Yes, I can't stand serials. I only buy them when the entire set is available. I agree with you; he should have been able to tell that she was a wolf too. That doesn't sound very believable that he doesn't identify her as Lyan...listen to me saying that something about Lycan story isn't believable, as if LYCANS are real! ROTFL

So did he sleep with her then, not knowing she was a wolf? If he did, how does that affect their relationship? It's like you said, they don't just sleep together they have to mate. That would strengthen our view that he should be able to tell that she is part wolf. What happens if he does sleep with another wolf only wanting a hook up and then gets stuck because now they've mated?

message 3052: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments No his original mate was killed and he blames himself so he just wants hook ups. She believes it means more bc to her it was during their hook up the claws come out, literally. Lol. That is how he knows what she is and that's when he informs her it can never happen again. He makes it clear his mate died. I don't believe it.

message 3053: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Lol btw it is hilarious bc while I was writing my thoughts I was thinking the same thing. I think it's funny how we try to enter logics into wolves bc wolves are real. Rotflmao.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Okay you asked me why hawk couldn't marry. It's his own hang up bc he fell in love with a lairds daughter or thought he was. Anyhow he confessed his love to the girl and she laughs in his face. :( Now he once again is with a lairds daughter the main difference she chose to walk away from that and be apart of his dream

Ah I see. So one heifer messes up the poor man. How tragic! The h is a laird's daughter? She was beaten and raped, wasn't she? And now she's chosen not to return to her old life? I can understand that. Back then rape victims were treated as though it was somehow their fault.

Yes, we're both crazy picking apart the "unrealistic" parts of a LYCAN story!! ROTFL I get it about the h and H now. He found out she was a wolf after their first time together, but is now in denial about the fact that she's his new mate because of his guilt over mate #1. I hope he doesn't remain hung up on his old mate for too long; that could get tiresome!!

message 3056: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments What's more RF I mentioned it in my review. Lol. People everywhere shaking their heads.lmao. She was nearly raped. Badly beaten and tattered that's how hawk finds her.

Good morning, ladies. There isn't a freebie list today; not really. I only found the one new freeibe while perusing through the HR freebies. It's a new book; no reviews so far. It's about a h whose family is destitute and is taken in by a wealthy uncle. The H is a neighbor, a viscount. He and the h are immediately drawn to one another and love blossoms. Unfortunately, the h's cousin has designs on the H and makes life miserable for the h. Eventually, she extracts a promise from the h to have further to do with the H on threat of the h and her family being tossed out on the street.

http://smile.amazon.com/Enchanted-Sum...

http://smile.amazon.com/Wildest-Heart...

http://smile.amazon.com/ROMANCE-Paran...

WILDEST HEART is a western. It's about a h who was held as a sex slave and repeatedly raped. Now all she wants to do is to be left alone and raise her half breed child in peace.

ROMANCE: PARANORMAL OBSESSION is a set of two short stories, both of which include a paranormal aspect. The first one is about a h who is a bear shifter. The second is about a h who has a choice between two men; werewolf and vampire. The entire book is listed at 59 pages, so each story must be pretty short. It also doesn't sound as though either one of them is historical, so I don't know how it ended up in my search, but that happens ALL THE TIME!

That's is for today, ladies. I'm off to take my son on his class field trip today. We are going to a milking farm! :-) TTYL!

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Well now I feel human again. I slept like 12 hours. Lol. Nope, I'll pass on the book 328 pages of angst. I can't do it. I'm such a baby about books like that.

Hey EB! We didn't get to milk any of the cows, unfortunately--or fortunately, depending on your outlook. LOL I've yet to read a line...can you believe it? I thought I'd have some time for sure today because of the scheduling of dropping off and picking up kids, but it didn't work out that way. I really have to get on it and finish this book I'm reading!

So you didn't get the ENCHANTED SUMMER book, huh? What makes you think it's full of angst? From what I can tell they fall in love pretty early, but at some point the evil cousin separates them. I'm not sure how long that goes one for, though. I'm with you; if it goes on for any extended period of time, then I won't read the book either. Who needs all that emotional torment?

