I loved the personalities in Death Comes To Pemberley but Lizzy and Darcy were the worst looking characters in the movie and they should have outshined everyone. Lidia was too pretty and Mrs. Reynolds looked the same age as Lizzy. The fine eyes were non existent and the Colonel was too dry. What the world. See my main issue is I want to compare every Darcy to Colin Firth. LOL! They could have done a great deal better but the story is good. Okay so Darcy didn't have pock marks but he wasn't handsome either. I did like the relationship and how it was portrayed by the two until spoiled Lidia invited herself. I know I'm a mess. ROTFLMBO! So you keep saying I hate to disappoint. :)

OK, enough with the crazy joy. I just got my first book from that blog site. It's a paranormal romance, and it looks yummy delicious. It's listed on Amazon and already has several reviews, so I'm not sure why they want mine, but that's fine by me, because the book sounds good, and it's only about 180 pages long. I'm gonna start it as soon as I finish the one I'm reading now.
EB/AS thanks for thinking of me when that reviewing opportunity came up. It's a good way to get free books--not that I really need anymore--but more importantly, it will give me another focus during the winter. This is only my third winter and I find them depressing. The last one was a sort of mini-hell. Hopefully, this one will be better. I've been trying to prepare myself mentally. :-) Remember I only lived in England for five years, then it was sunshine in Jamaica, Florida, then Cali for the next 40 years of my life. This winter stuff is all foreign territory for me.

Hey guys, here's a link to an anthology of four novellas. I have this set and have read it. I really, really enjoyed it. It was amazing to me how the four stories were tied in together, even though they had all been written by different authors. They are all set at a house-party, held to celebrate the Duke's wedding. Three of the stories are about the romance between two of the wedding guests--the fourth is about how the Duke finds love with his intended's sister. LOL
Anyhow, I see this is now available for .99 cents. I believe the regular price is $4.99--I remember getting it on sale for $2, I think. Each story can be purchased separately, anywhere from $1.49 to $1.99 each, so this sale price is a sweet deal.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D...
One is a time travel romance. The h gets thrown back in time. She is a history student. The hero saves her from drowning. He is a guest at the duke's house-party and the h ends up joining the party as well.
The first one is LOL funny about an irresponsible, but sweet hero, and a over the top responsible heroine. The hero is cousin to the duke, and is his best man. He loses the ring! LOL The heroine is companion to a relative of the Duke. The h is an orphan and has always lived on the Duke's estate. Consequently, the h and H have known each other since childhood.
A third one is about a brooding hero who falls in love with the woman his cousin is trying to woo. He writes letters to the h on behalf of his cousin, at his cousin's behest--he doesn't know how to talk to women--and in the process falls in love with her. They finally meet face to face at the Duke's wedding house-party. The hero is scarred; his cousin is physically beautiful.
Then you have the duke falling in love with his intended's older, widowed sister, who is the black sheep of her family.

RF~ I haven't heard anything from them. I thought they would at least send me an e mail letting me know they were still setting things up. Who knows maybe they got all their peeps now. They said something about going to Hawaii. That must be nice. LOL

There is a video that explains but to anyone interested Amazon is sending various books by authors that have never been published. You read a portion of the book in various categories and can nominate up to 3 of your favorites. It stays on the board for 30 days when the time is up if your chosen books get enough votes it is published and they will send you the book for free. If anyone else is interested let me know I can send you the link.

The woman who contacted me today, Natalie, said something about starting a chat group and my being able to grab the books I wanted to review. Not sure when she's planning on doing that, but it sounded like it would be soon. The book she sent me, she sent directly. It was in epub format. She says in the future, some of the books would come directly from the author. Anyhow, she just sent me a FB message this morning, so who knows? You may be hearing from them soon.
BTW, check out my comment with the link to that set of four novellas. It's an anthology and one you might like when in the mood for some light reading. I just edited the comment and added a brief synopsis for each story.

