't remember SG having kids? I know the h didn't have any, did the H? I honestly don't remember any, but then again, I could have blocked them out. ROTFL!
I'm reading a mail order bride romance by Kristen Osbourne, MAIL ORDER MISFIT. It's super sweet; in other words, the total opposite of what EB's reading. LOL

Hahaha ladies!! We have EB going to the dark side and RF reading sugary sweet haha and I guess I'm in between!RF - I agree with you in regards to regency but at the same time during that time period, that's one of the things some participated in because it was about war and sex. Not necessarily marriage but that also makes it worse because no birth control if you know what I mean. Now, in this book, I'm not sure just yet about the hero. He does have a 4 year old son and apparently the woman he sired him with was a whore and he doesn't even know if the story is truly is but he claimed him anyway. So the question is, was she a whore when he bedded her too or did he just not know? That will tell me if he was rakish or not. I'm still in the beginning because of work :(

Ah yes, I remember now. I think it's awesome that he claimed the son not knowing whether or not he's even his. That's pretty honorable considering during that time he could've just walked away. I don't know if he was rakish or not; I can't remember that. But I don't think men really had a choice as to whether or not to sleep with a so-called "loose" woman, because they were the only ones having sex outside of marriage. So, I think it was either that or be celibate, or get married. LOL And yes, you're right. War and sex kinda did go together. I've read where the men's blood is pumping that they needed to release some pent up energy after warring all day and sex was a good cure for that. But then again, they're men! They have ANY excuse to have sex; they still do it nowadays, but we women are too wise to their rubbish! LOL
Yes my book is really sweet...and it's funny too. The h is a mail order bride. She has a lame leg because of an injury when she was a child, so now she walks with a pretty bad limp. It doesn't stop her from being active, but you know. Anyhow, after three days on a train and not being able to move around, and then losing her cane she wasn't at her best when she finally arrived. The ass she was supposed to marry walked off and left her high and dry. The H overheard and stepped in to marry her himself.
The funny thing was that the H was in the mercantile complaining that if he had to eat beans one more night he was going to have a fit--that's all he can cook! The owner told him he needed to get a mail order bride and showed him an ad in the paper. The H said that he might buy a paper when he came back from eating, but he was hoping he could just walk into the restaurant and find a beautiful woman sitting there who wanted to marry him and only him. Of course that's exactly what happens, because the h's fiancée abandons her after they go to the restaurant to eat and she tells him about her leg! He then took the h back to the mercantile and introduced her to the owner as his fiancée! The owner goes "fiancée" What do you mean, fiancée." The H's response was "you're the one who told me to find a mail order bride. I did!" ROTFL! I wish I could've seen his face!
How's your day going, Darth Vader? LOL I actually just got home. I went to my son's ice cream social today. I dropped him off about quarter after nine and had to go back for the social at 10:30, so I grabbed the opportunity and just stayed in my car and read for the hour. We didn't leave his school until almost one then I had to run to Target. We just got home about twenty minutes ago...my daughter is due home soon. She had her class field trip today.

Ohh! That sounds cute RF! Another novella?? Lol I'll keep you posted on the hero in the book I'm reading!!!
Hello. Dad had a chest xray this morning and the dr put him on another antibiotic so he saw something no one knows what bc the dr didn't stop in just gave orders. So he'll be in at least another day. It is lonely here on the dark side. LOL. I guess us psychological thrillers are a unique breed. Ken is doing well he is chugging his water and I am fixing him a fabulous meal for dinner. Chicken, sweet potatoes, green beans and a salad with lots and lots of water. His body is going to go into shock here. I need to get some reading in I haven't had time to get in any in so far. I am getting my new doo tomorrow. Yes, Lord Vader is getting her mop adjusted. I found this really cute hair style I like. It's bold and is quite a different look for me but I need a change.

Okay Darth. Maybe your Dad has a touch of pneumonia? That's possible. Hopefully it's nothing too serious. Glad to hear Ken is doing so well. Can I come over for dinner too? LOL
Yes, Rachel! My book is oh so cute. The H is adorable. He LOVES his new wife's cooking! He has a major sweet tooth and she bakes like a dream, so he's in heaven. The issue they have is that she can't see herself the way he does. She feels like she isn't whole and she needs to make up for her physical limitations, while he thinks she's perfect. He even told her that he was smitten from first sight, when he saw her entering the restaurant with his neighbor--the jackass she was supposed to marry. When he overheard their conversation he wanted to hit the idiot and kept hoping that she wouldn't marry him. As soon as the jerk walked out on her, he made his move. He thought she was beautiful and overheard her say that she was a good cook...that's all he needed to know. ROTFL It makes him sad when she refuses to believe him when he tells her the way he feels about her. It's a really sweet story. I've always liked Kirsten Osbourne's Brides of Beckham series, and it seems that the books are getting better--if this one is anything to go by.