Anyhow, I'm finally back at home; I plan on trying to get some reading done. At least for a little while.

message 3061: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I'm glad you had a good time. The cousin telling her to stay away or she'd have them tossed out sounded angsty to me. No other reviews to tell me otherwise. Sounds like torment. Who knows it may not be. Im still reading Loch I've had a lot of interruptions and am almost done.

Yes I do see your point. I downloaded it and will have to give it a once through before I read it. You know how I roll! LOL There's no way I wanna get stuck reading a book where the H and h are being forced apart for half or more of the story.

BTW I just saw a reviewer whose profile name is "IMNotU" He also added the caveat "Don't bother replying to one of my posts. I don't care who you are or what you think." Isn't that awesome?! I should add that to my name too. Like really, I'm allowed my opinion. Who cares what you think about it? LOL

Oh girl I was reading reviews for this product and noticed the reviewer's profile name. You know how yours is Elizabeth Bennett, Looking for One Good Man...is that it? Anyhow, his is IMNotU and then he added the, don't leave comments because I don't care who you are or what you think. It's perfect for those people who like to leave comments and tell the reviewer that their opinion is incorrect. Here's the link to his review so you can see his profile name.

(Ahem)well that was different. After reading a couple reviews I can safely say they do not care. There was 3 comments on her review on some $149.00 Tarot cards. LOL. They sound like a young person dripping with attitude. You do not strike me as such and while you may not care what others think I think it deters nice comments too. The ones that occasionally asking questions or simply complimenting your POV. That's how I met all of you BTW. You could update your profile to read a little different. Me I'm still searching for one good man one book at a time and have them all corralled on an island. LOL. Could you all imagine all of our favorite H's together on an island fighting for our affections. Now that's a book I want to read. A HR version of the bachelor. LMAO.

Please I know you were kidding. I'm not sure I thought about that a couple days ago. I hope all is well, that all her grandkids don't have her tied up in a back room. LOL. Too much Stephen King when I was younger. It is odd how we all met. Have you heard anything from Lark lately? I have reading books I know she's not into so... BTW I keep coming across Christi Caldwell Forever Betrothed, Never the Bride the scnd review down labeled UUMMMM...SPOILERS!! I will seriously never read that book. Here's the link http://www.amazon.com/review/R1VCULIV... I can't believe they said he redeemed himself. I a however appreciative because they were honest and shared that much even though I see it different she was open with her experience. You know I was thinking when I typed that why Derek Craven never bothered me. He met the h and sends her back home bc he starts to like her too much but doesn't think it would work and sleeps with one of his prostitutes. I still love him. It's so weird. I think the fact that he called her Sara (the h's name) and believed he just wasn't good enough for her helped. When you hear his background and him having to fight for everything he got I found it believable that he didn't immediately turn devoted to her. He never had anyone and was use to taking what he wanted. One of the big mysteries I still have to remind myself I have read a book where the H sleeps with someone else even after meeting the h and having the spark.

I read it; I agree with you. It's not one that I will read either. True, I might read it and love it, but with so many other books to read I'm sure I'll find another to love. One of the main things for me, aside from the fact that he slept with a woman after he and the h formed a connection, is the fact that they were engaged. That's deal breaker. It's not just that they met, felt a connection, and he was fighting. THEY were ENGAGED, which means that he had to marry her at some point. If he feels a connection to the woman he's supposed to marry then goes ahead and has an affair anyway, what's to stop him AFTER they are married? At least, that's the way I look at it.

You and your Derek. He could commit murder in front of you and you'd still testify in court on his behalf...self defense or some such nonsense. ROTFL!