RF~ Did you get the page to open okay? I read right from my computer this morning and chose two that were kind of neat. There isn't a lot of Historical Romance and pay attention to the bottom of each book description because it defines the genre more clearly. I started reading one listed under romance about dragons and then realized it was a gay romance. When I went back to the main page I saw that it was marked. Just saying so you don't waste your time unnecessarily. You know what I'm saying...not my thing. I did find two that I liked.

Haha Ya, I hear you. I've read a couple, but they're not my thing either. There was a freebie yesterday where the hero had been a male prostitute or some such, with women. Anyhow, from the reviews I gathered there is a scene where, in order to save the h from some kind of threat, the hero lets a man have sex with him. I'm like, huh? WTF? If it's a gay romance that's one thing, but for a so-called straight man to let another man rape him to save the heroine, that's just asking too much of me as a reader!

Reading Fanatic wrote: "BTW EB, you notice that that book I was talking about earlier...the one with the hero who takes it in the butt (LOL) did NOT make it on our freebie list! I didn't think any of you would want to re..."RF~ NO BUTT BUDDIES PLEASE!! ROTFLMBO! My hero must be a ladies man only, although I have read books one from Gaelan Foley where the H was molested when younger. He had a very low opinion of himself because of it but there were no real details (thank god) and the h helped learn to love himself again. She actually had a couple in the one series she did. Prince Charming was one of the books. I liked the couple in this book but there are parts I just immediately go to avoid other parts.
I was super surprised when I read that the author had the H being molested by a man--and not when he was a kid, but in present day! I was like, she must be crazy! That's not going to appeal to the mainstream historical romance reader. The hero was apparently a tortured individual. He was raised by American Indians, I think and had sold his body to squawks to eek in order to survive. His stepfather was cruel and didn't train him to be a warrior or some such. Then when his real father came for him, he sold his body to ladies of the ton in order to fit into society. In other words he was just a whore, but doesn't sound like he was any more so than the average whorish hero. LOL But, when they had him giving in to another man in order to protect the heroine, I'm sorry, but that's just not sexy, nor heroic!!!! As one reviewer said, I want my heroes to kick ass and make no apologies, not take it up the butt. ROTFL
The book I got sounds good. I did my usual reconnaissance, by reading the end already. LOL Anyhow, the H is a tiger-shifter. The heroine is human, but she's fed up with men and failed relationships, so she goes to this dating service, PDA (paranormal dating agency) because one of her friends (an h from a former book, I think) had been so successful in finding her mate through the agency. I'm not sure if the h knew the male would not be totally human, but we'll see. He doesn't "do" love, but needs a mate to give him cubs (yes, cubs! LOL) in order to secure the line. He's the leader of his pride, but there are others who want him gone. So there is some intrigue with people after him, and consequently her, because they cannot allow him to procreate. I'm looking forward to reading it!

Hey Kate, how are you? I read a few reviews for OUTLANDER a while back. It's quite the controversial book. But, I could tell it was one that I didn't want to read. I got he impression that the author substituted shock and awe for good writing--sodomy, whippings, and whippings, and more whippings. I actually started to tape the series, but ended up deleting it. I didn't like the heroine. LOL
Ya, I figured no one would be into that freebie with the sodomy scene. It was way too way out there for the average romance reader, I thought.
No I've never read ADAM'S PROMISE, but I certainly will check it out. I do love a story where the plain Jane wins the hero. Sigh Brash was super sweet, but I really wished it had been longer.
It sounds like you're taking full advantage of your KU benefits. Lark told me that you're limited to ten books at a time? Did I get that right? I might have to take advantage of my free thirty day trial period, one day soon.

In Adam's promise the H sends back to England because the beauty An old girlfriend has become a widow and he is a widower. He sends the request to her father but the father sends the plain one instead. He is shocked when the wrong sister arrives and blurts out his anger. Yes I did EB. First I downloaded the book to my computer. My computer used the free Kindle app to open the book. I thought it was really weird that the Kindle app could open my book, but I couldn't download it on my Kindle device. Makes no sense! Anyhow, I then connected my Kindle to my computer using the USB port. I went into the downloads folder in my computer, copied the file, then clicked on the documents folder in my Kindle device and pasted the file. Right after I did that, I went into documents on my device and the book was there. When I tapped on it, it opened and looks just like any other Kindle book. Very strange. If you need step by step help, we can chat on IM on FB. Let me know. I'm gonna dash and take a shower and we can chat after that if need be.
BTW what type of book did they send you?

