Freebies Available on Amazon Today
Good morning, ladies. Here are a few freebies for today. This first one is a repeat freebie from back in October. It's about a modern day h who makes a wish at a well; the regency period H makes a wish at the same well during his own time. Next thing you know the H has traveled through time to the h.

GENTLE BEAST is a regency romance with a beauty and the beast theme. That's all the information book blurb gives. There are three reviews; two reviewers rave about it; one says it bored her to tears. There you have it. LOL
WESTWARD WINDS is about a wealthy h who answers a mail order bride ad. She corresponds with who she believes to be her future husband, but in reality it's his brother. The h and H struggle to adjust to each other when they meet. He needs a helpmeet and mother for his kids; she doesn't know how to keep house or care for children.
SUMMER OF PROMISE is about a h who travels west to visit with her sister about whom she's worried. While en route her stagecoach is attacked and the H, an army lieutenant saves the day. The h is supposed to get married when she returns to Vermont, but as time passes she finds herself drawn to the H; he is determined to persuade her to stay. I love a book where the H is the one who convinces the h about their love. Sigh.
LOVE CHANGES is book three in the Leap of Love series. We've had a couple of the other books in the series on our freebie list in the past; STOLEN KISSES and LOVE STORM. Anyhow, in this book the H returns from the Civil War to discover that he's been declared dead. He convinces his fiancee to move with him, but she doesn't like their new home and wants to go back to the south. In the meantime, the H and his fiancee's companion begin to get closer. Is it me, or does this plot sound horribly close to another one book I recently posted on our list...H falling for companion of his fiancee?
SHATTERED LIVES is book one in the Flynn Family Saga. We've had books two and three on our list previously. The is an ongoing story; the h and H is the same in all three books. In this first book we get the story of how the couple first meet. It's set around the Civil War time.
JOURNEY OF THE BRIDE and SAVING THE BRIDE are both parts of the same story. Each is very short; under 40 pages and depicts the story of a h and H who meet via a mail order ad. I believe the brother is one who instigated the whole mail order bride thing and by the end of book one the H sends the h away. In book two he has to decide if he wants her because she is now being forced to marry another man.
WHAT THE NIGHT BRINGS is a set of three books. Two are vampire romances the other is about a couple of have loved each other for thirty years, but she is married to another person; how depressing!
That's it for today, ladies. FYI I will not be posting a freebie list tomorrow; it's my daughter's First Communion. I'll be back on Monday. Have a great weekend!

I got it from Amazon for $1.99. It's called Fragment by Ellie Wade. Yesterday was the last day it was on sale I seen now it's $7.99. If it's a loan able I can loan it out to whoever wants it. I'll let you know when I'm done. RF I hope everything goes well for you. Are you going to be cooking for everyone too? How many? I love cooking and entertaining. I made chicken fajitas Wednesday and then made chicken casadias last night with then

Of course YOU love to cook and entertain. Me, not so much. No surprise there. LOL Anyhow, no no cooking. The family is coming over after the Communion, but I'm having it catered. Nothing fancy; just a few trays from a local grocery store...Roche Brothers. They do awesome food and baked goods! I even ordered the cake from them. I know I must be a huge disappointment to you, Mom. ROTFL
And thanks! I'll need all the good wishes I can get to get through today and tomorrow. Yesterday was pretty hectic too, but I survived. I had a million things to do, but instead of dropping off my daughter at her practice I ended up staying and helping. Oh well, she loves it when I'm around and involved in whatever she's doing. I might as well take advantage while it lasts.

