Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments As for the cheating part. I think when I read a normal romance I go in with the knowledge of the h and H getting together. The main point in those reads is them meeting and eventually getting together. I fall in love with the couple hopefully and the thought of either straying pisses me off. This book isn't that sweet, new live developing it is already established and not a pretty story. I do think she needed to just divorce him but there is no emotional attachment for me with their marriage. It's a contemporary and erotic so the frame of mind is modern. I'm not saying marriage still isn't the same but it's just a different frame of mind. I would rather go this route versus watching Vanessa beat herself up over being unable to satisfy her disgusting husband. I don't know how I'll feel at by the end of the book bc I know Pheonix and her end up meeting again and it appears as though he abducts her. Again it's not clear and you can't skip a page bc you'll miss something.

Okay so what is the present--after the car crash? The past being the events of the party and her marriage before that? Sounds like she might be his redemption in Stalker and the brother in law is going to get the boot! LOL

Yes I hear you about it being different. The author has sold you one her story and that takes talent. I'm glad you're liking it so much. I'm jealous actually. If only I could find a book I love half as much, I'd be super happy!!!

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Omg so I have to go to work soon and it's a 11 he shift so I don't know if there will be time to update you but get this shit. They come out of he closet and Vanessa is loving the pissed off look she's getting from her husband. She further clings to Pheonix who proceeds to tell her taking woman is like sipping wine. Only take a sip. Otherwise, they might overpower you. Loved that.

So they flirt a bit more and he encourages her to go back to her husband bc he doesn't look happy. He hands her a glass of wine/ champagne and says give him this to ease his pain. Do you believe that? I'm like man this dude is slick. Good god it's going to be a long day if I can't get some reading in.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I just saw your new message while I was adding to mine. Idk who's coming out on top at this point bc as I said he handed her the drink but than said he had something's to finish so I am suspicious of that bc part of me thinks the drink she carries may not be what the author wants you to think. See to enter the party he choked a bouncer to death outside the back door ( oh, did I not mention that earlier) anyhow he said he was expecting him to go to the bathroom and pass out what if he wanted to choke him there. Oh but wait he followed the car bc he knew he'd pass out. See how this book as got me going? Lol. I hope u can find a book that suits you too. I am not going to be any help since I've went to the dark side and have no expected return date.

ROTFL That's pretty funny! That book really is dark. The H is an outright murderer and the h would rather sleep around on her husband than just toss him to the curb. My God, EB! You can't get any darker than that. But as you say, this is a prequel book. I'm thinking that the H will suffer a pang of conscience and the h will be his saving grace in STALKER.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments My client is sleeping so I have getting time to read. Omg girl this book is like lays potatoe chips can't stop with one page. Pheonix is observing the funeral and Vanessa is leaning on the brother in law and he is watching to make sure she doesn't rat him out. Are you ready for this the brother in law I think is the one who hired him. I'm not sure bc he is just referring to him as a liar like his brother who is pretending to be a good man. God this book rocks. This has to be her favorite I've read and u know I started out this year reading her series.

message 3158: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Okay so Vanessa is so desperate to feel love that she buys into the shit the brother in is shoveling. His name is Arthur BTW and so after the police tell her she's the prime suspect she calls and confides in him. He is slick and tells her to come to him for comfort. Nah I'm not buying bc when she shows at his door he is half undressed like she caught him by surprise but yet when they are undressing on the sofa guess who has a condomn in his pants pocket? Yea right he is setting her up I can feel it. Meanwhile Pheonix is watching with his girlfriend. Wait for it it gets more twisted they live together. Lmao she wants him to take her out so he takes to stalk Vanessa and pissed at Arthur touching her. Omg I can't believe I'm still reading this. I am pissed but rationalizing with both so all I can say is I better get to read what has fucked up Pheonix bc the man is ice. He only moved in with this woman for easy and frequent sex but talks to her like she's trash. Why do I want him to be the H? Idk but I do but only if CW sells me as why he's damaged goods and that he changes