Would that make his lungs not inflate? I just got a call from mom and she said these said his lungs are not inflating. Does that make sense?
Elizabeth wrote: "Would that make his lungs not inflate? I just got a call from mom and she said these said his lungs are not inflating. Does that make sense?"
Yes pneumonia can be a cause of that. It means his lungs aren't filling with air in the normal way. He takes deep breaths, but the lungs don't inflate with air all the way. The condition is called atelectasis.

You're welcome. There are a number of possible causes for it; pneumonia is just one of them. But because you mentioned he put him on antibiotics and pneumonia is so common, it made me think that may be the problem.

EB - I agree with RF. Are they marking sure he is ambulatory? Bed rest is not always a good thing. My surgery patients dread me because I'm ready to get them up ASAP to avoid complications such as what your dad is experiencing. Also, is he using an incentive spirometer? I always tell my patients to smell those roses and blow out those candles. Do it nice and deep haha does that sound like sex talk?!?! RF - OMG your book is too cute. Give me the details. I'm adding it. It's a novella? She sounds like a safe author!
Well I knew with an antibiotic there had to be an infection somewhere it was the deflated lung that confused me. I'll let you know when we find out more from the doc. My book is pretty good. The h is in a nut house and it flashes back and forth like Killer did. It gets a bit confusing though bc she has dates and I feel like I should write them down so I can keep it straight. Anyhow her and a friend Ashley go on vacation and something happened but she has blocked it out of her memory. She keeps seeing a man named Sebastian but everyone else says he's in her mind. She keeps seeing him touching her, kissing her and at this point he is starting to bend her arm in an attempt to make her feel. She feels numb and her best friend calls her selfish bc she won't tell the dr what "they" did to her. It's very mysterious and your wondering if she has invented Sebastian bc he represents safety. He will make it better he is the only one who can make her feel better. That is why I was thinking Stockholm syndrome but now I just don't know. The dr asked for her to remember her mom when she got back from her vacation and she busts out screaming. These images of splattered blood and her mothers eyes wide open flashes through her mind and then Sebastian's voice saying to look away and forget occurs. She blacks out. Split personality disorder to deal with the shock? This is turning out to pull me in just as Killer did. Maybe she did it and now can't deal but than Ashley's statement makes no sense. There is something I'm overlooking but I love the process to figure things out.
He can still walk even though he is on oxygen! That's a load of crap. I have even gotten ventilated patients up. They can get one of those wheel able oxygen tanks. The nurse and/or physical therapy can help him. He can't keep lying in the bed.
Oh I'm not saying he couldn't. He's just not. When I came in they had doing a breathing treatment. There six of there so we spent time talking. The O2 is hooked to the head of his bed so he stayed close by, obviously. Idk if he asked he never said. I'll ask. The nurses took him for a walk yesterday and than checked his O2 level.
Yes EB, Rach is right. Your Dad needs to be up and moving around...not overdoing it, of course, but definitely moving. It sounds like the nurse made him walk to see how he tolerated activity without O2...unless she had him hooked up to an O2 tank? And the incentive spirometer is key; he needs to be doing those deep breathing exercises. He probably has one by his bedside.
Rachel, I've read a few of the Brides of Beckham series, and so far they have all been safe. The first one in the series is a freebie, Mail Order Mayhem. It's one of the author's first books I think so it isn't as polished as some of her later ones, but it will give you a taste of her writing. The books are all fairly short; 50-100 pages, and the stories are usually sweet with a little bit of drama. I read MAYHEM as well as Mail Order Madness. So far I like this one better than I did those two, but it's a much later book--it's book 12 in the series, I think. I also have book 2, MAIL ORDER MAMA that I haven't read as yet. The one I'm reading now appealed to me because the h wasn't physically perfect, and the H is totally devoted to her. He's so proud to have her as his wife and is so ESTACTIC that she cooks so well, I don't think she could do anything wrong in his eyes. LOL The man who rejected her is a real peach...she certainly dodged a bullet with that one! I still can't get the scene out of my mind when the H took the h to introduce her to the store owner. I mean he'd just left not an hour earlier talking about how he needed a wife, and then he comes back with a fiancée. LOL
Anyhow, I'm going to TRY to get these kids to bed soon. I'm exhausted. I haven't been sleeping well lately. Last night I was up for a couple of hours between 2 and 4, then I woke up again at five and fell back to sleep shortly before I had to be up. Ugh!