OOOOOH that sounds like my type of book. I"m gonna go find it right now. I read another book that was a little similar to that one. It was a mail-order bride story. One guy advertises for a wife who can be a help-meet, cook, bear children, etc. He doesn't say anything about looks. The h answers the ad, but when she gets there the guy rejects her, insulting her physical appearance. She was so calm and kept herself together, she impressed the H, who was nearby and overheard the exchange. The H immediately proposed to the h himself and took her off to be married by his brother-in-law, who was a judge. LOL The H was so happy with her, but she had insecurity issues relating to her looks, poor thing. The great part of the story is that the first man who rejected her ended up with a beauty who made his life a living hell! Even I felt sorry for him. LOL

Yes that was it. LOL I purchased it...couldn't resist. All three books sell for $4.99 each! So that's .99 cents for $15.00 worth of books. You can't beat that!

Hey Kate, no it wasn't a Nordin novel. I can't remember the title or the author right now. I do remember the book read like a year in the life of...because it pretty much followed the events of the couple's life together over the period of about a year. It had a great premise, but I believe it ended up being an OK read. I'll have to investigate further. Will give you an update. LOL

G'morning, ladies! Here's today's freebie list!

The second book sounds like it might be a fun read. Three sisters inherit a ranch (farm?) and the eldest come up with the idea to get mail-order husbands for them all, so they will have help running the property. LOL This first book is her story, although it sounds like all three men may have come to town at the same time. Haha
The third book is ....???? I'm not sure. The main guy sounds evil, with plans to do away with the heroine's family because he thinks by right he should've inherited the estate and title (he's a cousin) but I don't know how the heck that turns out, because the blurb says something like "can Jane save him from himself?" So, who knows? Maybe he was rehabilitated? But another review says something about although the bad guys plans were thwarted, people still died, people got hurt, etc. So, I have no idea about this book. The beauty is, it's free so I can always download and check it out before reading it.
The fourth book is actually a series, a set of three books. It's a post-apocalyptic romance...definitely paranormal-like.
FYI LOVE FOR DESSERT is a contemporary romance. The H is an undercover agent. Love sexy heroes who are FBI, CIA, Texas Rangers and the like! Sigh
In OVER HER HEAD the hero is a merman!
I'm not sure about the last one. The cover looks contemporary, and the blurb gives no info about the time period. It's also a series, but I'm not sure if it's a continuing series, or a stand alone book. The reviews are mixed.
Here's a set of four full-length medieval romance novels for .99 cents! The books are by author, Kathryn Le Veque. The books all sell individually for $4.19 each!

I definitely love the mail order bride books!
Love for Dessert is right up my alley too! lol
Mermen? I read a fantastic trilogy on Mer-people, my first ever mermaid type books. Here is the link to the first one: http://smile.amazon.com/Fins-romance-...
I have all 3 and they are loanable. ;)
Grabbed that set of 4 medieval romances also. :)
Here are two that I found free on my wish list today. :)

When I grab a free book in a series, I tend to add the rest of the books to my wish list...if I have time. So sometimes I have no clue about the ones in my wishlist because I haven't read any in the series yet. lol

I do exactly the same thing. I actually have all the WESSINGHAM books, except one. That last book in the series has never been free, to my knowledge. I've been waitning for it forever. Did you grab book one when it was free a few days ago? I'm sure I included in one of the lists.
Ya that set of four books for .99 cents was a steal. I checked them out and all the books were $4.+ each! Did you get the one from yesterday too...the Highland Heroes one?

No I have not but was he the Henry who only believed in bathing once every 3 months or something like that? It wouldn't matter how hot he was if that was the case. LMBO! EEWWW. I will look it up and get back with you. It's got me curious. I'm not sure but he also played in Troy as the older, brave brother and was HOTTTA!