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Oh no listen Vanessa finds out where he is living so she stalks his ass. Okay so he is in his apartment 30 minutes comes out with this huge bag. Lol. Vanessa is thinking wow it's brawd daylight he just doesn't care right. She then calls 911 reports that she has a killer after her. He just killed her and now he's after me. So she hangs up and follows him. He parks his car and is thinking how he just couldn't take his girlfriend any longer and it's her body in this bag. I'm like wtf is wrong with me bc I still can't put it down. Lol. She antagonizes Pheonix and now he's on her and choking and the popo is dragging him off and he realizes she outsmarted him. It is just dumbass curiosity that moves me forward bc where does the author take her story from here? I need to know but then I'm afraid of regret. Arthur is no prize to me he appears to adore her but she just wants him to feel loved not that she returns it. Now that killer man is in custody it leaves the possibility of her getting together with doormat but shit... The sex scene with him his more detailed but who cares there is something u with him. He's too nice like sneaky nice. He's after her money or something I can sense it but what do I know I can't even say why I'm so obsessed.

message 3161: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Ok stop rolling your eyes bc every time you think there's no way it's going to work there is another layer of information that comes out. This author is seriously blowing my mind up!!! I'm not saying anymore until I'm done bc ya all are probably like this whacked out ditz has seriously lost it

Okay, I've had it! WHO are you and WHAT have you done with my friend, EB???? LOL Girl you have gone super dark!! I think we're going to have to ban you from reading anymore CW books because this has gotten way, way out of hand. ROTFL Seriously, the books sounds f'd up! So, the brother in law is the one who hired Phoenix to kill his brother, although we're not sure why. The h jumps into bed with her brother in law now that her husband has died. BTW she really CAN pick 'em can't she? And ass of a hubby, now a murdering brother, AND Phoenix a cold blooded killer and user of women. WOW! I think she needs some therapy. I hope the author does show you WHY Phoenix is the way that he is, because otherwise you're gonna be pissed and I am gonna be pissed for you! STALKER should be really good though if this prequel is anything to go by. So now Phoenix is stalking the h; do we know why?

Good morning, ladies. Here are a few freebies for today. This first one is a Regency about a h who strikes a bargain with the H for some type of marriage. The mystery is WHY such a wealthy heiress should settle for a broke baron. The reviews are generally fair. A couple of reviewers commented that the H's sister is a real B who pretty much took over the story towards the last half--or maybe it was the last third. There is a bad guy and some intrigue. One comment that caught my eye mentioned something about a rapist being redeemed, so I'm not sure if maybe the h was a victim of rape and that is why she settled for such a seemingly unequal alliance.

ANNE'S DREAM sound alarmingly like another book that we've recently had on our list. The h and H are in different time periods, but they both find the same fountain and wish for true love. The H is then transported 200 years into the future where he meets the h. Sounds like EMILY WISH. OMG! I checked it out. This is book 2 in The Fountain series. EMILY'S WISH is book 1 and yes, they do have very, very similar plots...the wish by both characters and the H traveling 200 years into the future.

AN ALTERED SITUATION is a regency set romance about a h whose wealthy family has now experienced straiten circumstances after the death of her father. Her mother extracted a deathbed promise from the h to look after her younger siblings. The h is in love with her brother's tutor, but how can she marry him when her family needs funds. There is also something about the H's past that is a bit of a mystery. It is said that he is from a self-made family, but wants to establish himself away from the whims of wealthy families. He also had a romantic entanglement with the daughter of another employer that almost ended his career, so he is trepidatious about an entanglement with the h.

The first book in CALEN'S WIFE is free, but PLEASE BE AWARE that this is a serial novel. I believe it's published in four parts. It's unfortunate that Ms. Tizdale has picked up the bad habit of publishing books in sequence rather than as one complete story. I hate that! FYI CW is a highland romance set in the medieval period.

SOURDOUGH CREEK is a western about a h who decides to depart her dying Nebraska town and head to California and a new life. The H shows up claiming to be a friend of her uncle's and offers to protect her on her journey; the h has no idea that the H has ulterior motives for his offer. Okay I found a review that actually gave some info--the h inherited a claim from her uncle and that's why she decides to move to Cali with her younger sister. The claim was actually stolen from the H by the h's uncle and that is why he offers to accompany the h. Of course during the journey his motivations change as he falls in love with the h.