I know sometimes it's hard as a nurse to push your patients out of their comfort zone, but tough love is needed at times. As long as he is stable of course - meaning his vital signs look good. I was just making sure they weren't telling you different LOL!

LMAO!!!!!!! You are too funny! Well good, I'm glad that's all it is ;) They actually have the Wild Western Women boxed set at BN for 99 cents! So let me know when you finish and I'll buy them all if they are nice, sweet and safe ;)
Good morning, ladies! No new freebies today. Granted I was a bit crossed eyed as I perused the section on Amazon--I'm that tired--but I didn't see any new books of note. That hasn't happened in a while though, so I wont complain. Plus I don't think any of us actually NEED more books. LOL Anyhow, I'm tired and have a crapload of, well, crap, to do, so I'll talk to y'all later.
Hi gals. I went to see dad his O2 was at 94 after I took him on a walk. Lol. Anyhow he was already off the O2 he was on and so for his levels to stay up there his dr said he may get to come home tomorrow. I asked him about a spirometer and he has one at home so he already has plans for that. Lol. Just thought I'd let you all know. I'm getting ready to get my new doo so wish me luck. I'm going in. Lmbo. Have a great day and get some sleep RF or your going to get sick again. Oh and drink water. Don't ask me why but something tells me you need to hear it.

Hey EB, I'm glad to hear your Dad is doing better. Hopefully he will get to go home tomorrow. You are so right about me and water...we are NOT friends! LOL Actually I hate water and have to force myself to drink it. I usually drink the flavored water, or seltzer water, but even that I have to constantly remind myself to drink.
I just finished reading VACATION WITH A STAR. It's by the same author who wrote BIG LOVE IN A SMALL TOWN. It was good; I liked it, but it wasn't as sweet as BIG LOVE and the sex was surprisingly more graphic. Nothing crude, mind you, but just more graphic than BIG LOVE. I guess because the books are by the same author an they follow a similar formula I expected them to be more alike. I definitely liked BIG LOVE better, but that's probably because I'm more in the sweet mood. Now that I'm done reading that book, I once again have the problem of deciding what to read next. Sigh! How's your book coming along?
Rachel, how are you doing with SAVING GRACE?

It seems that he really wasn't a manwhore so far, but there really isn't too much spoken about yet. I am still early on in the book. Like I don't know if he slept with the town slut and SUPPOSEDLY fathered the boy or if he didn't know she was like that. I'm not sure. lol

I don't think there will be any info on that; not anymore than you've already been given, that is. Which is fine by me; I don't like when there is a lot of focus on the H's past exploits--or the h's for that matter! As they say, ignorance is bliss! LOL

Good morning, ladies. Here are a few freebies for today. A FEATHER TO FLY WITH is a regency set romance about an unconventionally raised h and a H, a duke, who is looking for a wife to produce an heir and not interfere with his scientific pursuits. The book is written by Joyce Harmon who is one of the more "traditional" regency historical authors.

TIDES OF LOVE is about a h who is left penniless and homeless upon the death of her father. A man, who owes her father money, offers her a home with him and his family until he is able to repay her. There is a mystery involved as someone seems intent on killing the h. The H is a friend who tries to protect her.
THE MUSIC BOOK is about a h who is on the run from her father--she's English--and a H, a retired Prussian military officer, who is sent to England by King Frederick. According to the blurb this is a story about intrigue, betrayal, revenge, death and redemption, revealing a world of dark secrets beneath the veneer of 18th-century social glamour. I don't know if there is any romance.
RINGS OF PASSAGE is a time travel romance set around the time of King Richard the III. As a matter of fact, King Richard is the H.
TRUE COLORS is set during the American Civil War. It's about a h who leaves her home to tend the Union wounded in Virginia. The H is an intelligence officer. It's not clear if he's a union soldier or a confederate spy. Apparently the two get married, then the H is called away on an assignment. While he's away the h is kidnapped by Southern spies and taken to Richmond where she is shocked to find her husband dressed in the gray uniform of a confederate soldier.
That's it for today, ladies. I'm off to Mass at my daughter's school. TTYL!