You say it's nothing fancy but anything catered to me is fancy. Lol. Everything ever done in my family was pot luck. My wedding reception was pot luck and was the best food I've ever had at a reception. I am biased though. My friend ordered my cake bc as much as I like to entertain I was really enjoying everyone fixing everything for me. Anyhow I am reading Fragment bc I couldn't help it. The poor girl just does not cover it. Btw it was her first time. Her friend is nothing but a slut and would have probably done all of them willingly. Lol. I'm just glad I had better friends than she did.
Thanks for the list RF and have a great day with your daughter!! How exciting! I wonder if she will get another massage for the pains of standing and kneeling at the alter?!? Lmao!!!!Have a great day ladies!!! Off to work I go shortly!
Oh did I mention RF that the H is a fireman? A hot fireman. Lol. Okay go back to focusing on your daughters communion. Just thought I'd share.
Omg he just made his entrance and I can't wait until they start to open up. She doesn't trust good looking men after what happened. The book jumped ahead 5 years. Lexi the friend that was with her doesn't have a clue of what happened to her just that she pulled away from her. Cam and Deacon just had a face to face and that's all I'm saying for now
Lol!!! That sounded a lot like a book I read from E. K. Blair. The hero was great too but in the beginning, he could have fought harder and I think he was a manwhore prior to the heroine. I am TRYING to read books where the heroes are just plain decent guys so we will see with your book haha CA's men are definitely decent!
This man is no man whore. So far no woman is even mentioned. He is trying to figure her out and she keeps pushing him away.
He is a wan's wet dream. Seriously the man has this great group of friends and he has his own place. He's got this bbq thing happening and Cam is just so scared. He's forcing her to deal with her past and not even aware of it. The h had a fling with this co worker and just broke it off but seriously I will tell you what she is going through it is typical. She's stronger than she thinks but it's getting juicy now. I want to go on a walk so I'll have take a break but this one really works for me. There is one real buff guy nicknamed Tiny. I just love when the author adds side characters that bring out the H and his character bc you judge people by the friends they keep. Let's just say this Lexi has some work ahead of her to make me like her. I think I'm hard on her bc I had a friend like her. Thank god I didn't go through what Cam did but she is so self absorbed she doesn't even realize something from their trip changed her friend. She has hinted but she just moves on to the next guy or party.
What I meant to say is Deacon is a woman's wet dream. He's not just hot but he's worked full time for the fire station for six years. He's got his own place good friends but from what Cam has been through you can see why she is scared. He knows she's scared of him and keeps running away at any given opportunity but just doesn't know why. While his boss seems to enjoy his fun with Lexi he just isn't coming across like he just wants a one night stand. He's ready to move forward into a good relationship with a good girl and Cam has gained a response from him on a deeper level than any other.
I never had communion. I was a missionette with the first Assembly of God. My brothers were royal Rangers and trail blazers. I remember they got to go camping and play sports outside and we had to wear skirts and panty hose and listen in the chapel to sermons. I use to get so upset at the double standards bc at home things were divided between me and my brothers. Then they held a banquet in honor of our achievements and badges we earned. The night of the banquet we were informed we had to serve our parents. My brothers had their ceremony the week prior and it was catered but ours we were the servants. I can't tell you how upset that made my parents. That was why I never went back bc organized religion in that sense holds no promise or hope. I mean it's kind of like grow your hair long to clean your husbands feet religion IMO. Lol I mean no offense when you find the place you belong God bless but for me it just does'nt. now you see why I love the unconventional lady who wants to dress like a man and ride astride it's liberating and free. Lmbo
Hi Kate! It does sound really special for a young girl. I had a cousin marry when I was about 8 and my mom bought me a off white dress with a blue ribbon. I had the a hat and gloves the whole bit. It is a special feeling. Of course later that evening they served mostacholi and guess who wore some home with her. Lol.

I hear you, but I meant it's catered as in I ordered the food and will pick it up. They aren't going to deliver, set up, serve or any of that. Sounds like you couldn't resist FRAGMENT. It's must have been calling to you. That happens to me sometimes too; I'll find a book and just feel the NEED to read it.
Hi Rachel. Thanks! I hope you have a good day at work!

Well that's a whole different thing. I thought catered as in having servers and such. You have enough on your mind getting take our heck yea. We have a butcher around us and you can get the best tasting lunch meats. I have got several different kinds and made a nice meat and cheese tray. There's also a nice restraunt that does fabulous chicken and we've got that before as well. I thought you sounded interested in the book too but yes it is just what the dr ordered. Enjoy your family Hun.

