You're going to see Thor? I'm so jealous! I'd love to be able to go but we'll have to wait for the family to leave. My hubby says he'll go see it with me. .. Just so long as he doesn't interfere with me and Thor! LOL

OMG! Here we go again. My entire list just got deleted when somehow I accidentally switched to another webpage...I don't know how the heck that happened. Usually I lose my list when I click on the post tab and then something henky happens, so I've learned to copy my list BEFORE clicking "post." This time I was taken completely off guard! Ugh! Anyhow, now I have to redo the list.

The first three books include an ongoing saga. If you're interested you will have to download all the books to get the entire story. It's set in Wales over a period of several years; 1796-1855.

LUCK OF THE IRISH is contemporary, I think. It popped up in my HR search, so I'm not sure in what time period it is set. The h is 22 and a college grad, so it really can't be too early of a period. It's about an American h who travels to Ireland and meets a gorgeous bartender who has secrets he'd rather not share. FYI this is the complete edition of the book.

THE HANDFASTING is about a h, only daughter of a large family of warriors, who is forced into an arranged marriage with the H, laird of his clan and a warrior. The h has had enough of warriors and wants a nice sensitive man...maybe a poet. LOL She wants nothing to do with the H!

THE TITAN DROWNS is a weird time travel romance. It's about a team that travels back to the Titanic with the intent of saving specific targets to take back to their endangered Utopian society. They are only allowed to save the identified targets and must convince that; (1) the ship is going to sink; and (2) the only way to be saved is to time travel. The h falls in love with a man who is not one of the identified targets and thus is someone she cannot save.

RED HOT BEGINNINGS is a set of 14 contemporary and paranormal romance books. Each book is a beginning to a different series. The only thing I'm not sure if is whether the included books are stand alones or end in cliffhangers.

SEAL OF MY HEART is another CR about a h, who is engaged, and a H, who is a navy seal, who meet while traveling via plane. They have an immediate connection that ends up affecting and changing both their lives.

That's it for today, ladies. I honestly cannot say whether or not I included all the books from my earlier list. But I did my best. I hope you all find something to tempt your reading palates. TTYL!

FYI ladies, I checked out that box set, RED HOT BEGINNINGS and from the books I looked up--and I looked up 11 of them--it seems that most of the books included in the set are the first in a SERIAL not a series. You will have to read another book in order to get the conclusion to the couple's story. The only one I've found that's a standalone is THE NAVY SEAL'S EMAIL BRIDE. A number of the books are really short too...30, 40, 50 pages.

Sounds fun! It's one of the things I miss living out here in the boondocks. LOL Hey FYI on the SEAL book; the h is engaged when she meets the H and apparently she's intimate with him BEFORE she breaks it off with her fiance. Just a heads up. One reviewer--who gave the book 5 stars--did say that for her that cheapened the experience a little, but she still loved the book. TTYL!

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I had a bad vibe on that boxed set. I hate cliffhangers lately. Lol. What if I don't like the characters? Sometimes it's just hard enough making it through one book with them.

Nope didn't get the boxed set. I already have the NAVY SEAL EMAIL one and I have no interest in reading a book that continues into another book. I was considering it, but from what I can tell, the NAVY SEAL one is the only book that's a stand alone. FYI I think that one might still be available for free; if you don't get the boxed set I mean. It's by Cora Seaton.

Yea it makes sense. It's free after all, so you can't go wrong. I checked like 12 of the books and from the descriptions of each none of them inspired me enough to grab the set. I already had two of the books...the NAVY SEAL one and another short story... BEAUTY TOUCHED THE BEAST. I read that one a long while back. It's part of a series, but if I remember correctly each story can be read alone. You don't have to read anymore of the stories unless you want to. It's an erotic story.

Anyhow, I'm off for another bloody day of cleaning! Ugh!