SWEPT AWAY is another western. I've read this one a while back. I really liked the story and gave it 4 stars. It's about a h who is in an accident when traveling west with her adopted family--who treats her like crap, BTW. Anyhow, the H is on a mission of vengeance to revenge his father's murder and reclaim his family's ranch. He finds the h half dead in a river and is forced to take her along with him. The story was good, and there were some really funny parts, but the romance was a bit overshadowed by the revenge plot, IMO. Here's the link to my review in case you wanna read it.

http://smile.amazon.com/gp/customer-r...

CHASING THE SUN is set during the American Civil War period. It's about a h who is left with the care of her younger siblings and the family's ranch after her father's death during the war. She needs a marriage of convenience. The H returns from the war to find his family's ranch has been seized--it's the same ranch where the h now lives. He and the h form an uneasy alliance and a romance eventually blossoms There is another man in the picture; the h's father's attorney to whom she turned for help when she first became concerned about her father. I think this lawyer has his own agenda. FYI this is an inspirational novel.

TOO DEEP FOR TEARS is an almost 700 page saga. LOL Anyhow it's about three half-sisters, each of whom was born in a different part of the world and is raised without their father, but have a connection through dreams. When they are older their father sends for them so they can be together. One daughter is Scottish, one is Chinese, and the other is English, born and raised in India. The book tells the story of each daughter and how being raised without their father affected them. According to the first reviewer, it's not really a romance, but has a strong romance element.

That's it for today, ladies. I hope you all find something to tempt your reading palates. TTYL!

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Good morning ladies! Okay well do u remember me telling you that at the beginning she sees her husband screwing this woman? Yes well as it turns out this woman was Pheonix girlfriend. You don't find this out until toward the end Vanessa gets done screwing Arthur and CW tells you Vanessa could see the love in his face ( skimmed bc I still don't like the two together).

Vanessa dad has connections and he checked into Pheonix license plate and when she finds out where he lives she leaves from her romp with weasel and goes to his place. She thinks nones there and she comes face to face with his girlfriend. When she realizes it's the same bimbo she barges inside.

It skips back to Pheonix who comes home to find his girlfriend tied to a chair. Coming up to her he knows she's dead. Closer inspection tells him that she was poisoned. CW describes it how he will miss her and can't believe her gone. He didn't like her but he didn't want her dead. He knows that it was Vanessa striking back and so what he does is cram her in this bag and loads her in his car in broad day light. That is Vanessa calls the cops and follows. She provokes him to get him to attack her. When they go to the police station she looks through the anterigation window to see him hand cuffed to this table and he looks back into her eyes and tells her he's going to kill her. She winks and blows a kiss at him.

So you think that's it well you'd be wrong bc then the last twist is that the two have a history. Yes, Vanessa and Pheonix knew each other years ago and this is before Pheonix was a killer. He was young and innocent and something happened to change him. It just blew my mind to think that even when she first approached him they shared this history. Whew. She is with Arthur at the end and they're having breakfast as she's shuffling through her mail. She finds one from Pheonix saying that it's not over and that he is coming for princess some way or somehow and she better run hard and fast. He signs it love (which has one line through it) and then corrected to say i am hate you to death.

Now I didn't clarify it for you but Pheonix went after Phillip ( Vanessa's hubby) bc he screwed his girlfriend. He says that was his pu$$y and no one takes what is his. This also includes Vanessa's. From the excerpt I think he kills Arthur in the next book but after this crazy ride nothing is as it seems. There is no way I am going to be able not to read it so you ladies are going to have to deal with this stranger a little longer. CW Bette release this book soon!!! When I did my review at 1:30 this morning bc I had to stay and finish I was arguing with myself bc it is so out of my normal. I have it 5 stars girl bc it blew my mind but the characters are shallow and one dimensional. I hope she does explain why Pheonix is the way he is and why he is so evil with woman. He has like a sociopath behavior bc there is no emotion with killing anyone anytime and yet Vanessa is not as sweet as we are lead to believe. She killed the gf and never thought twice like you killed mine so I killed yours and he took the wrap for both. God the book was like a bad crack habit. Lol