Thanks, love! Yes I thought you thought that's what I meant by catered. LOL I just didn't want to have to be bothered making food as well as everything else, so I figured it would be easier that way. And this store has really good food.
Yes, the book did sound interesting when you told me about it, but I have yet to check it out here or on Amazon. I don't think I'm going to have time to read over the next couple of days, unfortunately. We've been on the road all day today and tomorrow is the "event." Then Sunday I have to take my mom and daughter out to shop for supplied for Hannah's school project. She's making headbands for a project, and I thought that would be the perfect thing for her and my mother to do together. Like how I got out of it? LOL

Well let me tell you ladies this H is to die for. He is the sweetest bunch of testosterone that has found its way into my life. He is trying to win the h over and he writes the most romantic letters to her. Flowers and coffee is what he sends her and there's a reason but I have to sto or I'll give all the secrets away. Lexi kind of showed a vulnerable side that has softened me a bit to her. I just got to tell you that this is a truly romantic story.

Wow EB, that sounds horribly sexist. And what a message to send to a young girl! Anyhow, like Kate said First Communion is a big deal in our church. Hannah has the white dress and headband with veil--all compliments of Grandma. LOL She's super excited about getting dressed up and finally being able to participate in communion. I went out and got her some cute 1st Communion plates, balloons, decorations, etc. today. I ended up doing more than I had planned of course, but then again, you only have First Communion once, so what the heck!
Hey Kate, good to hear from you. What ya reading now? Oh EB, who's the author of FRAGMENT? I've forgotten and when I look it up there are a few books with that title, or that include the word in the title. Ugh!

They have changed with the times but back in the 80's there was still that feel that a woman's place was in the kitchen serving her man. My sister in law went to that same church for years as well and she waited on my brother hand and foot. Good cause he never got that from his sister. Lmao. RF you poor thing I can tell your distracted bc I've posted the name twice already. The authors name is Ellie Wade. Fragment is the name bc there are some with an S on the end that I saw.here's the link.

Thank you sweetheart! Yes I do remember you having told me before, but I could not for the life of me remember. Look you're lucky I remembered the title of the book. LOL
Ya, we've come a long way just since the 80's haven't we? But we still have quite a ways to go. I was just talking to my husband about a related topic recently...a woman who kills her abusive husband gets LWOP (life without parole), while a man who has a conviction for a rape or two before he finally kills another may can get 20 years--of which he'll only serve 85%, if that, depending on the jurisdiction. Lesson here--when a woman or child is the victim oftentimes the punishment is disproportionate to when it's a man who's the victim.

Ooh FRAGMENT is available for loan through my Prime membership. After I read my April loan I will borrow it for May. Nice!
Elizabeth wrote: "Oh yea! I'm at the drive in to see our CH"Good luck RF!!! I hope it is a blast and I LOVE how you got out of the headbands LMAO!!!! Super smart!!!!
EB - that book sounds fantastic. Let me know when you finish if it is safe for me. I am getting excited just thinking about it!!! :)

OMG! I am sooooooo jealous!!!!!
Yes Rachel, when it comes to crafts projects I'm super talented...at avoiding them! LOL
I'll talk to y'all some time tomorrow evening or Sunday. Have a great weekend!