Yes I've been in touch with Lark. We email back and forth periodically. I actually had an email from her today. She's doing well.

message 3070: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I agree with the engaged part I ion no way was making light bc of my Derek. He thought him doing Sara a favor by releasing her. I really think it's bc he's not perfect. He's speaks cockney and is rough around the edges but when it comes to Sara he strives to be a better man. Other H have done it but no one does it like Derek does. I wish I could explain it better bc others just blow him off and think he's ridiculous. Someone actually told me that book was laughable. I was crushed. Lol. I felt deflated bc I adore the book. Oh well I guess I'm the one on a deserted island with that one...with all my men. Lol

The difference is that Derek intended for him and Sara to be done when he went off with his opera singer. And back then he really wasn't good enough for her; not according to their standards. It simply wasn't done. In the other book the h and H are engaged. What's he gonna do? Break the engagement? Is there a way to do that honorably? Ugh! LOL

message 3073: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments True. If the books I have read are true it's the woman who can break the engagement. Otherwise it's like u said disgraceful

Yes that's the way it was back then. But too, it could ruin a woman's rep. She's seen as a jilt. Anyhow, the review said nothing about them breaking off the engagement, but maybe he forced the h to do so? It's not clear. But either way I'm not reading it. I do have Derek's book to read though. That will be whenever I get back to Regency England. Only God knows when that's going to be!

Good morning everyone! Here are a couple of freebies for today. This first one SEEKING SCANDAL is a regency, second chance at love. The h is bogged down by familial duty, so much so that she rejected the proposal of the man she loves because he is not titled. Two years later they reunite in London. The h has decided that she wants to have a little "fun" before she settles down. Her chosen partner, the H.

http://smile.amazon.com/Seeking-Scand...

http://smile.amazon.com/Wish-Might-Th...

http://smile.amazon.com/CLOCKWISE-you...

WISH I MIGHT is about a h who is in love with a man who sees her only as a friend. She makes a wish for a lover like her friend, only one is who mature enough to see her as a woman. This leads to a passionate encounter with her friend's arch enemy who is the man who fathered him and abandoned his mother. Now the h is torn between this man, to whom she is "wildly attracted" and her friendship. This is a novella of about 100 pages.

CLOCKWISE is a young adult time travel romance. It sounds pretty cute with a h who keeps traveling back to the past and has no control over it. At one point she accidentally takes the cutest boy in school back with her.

That's all I got today, ladies. Three new freebies; and I think CLOCKWISE has been free for a little while, but never made it on our list. TTYL!

Hi CC! I am so glad you can't get sick talking online. LOL. I have always been blessed with my health. I had a very mild sinus issue this past winter and that was it. I am obsessed with washing my hands and not touching my face but my kids are also older. I think when you have little ones they are germ carriers and as a mother you are the one giving the kisses and hugs and you end up sharing more than a tender moment. RF has had a bad go of it this year coming down with something at least every month it seems. I hope it doesn't stay long. I hope you can at least find a good read.

Hi EB, hi CC! You know me so well EB. My head is so stuffy I feel like it's about to explode, so reading it out for me at the moment. Every time I try to read my eyes and head hurt. Sigh! If it wasn't for the fact that I had to take my son to preschool today I don't think I would have gotten out of bed. went back to bed in between dropping him off and picking him off. I'm going to lie down on the couch now until it's time to pick up my daughter from school. I don't know what it is this year, but it seems every time I turn around either myself or one of the kids have been sick. The sad part is that I spent all day yesterday being convinced that it was just my allergies. I realized my error in the evening when I ended up with mild fever. Ugh!

God love ya, CC! TEN DAYS!!! I hope you get back to normal soon. I cannot even conceive of being sick for that long of a period. I'm hoping I'll be back to some semblance of normalcy by the end of this weekend. Well I'm off for the sick couch. LOL Enjoy your reading! TTYL

Sleep well RF. CC the cough that does not go away is bad. I use to get brocchititus every winter and that's what I had to get through twice with in the season. My dr told me water would help break it up but it seemed to make it worse. Honestly at the first signs I try taking Zyrtec and if it seems a little worse I get a script for cough syrup. That is what I did this year and after 3 days it was gone. Halls cough drops can help but it's just the lack of sleep bc you can't lay down that gets you. Hope you don't have it much longer. I'm finally on book 6. I say that like I've read it for days I started book 2 yesterday after Where you least expect.