OMG! That book is definitely like a bad crack habit. The h and H sound horrible! So they are two psychos who knew each other years ago. Umm And Phoenix kills the hubby because he screwed his g/f. That's whack! She sounds like she was a whore of epic proportions so who cares who the hell she sleeps with. But the h is just as screwed up as the H. I don't know how the author is going to redeem those two psychos. But I guess if they end up together she doesn't have to because at this point, they deserve each other. What I want to know is HOW does Phoenix get out of prison if he goes down for TWO murders?! And to think that he is the one that turns out to be the stalker. I dunno how CW plans on turning that into a romance between the two. I just can't see it!

Anyhow, as crazy as it sounds, and as much as I don't want to read it, I confess that I can't wait for you to read STALKER and update me on what the heck happens next. U working today?

STALKER?! LOL Listen I hear you about the lack of romance not bothering you. I've read lots of books like that; so long as the rest of the plot is engaging enough it makes up for the lack, I am good. BTW as long as you're on the Dark Side, you really need to change your profile pic to one of these, until you come back into the light.

When I saw the wishing well book I actually felt like I had been through something and flashing back to memories of book 1 felt like a more innocent time. A life time ago. Lol. It was such a strange feeling to come out of that book. I had serious book hangover. stalker better not disappoint. I haven't had a chance to start the book bc I'm going to work on my blanket for a bit than dive in. I did laugh at the image of Pheonix coming out of his apartment building struggling to carry this bag and Vanessa watching thinking god he doesn't care who sees. At that point you don't know she was the one to kill her so I was snickering him discreetly stuffing her body in this bag ang carrying on like it was a bag of gulf clubs. Lol. I know I'm sick laughing about it but it was so nonchalant about his actions it made it funny.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Well dad went back to the hospital bc of his breathing again and I told them both all about the book and my dad said man would that be a great movie. I agree and guess what I started reading? Seek I got it back when it was free and it's a prequel to her delirious series. Girl I need frustrations bc my husband went to the doc and his kidneys are starting to fail him.

He gave him some medicine but it all comes down to diet and water water water. He hates it and drinks PPP and coffee. He said coffee would be ok but focus on water. I myself am a water drinker so I set him up with how I monitor mine. He's open to my suggestions. The other problem is he does not know his food groups. I tell him watch your starches and he doesn't know. Proteins are easy bc I don't like read meat so we do eat a lot of chicken turkey but when he fixes his plate it's 50% potatoes to 50% veggies and meats. He's asking questions so I'm proud of him. His blood pressure was good and he was proud of him without smoking. He was smoking a lot and just quit so yes he deserves praise. He's dealing ok but I can tell he's scared. Anyhow then on top of all that the house insurance idiots are dictating that we fix the roof and garage or they're canceling us. So yes a dark book would suit I think. I did enjoy the twists she added. Just please ladies don't disown me and I apologize in advance if I update you about my new habit. Lol

Oh man, EB! You've sure got a lot on your plate. How's your Dad doing? That's good news and bad news about Ken. You're right; if you all do it together as a family it will keep him motivated, plus your sons will see the importance of good food habits that will probably stick with them for the rest of their lives. But that is very stressful. I will definitely keep you and your family in my prayers and thoughts. Sounds like your dark book is exactly what you need...whatever works to take you away from reality for a little while!

The book I finished reading was the total opposite of the CW one you just finished. It was so sweet it was like cotton candy for the brain! LOL The H is a movie star filming in the h's small Georgia town. They meet when she waits on him one night--she's a waitress--and he is instantly smitten. So is she. They date for a few weeks then when he has to leave to go back to LA she pretty much freaked out on him and brushed him off. In her defense, the poor thing had just had her long term boyfriend breakup with her because he was moving away and he told her that long distance relationships don't work. So, I think when the H said he was leaving she just went into shut down mode. The H even told her that he was serious about her and that he loved her, but that just made her freak out more. They were separated for a couple of months and by the time she got her head together, she was sure that he'd want to have nothing to do with her. But then she received a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a card that said that not a day had passed that he hadn't thought about her and she owns his heart! Isn't that tweet?!! It's a novella, only about 70 pages. I have another book by the same author; another super star H, only this one is a rock star I think. I plan to read that one next. It's about as far from the dark side as you can get! LOL

Hang in there EB. This too shall pass. Keep the faith sister. Rachel, enjoy your run! I've been doing daily runs for the past week. I've decided that I'm going to make myself exercise everyday. It's just too hard when I take days off. I'll make some of them easy, and some more intense. At least that's my plan. LOL

It was Big Love in a Small Town. I really liked it. It isn't perfect, but like I said it was like cotton candy for the mind...tweet, tweet! ROTFL!