Hi ladies more things on my to do list I'm afraid. I got all my laundry done and put away and the house is cleaned. It doesn't look that way long but it sure is nice while it lasts. I made enough dinner to last my family the weekend bc it's my busy time. I got my nine hour day today and 11 tomorrow. My nieces are coming over tonight after work to work on tutus. I have a color run this weekend so we're getting dressed up. Lol. My one niece and her daughter are spending the night. I also left the dark side for a while maybe longer. I read Seek and it was intriguing and I liked it however when reading the reviews for the sequels I knew there was no way I could continue. It also got me thinking that while I am excited for Stalker it too may not be be my cup of tea. The darkness in the Delerious series went so dark some reviewers said that the H from Seek(Sebastian) was not the same man in the last. My impression was it was detailed and long winded. It involved domination and I knew than it was not for me. I fear that she may use that twist in Stalker and it is said to be a standalone but I'm thinking there will probably be multiple books in this series so I am going to wait until reviews are out and see if I want to continue. I don't want to ruin the enjoyment I got from Killer. so I am trying to read Anne's Dream I just need more time. Lol.
The Seek series was about two friends who are tortured, brutally in a mental hospital. Lilith blocks out what happened but it was said they forced her to watch her friend Ashley raped. In the last book I guess it comes out what they did to her. In Seek she keeps fantasizing about Senastian and everyone tells her she's nuts and he's not real. Well at the end it comes out that he is real but claims he doesn't know her. You knew darkness is there but three books at 400, 300, 300 pages each is too much. I am afraid Stalker will follow that pattern.

Hey EB! Good morning! So SEEK sounds really, really dark. My GOD! Yes, I remember you said that the h kept dreaming about Sebastian, but everyone told her that he's not real. She and her friend were in a mental institution and got raped? Wow! That's horrible. The story follows what?...the period after they get out of the hospital? And when does she finally meet Sebastian? What's his beef? I know I got a lot of questions. I need to find the blurb and read that for myself and maybe that will answer SOME of my questions. LOL I just finished LOVE IN A SMALL TOWN about a divorced couple who reunite. Very sweet, VERY sexy!!

Okay, EB. I think I got it. SEEK is the prequel novella to the Delirious series. I see it's free, but I think I'll pass. The series sounds too dark for me. Call me an emotional coward. LOL Anyhow, I'm off to do a bit of housework. We have a very busy weekend this weekend. Lucian has a birthday day party and we have a birthday dinner for our nephew. Then tomorrow is THE big day...Hannah's recital. I was at the rehearsal for THREE hours last night; all after not being able to sleep since 4 a.m. yesterday morning. At least I got a better night's sleep last night.
Have a great day at work! TTYL

Yeah I went to the lighter side of things. Anne's dream the h Thomas who is nephew to the H in book 1 has came to the future and he just saw his first car. Lmao. He sees the tail lights lit up at night and thinks there demon eyes. The purr of the engine makes him think it's the beast and then he sees people climbing out. Lol. The clothes are scandalous and hair is not put up on the woman so they appear wanton to him. The other books are her recovering her memories. Her friend hates her bc she can't remember what they did to her. I'm not sure but with that many pages and three books I think the story gives tmi about the torture. Ashley has told them what happened but no one believes her and bc Lillith is off on her own planet it makes it worse. There are a lot of unanswered questions but curiosity killed the cat. Lol
Good luck with keeping awake but somehow us mothers always manage. We have no choice right. Birthday huh? That'll wake you up if his little friends come over. The recital sounds fun and exciting for your daughter and you guys. Lol. Enjoy!

Umm I'm with you. One book like that would be enough...three seems a bit much! I see too that the H is into BDSM; although it sounds like it's really intense. I'm passing. I think I'm gonna read one of those other second chance at love CRs we had on our freebie list a couple weeks back. The one I just finished was awesome! The H was TOTALLY COMMITTED to the h. I mean like, he hadn't slept with anyone since their divorce two years earlier and thought to himself that it would kill him if the h had slept with anothhr man. LOVED IT!
The party is for a friend of my son's. We'll take him over there this afternoon. I'm gonna see if I can get my hubby to be the birthday parent today. I have to get my daughter's hair done for tomorrow. Then later we all have to go out to dinner for my nephew's birthday. The in laws are coming down for the weekend...oh joy! They will be going to Hannah's rectial tomorrow. I did manage to get a good night's sleep last night, so that's good. Hopefully, it's the beginning of a new trend. LOL

I thought your son had his bday but I thought maybe it was your daughters. Good have fun. I'm off to work.

My son's bday is in March; my daughter's is in July. I'm in between right now. Thank God! I don't think I could handle a birthday party AND dance recital in the same weekend! LOL
I do remember that the H's nephew in EMILY'S WISH arrived from the past and their was a connection with a young lady in that time. Her parents were the ones who had originally come to the future right? So now ANNIE'S DREAM is their story, huh?