You too lovely! I will have to learn from you then because that is the ONLY talent I'd have with craft projects as well hahahaha
Okay Rachel I finished Fragment and it is totally safe. I wish there would have been a little more action and we would have got to see her assaulter pay for his crime but I can not hold it against the authors choice not to bc unfortunately this happens in life much the same way. How many women are faced with never getting justice but the peace and love Cam does find and receive from Deacan more than makes up for it.
Elizabeth wrote: "Okay Rachel I finished Fragment and it is totally safe. I wish there would have been a little more action and we would have got to see her assaulter pay for his crime but I can not hold it against ..."Awesome EB! I am totally adding this! :) So the hero pursues her the whole time then, trying to break down her walls and heal her? Do we get a nice epilogue too???? I may be asking too much! lol
RF I did enjoy Fragment very much but wanted to mention to you they do describe quite a few love scenes and I know you've mentioned to me before that you get bored with that sort of thing. I didn't mind bc I thought it showed how she learned to trust him more and more. She gained more confidence and her desire became more demanding as she couldn't deny her feelings growing stronger but they are not written super sexy but were okay IMO
Yup, he never gives up and she cuts him loose at one point when all her defenses are down but it is short and neither stray. They are so hung up on each other it never is even a fear. The fling she had in the beginning tries by grabbing her ass which is witnessed by Deacan but she grabs his fingers and bends them backwards with choice words. D is ready to set him straight but she beats him to it.
Elizabeth wrote: "Yup, he never gives up and she cuts him loose at one point when all her defenses are down but it is short and neither stray. They are so hung up on each other it never is even a fear. The fling she..."Wow .. she sounds feisty! LOL! I think I like that about her. Good for her standing up for herself. I will have to read this book soon. I honestly don't know what I'm in the mood for. I just read Only By Your Touch by CA and of course I loved it. Now, I am in a mood LOLOLOL! Go figure!
My favorite part Rach is that she sleeps with men in the five years following her rape and she has strict rules that she never sways. She is like a dude as one guy described her anyhow when her and D start to get intimate and she has her release she doesn't even know why she's crying and why it is different from other encounters. It is her friend Claire who explained it is bc she shares feelings with this one. I liked that we got to see her surprise.
The rape is written so you understand what she is enduring but not over graphic and the dudes he is with is rushed over just enough so you can see how detached she is with men
Elizabeth wrote: "The rape is written so you understand what she is enduring but not over graphic and the dudes he is with is rushed over just enough so you can see how detached she is with men"Honestly, intimacy with the heroine and other men doesn't bother me as much as the hero screwing other women in the story, so because we don't see the hero with anyone else, I am sure I will be okay with that aspect. Is there an epilogue?
There is an epilogue and it gives you a look two years after they are moved in together. It's sweet and is a loan able if you want to burrow sometime. I work today until 4pm. I'm going to finish her rica knight-cantania today. What are you reading?
Yay!! I love epilogues and complete stories. A bonus is babies!! Lol! I am reading Love Beyond Words by Emma Scott. It's very sweet and that's what I'm in the mood for currently. Hopefully it won't make me cry lol!!! I am just in a weird mood. I might go back into historical after this read. What about you???
I agree I love when you get to see kids between the couple but sadly it was not Cam and D with the baby but her friend Claire and Ben. I wish she would have at least been pregnant but you can't have it all. Lol. I am reading a HR by Jerrica knight- cantania she is a lady who is in hiding so she is playing the part as a governess. It is a second book in the series so you meet her in the first one but she is a maid then for the h Phoebe in that read. The H Stephen is a crab ass who is infatuated by the h but is in denial. You know the bit. Lol. I like the authors writing. I'm not sure what my mood is. I liked Fragment and all its hope and beauty but I wanted more. I guess I wanted to see confrontation with her attacker you know like in Fading. She kind of knew her attacker but I wanted to see D kick some ass. I guess that's what it lacked. He was so sweet and gentle but I wanted to see that bad ass side too. Even a little jealousy or possessiveness. Her love scenes were nice but not hot you know what I mean. More alpha please but not overly so.
I hope your current read goes good! It sounds cute. I really like Julia Quinn a lot and her writing style. She is too funny. Someone recommended a PNR romance that is funny and quirky. I may pick that up next. I'm not sure. Lol I'm in a mood!! And I know what you mean about Fragment. Where was his alpha side?!?!?
He was strong willed with his friends and they all liked to hang out. I would have liked to see more excitement
Hi ladies, just a quick stop in. Hannah's day was just about perfect yesterday. Everything went well. I tried to post a pic here on GR, but nothing doing. I did post a few pics on FB. TTYL!
Aww I see! So alpha with everyone but her rapist lol!! Maybe he knew it would do more harm then good? Like if he killed him, he would no longer be there for the heroine?? Yes? No? Wishful thinking? Lol!!!Awesome RF!! Id love to see the pictures!!!

That has to be crazy though - like she knows who it is and he is still there lurking .. walking around and living life. That sucks majorly. LOL
Yes - the pictures as so sweet!!!!

That book EB sounds pretty good. Where'd you get it and who's is it written by?
I'm going to do a quickie freebie list this morning. My parents are here and I have a million and one things to get done before tomorrow.