The other one sounds just as good; Vacation With a Star. The H meets the h, but she wants to have nothing to do with him. Next thing you know she's getting an all paid vacation from work. He is there and eventually she finds out that he arranged the whole thing. He too falls for the h from first sight. In the one I just finished the H told her, "you know when you know, and you're it for me!" Sigh!

OMG! I just looked up the author and realized that I have THREE other books by her, plus these two. Yes! If all her books are as sweet I might read them all back to back. I'm in a strange mood....nothing like EB, of course, but strange in the fact that I can't pinpoint exactly what it is. :-)

HIGHLAND WOLF PACT is a highland romance about a h who runs away from an arranged marriage right into the arms of the H who is a wolf/man.

LOVE RELEASED is set in the 1940s about a h who has recently been released from prison and settles in a mid western town with her nephew. The H is the sheriff who keeps an eye on the h and has to protect when some townsfolk find out about her past and cause her trouble. Please BE AWARE that this is the first book in an ongoing series. There are FIVE books in the series. Maybe I should even bother to list this book, but just because I don't like serials doesn't mean that no one else does.

SWEET ROMANCE BUNDLE is a set of three contemporary novellas by Kate Goldman. Included in the set is the book I read yesterday, BIG LOVE IN A SMALL TOWN. So Rachel make sure you grab this bundle!!

OREGON PASTOR'S WIFE is a quick western novella of about 30 pages. It's about a h who travels west to become a youth pastor in her g/father's church. The H is another youth pastor and the two form a bond. However, the church may not be able to afford all three youth pastors and may have to let one go. Doesn't sound very enticing, but sometimes the people who write the book descriptions have no imagination and do the poor author's work no justice.

TYCOON'S REVENGE is a second chance at love contemporary romance. It's been free on and off for a while, so maybe you all already have a copy, but it's never been on our list. In any event, the couple are separated for a period of ten years; each thinks the other betrayed him/her. The H finds the h and discovers he has a son.

WELCOME TO PARADISE is another CR. The h and H meet when they are both competitors on a reality show. The h is paired up with her then "not nice" boyfriend, the H with his brother. They are all competing for a million dollars. Apparently everyone wants to kill the h's boyfriend after only one day. LOL

TOO WILDE TO TAME is another CR about a bad girl h who hires the H, a private investigator, to find out who has distributed provocative pictures of her before her over protective brothers figure things out. LOL The H and h know each other and the H has always seemed immune to the h, but that's just not the case.

That's it for today, ladies. TTYL!

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Hi everyone. Hope everyone is doing well. I've been pretty busy today and haven't had time to read a word today. My dad is going t stay another day in the hospital bc the dr says he's still got a wheeziness to him. My husband has been hogging the bthrm with his water pill doing it's job. He's been drinking water really good today. My mom needed my help so I was over there helping her out. I have two roofing guys coming out to give an estimate on the house and then ill have the masonry man look at the garage. It has been very stressful I'm not going to lie but things are looking better. Everything at one time.

Hi EB! Glad to hear from you. I'm happy to hear things are looking better, although they do sound hectic! So you said the insurance company was forcing you to fix the house, otherwise they'll cancel the policy? That's what you said a couple of days ago, wasn't it? That does suck, but it sounds like you have things under control. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your Dad is able to come home tomorrow!