Thanks, Rachel! I'm hanging in there. It's been a tough year with illnesses for us. We've never been in such a bad way before, EVER. I never did my CCRN, but I did do my TNCC. I know how it is having to get the hours of CEUs in. It sucks. I too used to procrastinate like crazy! And every time I did I would swear that next I wouldn't wait until the last minute...but then I would the same thing. LOL Good luck! :-)

EB no I don't have any plans. The one thing I did want to do is go on a date night with my hubby and see the Avengers...FINALLY! But with the way I'm feeling I don't know if we'll make it. Maybe I'll feel up to it by tomorrow. I certainly hope so because my in laws are down for the long weekend and could watch the kids for us.

Brian went to work for a little bit today, so I'm glad my mother in law is here to deal with the kids. She actually just got back from shopping with my daughter; she needed a dress for her May Crowning at school this week. She needed one dress, she came back with FIVE!!!! That's what happens when you have your grandmother wrapped solidly around your finger...I should be so lucky. LOL I managed to read a few pages earlier this morning, but I've been busy trying to catch up on some stuff I couldn't get to yesterday. I'm also trying to take it a little bit easy, but you know how that can be. Taking it easy with kids is almost impossible.

Hi guys! Happy Memorial Day! I hope you're all having a good holiday weekend...safe, fun, and relaxing! I'm feeling much, much better this morning. Thank goodness! I actually manged to get some reading done and finished the book I'd been reading for the past week! I started another one this morning, Broken Wings.

It's been on my TBR list ever since I downloaded it a couple of months ago--it was one of our freebies. It's a time travel romance; the H travels back in time from the 1990s to the 1940s. For some reason the storyline appealed to me, which is a little strange because I usually don't like TT romance where the H travels from one time to the other; for some reason I prefer when it's the heroine. I also don't like books set in the 1900s--early or mid. It's my least favorite time period. But, like I said it appealed to me and since I've had it it's been calling to me. So, I finally capitulated today. LOL Hopefully I wont be disappointed. It's too early to tell how good the story will be, but I can say that the author has talent...it's well written.

Anyhow, there's no freebie list today...you know I take holidays off. LOL But I did come across this freebie box set. It's the first three books in Lynne Raye Harris' HOT series. The first book in the series is currently free, but the next two--which happen to be novellas--are currently selling for $2.99 each, so the freebie box set is nice! Here's the link. FYI I've read all three and loved them! This series is one that I definitely intend to finish. Each book can be read as a standalone.

http://www.amazon.com/Hostile-Operati...

I also found this paranormal regency romance. The h has the ability to communicate with spirits. The H's mother invites the h to the family estate to solve a mystery surrounding the death of the H's late wife. TTYL!

No word from Kate as yet, but then again I just finally got around to emailing her today. I meant to do it a couple of days ago, but never did. Yes, Rachel I do feel much, much better. Still stuffy, but I can live with that...and I'm guessing I'm gonna have to for a few more days at least. LOL

Which book are you trying to read next, EB? I checked out your review for UNDER THE BRIDGES. I didn't get that one when it was free; I don't know, but the blurb didn't grab me.

The one I'm reading now is pretty good so far. The H just landed in the h's time period. She caught sight of him through the plane window and was shocked speechless because he looks just like her late husband. I'm thinking that the H might actually be her reincarnated husband in a later life who's now back. He's injured and past out so there's been no conversation between them as yet. It will be interesting to see how things develop.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I hope we hear from her soon. I was trying order up it was a KS book I got but I'm not sure it's the right time for that one. UTB was ok the author did a good job of putting you in the time but it was nothing gripping. I donated blood this morning bc I'm -O and I filled baby bags. Awwww but it's good to know its there if they need it and I could help one. I am in the mood for a book that has a second chance romance with a psycho. It's probably going to need to be CR but I will go through my books

Yep, that's sounding like it's very much going to be a CR. I'll check my books too to see if I can find anything that fits that criteria.