Okay so I reread that one short story from the 14 book set, BEAUTY TOUCHED THE BEAST. EB, Remember I told you I'd had it and read it a while back? It's a really short story, but sweet. The H has a lot of scarring on his face, which cause him to esteem issues. He works from home. The h is a college student who cleans houses to help pay her way through school. She cleans for the H a couple of times a week.

That story doesn't end in a cliffhanger. The romance is resolved and the two declare their love to one another. As a matter of fact, my copy must have been updated at some point, because at the end of the story there is a note from the author saying that my copy was originally the complete story for the couple. However, fans asked for me, so she ended up writing a series of short stories about them. So you can read the short story as a standalone or you can read more about the couple if you choose to do so.

LOL I hear you. Gotta give hubby his special time. :-) No I didn't get the box set. I already owned BEAUTY TOUCHED THE BEAST. I got it as a freebie a long while back...maybe in 2013.

Anyhow, I reread it. It's super sweet. The sex scene is so poignant their first time because he kept whispering things like "I'll make it so good for you you wont care that it's me." He's so self conscious about his appearance. :-( I'm giving it 4 stars despite the length. I thought it was quite entertaining. I would definitely read more stories about them, but I'm loath to shell out .99 for a few pages. I think they have the entire series published in one book now, though. I'll have to check it out.

Hey Rachel! Good to hear from you. When do you get a break from work? I finally finished Sinful Confessions. It took several days, but it's totally awesome! And it's SAFE! He's been celibate since the death of his last wife...actually since before since the two had a horrible marriage.

I've been on a cleaning frenzy getting ready for the family who will be here for my daughter's First Communion. My entire body aches! Last night I tried to coax my hubby into giving me one of his fantastic massages--he's a physical therapist and has hands that work like a dream. My daughter immediately started to complain about her growing pains and that was that. I said to my husband, I can't even get a massage without someone butting it!!!! Argh! Let this be a lesson to you Rachel, romance goes out the window with kids; at least until they get to a certain age. LOL

Good morning, ladies. Here are a few freebies for today. Here's the blurb for A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH. It's a little unusual. A H who needs to learn how to play golf and a h who masquerades as a man so that she can play the game. LOL The H arrives in Scotland to learn to play and is paired with the h, who of course, he believes to be a man.

http://smile.amazon.com/Diamond-Rough...

http://smile.amazon.com/Viscounts-Def...

http://smile.amazon.com/Ruse-Andrews-...

http://smile.amazon.com/Ultimatum-Bri...

http://smile.amazon.com/Ride-Restorat...

http://smile.amazon.com/Carolines-Lov...

http://smile.amazon.com/Beauty-Barbar...

THE VISCOUNT'S DEFIANT LADY is an inspirational romance. It's a novella at 117 pages. The H and h have known each other since childhood. The H has a secret crush on the h. When she discovers he locket is stolen, they pair up to solve the mystery. FYI this is book 2 in the Good Lord Series. We've had book 1, THE EARL'S FORGIVENESS on a previous freebie list.

THE RUSE has been on our list before; back in November. It's free once more. It's about a h who gets caught up with the H's brother when he pretends to be his brother and gambles away the estate's remaining funds. Now he has to come up with a plan to make back the money. Somehow the h ends up playing wife to the brother, who is pretending to be the baron. When the H returns he decides to play along to see how far the ruse would go; he ends up falling in love with the h.

THE ULTIMATUM BRIDE is novella. The H is being forced into marriage by his father; or face disinheritance. Unwilling to marry the woman he father has picked out, he sends for a mail order bride.

RIDE TO RESTORATION is a contemporary romance. I'm only including it because it's the continuation of the first book; RIDE TO REDEMPTION, that was a freebie in the CR section a couple of months ago. I almost downloaded that book until I discovered it ended in a cliffhanger--I hate that! Anyhow, IF anyone else did get a copy of REDEMPTION you will need RESTORATION to finish the story. FYI book one was never included on any of our freebie lists.