I've been busy too; although nowhere near as much as you have been. I haven't read either, but you know that's been my thing for the last week or so, except for that one book I managed to read yesterday. TTYL

Yeah I seen you finally got a book read. Congrats. I was going to read the well one by Mia but I am sooo much anticipating CW book I decided to read Seek. I started it and it sounds like another twisty, dark book. I just have been so busy taking care of business. Yea we had to renew our house insurance and they came out to take pics and came back telling us everything they wanted fixed. It just could have happened at a better time instead of all at once but I guess I should just be glad that I'm getting it done. So my hubby just came back from the store and guess what he brings back? Peanut butter cookies. I said Ken you cant eat those and he says but there PB. Does that give you an idea of his ideas on diets? I told him its the sugar that's hurting you the poor man is going through withdrawals. I told him lets get your kidneys cleared out bc the dr says there is sugar in his kidneys and the water, better diet and water pills should fix that but hes warning him that if he doesn't change his diet insulin shots are in his near future and dialysis.

Poor Ken! I feel his pain. My Mom is diabetic and I think it may very well be in my future. If that happens I'm screwed because I LOVE my carbs! Sigh! But you know PB is actually pretty low on carbs, around 7 I think, which isn't bad. What it's got is a lot of fat--most of it is good fat. But, the cookie part has got to go. Maybe if he just ate some PB when he has a craving for sweets or something tasty, that might help?

The insurance company is running a racket; "we'll renew, but we want to make sure you wont need our money any time soon, so you need to make all the upgrades now." Please! They LOVE to take people's money, but they never want to pay out. Whoever came up with the idea of insurance was a money making genius!

So you're reading another CW novel; SEEK?

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I'm going to try to read some tonight and yes another CW. Lol. The doctor told Ken to watch fatty foods. I told him PB is excellent for protein but he has to watch fats. He can have a serving which is Tbsp ( that's a lot) but if I leave him go he will live on PB sandwiches. Lol. Sugar is in my family too so I have to watch too. Ken loves his pasta, potatoes and breads.

So I got him stuff he can eat that he likes. Microwave lite popcorn he can have 3 cups at night to help satisfy his munchies. He loves green peppers and tomatoes that's a good habit. I also got him string cheese and some other meat choices. I also think he should just eat small meals and that will help him

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Oh and CW has another contest to win a free ebook you know the one I want and one of the conditions was to tag friends. Sorry if it's too vulgar. I know we've read worse but I wasn't sure if you'd want family and all friends seeing you tagged in it. I have certain family that would through a fit I just don't care. Lol. My mom brought up Killer to me again and said how good that book sounded. Lol. I loved the twists. Did you ever see the movie Twisted? It has Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd in it. If you ever get a chance watch that one it was good

Girl I don't care about what my friends and family think...they know me well enough to know I'm crazy. Besides my Mom is a reader and probably read the darn book before I would. LOL You know the funny thing is that I was watching a crime documentary the other day. It was about a couple on a crime spree that was into BDSM. One of the people being interviewed mentioned that FOSG has recently come out and the mainstream population had become more aware of BDSM because of it. I thought to myself, "mainstream didn't know about BDSM?" And I guess it's not that they didn't KNOW necessarily, but rather that they didn't either didn't know, or weren't too cognizant of exactly what it is. Then I realized that because I am a reader I am aware of so much more than people who don't. Reading opens up a whole world to you...places, things, people. It's pretty awesome! You learn so much from reading; and I'm not talking about text books, biographies, or anything that's remotely educational. We become aware of all sorts of things just from reading our regular, fun, light books. Isn't that cool? A lot of people don't READ unless they have to, or unless a book is popular...I don't know how they function. LOL That's what happened with FSOG--and a lot of other popular books--tons of people who don't normally read also read the book because there was so much controversy surrounding it.

LOL Yes, she needs your Kindle email address, but you need the email address from which she will be sending the book. You have to add it to your list of "authorized" email addresses so you can receive the email. You device can only receive emails from those addresses on the list. You go into Manage Your Content and Devices and go to Settings. I think you've done it before, haven't you?

I know I said I wasn't doing freebies today, but I noticed that book 2 in this series is now free. We had book one on our list the other day and it is still free. Here are the links for both books.

There is a third book available for $3.99. The series is about a once wealthy family that is now struggling after the death of their parents. Each story features one of the sister's bid for true love. FYI it's set in Regency, England. Enjoy!