CAROLINE'S LOVE is another repeat freebie from last November. It's a mail order bride romance; novella length at 105 pages. What was funny about this book is that the h and two other women, all traveling west by train, discover that they have the same groom! LOL It turns out the H had advertised for himself and his brother. Through a mix up he ends up with three potential brides. I'm not even sure if the brothers knew about his scheme. Anyhow, this first book tells Caroline's story...bride #1. Anyhow, there are two other books in the series that tell the story of the other two brides, so there is quite a bit that is left unresolved in this first book; although there is a HEA for Caroline.

BEAUTY AND THE BARBARIAN is book three in Jareki's Highland Force series. We've had another book from that series on previous freebie lists.

That's it for today, ladies. TTYL!

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I recognized the Amy Jereki name so I looked through her books. I have one her books but it's from another series. I got this one anyway. The first book in this series is a pirate and that just doesn't appeal to me.

Rachel wrote: "RF that is hilarious!! How old is your daughter?!? That's fine and dandy about the romance but my hubs better remember who he sleeps with every night bwahahaha!!"

Ya well I hate to break it to you, but WE sleep with our CHILDREN at night! LOL My son thinks he's the man in my life; I guess to him a husband is an extraneous being who is there merely to serve as a Daddy. Ugh!

She's almost eight. I said to my husband that my neck and shoulders were killing me. I remember he used to give me full body massages involving both hands AND mouth. But that's another story and it's BEFORE children. Enough to say that I've NEVER received a massage as good anywhere, no matter how much I paid for it. Anyway, as soon as my husband started to rub my shoulders she says "Daddy, I still have my growing pains. They're bothering me." I just rolled my eyes at my husband and he started laughing. Now you should know that we've not heard ANYTHING about these growing pains for MONTHS!!!! I told my husband, I guess I'll have to wait until she goes away to college before I get another massage..even the rated G ones. Ugh! My son, on the other hand, has tried his hand at giving me a massage in the past. Such a sweet little guy.

I'm telling you Rachel, have a daughter and that's it for you. She'll twist her daddy around her sweet little finger like a piece of string. My husband said something the other day and I heard "baby doll." I asked him what he'd said and he told me he was speaking to Hannah. I was like "I'M BABY DOLL!" That's one of his endearments for me. He just laughed. Double Ugh!!!

EB we got one of Jareki's books through that rating program of Amazon's. BTW I haven't checked them out in a while. Have you? I'm not into pirate books either. I've read a few in my time, but mostly I find them, blah. Just not my scene. We did have another book from the Highland Force series on our freebie list, but it was a novella. It was Return of the Highland Laird. You might have downloaded that one too.

Rachel | 443 comments Omg RF!! I am dying laughing!! I already know j want a little boy so I am praying for that lol. I am prissy enough for our household. Lol!! If we had a girl, my husband would turn her into a tomboy for sure. I totally know sex will be sparse once we have kids until we are grown but the only thing I know my husband and I are both strongly opinionated on is that our kids won't sleep with us. It's going to be super hard but we are going to try our damnedest to not let that cycle start. So we will see what happens. I don't even let our dogs in the bed lol!!!! I know there isn't a comparison!!!!

It is depressing to think about what our relationship with be like with a child lol!!! I like my sex I'm gonna tell you right now!!!

Haha Don't worry, Rachel. It will all work out, but any preconceived ideas you have about parenting will most likely get tossed out the window once the little darlings come along. I used to say the same thing about sleeping with the kids, but after too many nights of not sleeping I finally just gave up and brought them in. I couldn't care less; I just wanted to get some SLEEP!!! Now that they are older, they still show up in the middle of the night and we just let them crawl in. The main thing is that both you and the hubby are on the same page. I know that having kids in the marriage bed has caused major problems in some marriages, but that's because one party allows it constantly, while the other party is against it because of the lack of intimacy.

I remember how I was before I had kids. I'd be in the store and watch while a mother let her child tear up a shelf and I'd think "there's no way I'd do that." Well I'll tell you, you let them do just about anything--so long as it's safe--just so you can get five minutes of peace. I remember when my daughter was little and I'd be trying to read the label on a product, she'd pretty much move stuff off a shelf and I'd just fix it when I was done. I was just happy that she had something to occupy herself with so that I could get to read the label uninterrupted. LOL

No doubt you'll get your sex, but don't be surprised if it's NOT in YOUR bed because your kid is sleeping in it. Had we waited for the use of our bed to conceive our son, we'd never have a second kid. We used to sneak off and leave Hannah happily sleeping in our bed so we could make out. ROTFL

My husband and I have a great marriage; good thing because nothing breaks up a marriage faster than children, I think. I always laugh when I read books or hear stories about someone trying to save their marriage by having a child. I'm like, "that's a sure way to kill it." At first the lack of sleep and the new parent status is so stressful that you're more likely to argue about rubbish, and later if you're not both on the same page about parenting, it can cause major problems. But it's all worth it in the end! At least so people keep telling me. ROTFL

My husband is a putz when it comes to my daughter; but I confess I'm the same way with my son.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Hi guys. Rachel my dad came home on Tuesday I guess the aneurysm is in his abdomen and is not at a level they deem great enough for surgery. It is borderline. It's bullshit is what it is but he is feeling better and moving around well. I got my grass mowed down along our river bank. Whew, I am pooped. Lol.

message 2781: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments RF - oh I totally am on the same page with you!!! I know I have many desires NOW of how I want things to be and we will most definitely have to adjust. Bottom line we will do what we have to do. I am undecided on what I'm gonna do after birth. Obviously, while my husband is working, I want him to get sleep so I may even set up a bassinet in the other bedroom and sleep there while breast feeding. It depends on how he feels. I haven't talked to him about it. He may be totally on board with me staying in our bedroom. In fact, he might insist on it. He is very much against a married couple sleeping in different rooms lol!! It will be a huge learning curve and we will have to be creative. I love sex and my husband also makes sure I am satisfied before it's through so I am very spoiled. Now don't get me wrong - he doesn't always do the extra stuff but that's mostly because he himself would go before me lmao!!! So that a sometimes thing. I always remind him it's better to preheat the oven for both him and me because even though he might not be able to control himself, I'll go faster as well.

Omg Lmao!! I just gave yall total TMI!!!!

EB - an aneurysm at any place/location is dangerous and that is such BS, however, there are many reasons why the MDs won't do the surgery. Too risky maybe when it's not doing any harm presently?? Crazy stuff!!!

message 2782: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments It's called abdominal aortic aneurysm.

message 2783: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 443 comments Yes, I am very familiar with that type of aneurysm. Those surgeries are always very high risk and mostly they only perform surgery on them when there is a problem - such as severe pain, leaking and/possible rupture.

Yes EB, that's true. They have to weigh the risks of the surgery vs. the benefits. I assume they will be monitoring him? It's dangerous, no matter how you slice it, and is definitely something that needs to have an eye kept on.

Rachel, you are a mess! Yes, get all the loving you can now because it's gonna taper off after baby comes along. LOL As for the sleeping arrangements, my husband never let me move from our room. Even though he was the one who was working, half the time he'd be up with the baby...he definitely did his share. You just get used to being sleep deprived. It's crazy how much you learn to adjust to. Now that both my kids fall asleep on their own and sleep through the night, I've become spoilt.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments You should be able to buy the seeds at Walmart or any store that sells seeds. Don't get anything fancy. Potting soil can be bought with the fertilizer in it. Don't over think it pour in the dirt and the seeds should have instructions on how deep and just a little bit of water. They both like at least a half day of sunshine so put it in a window that gets sun light at least a half a days worth. Once a week check the dirt if it's dry water if it feels soft and moist wait. It's very simple if anything I think people over water but think you'll be fine. Not to change the subject but have you heard about a book called Fragments? It's by Ellie Wade. I ended up getting it today bc it was on sale and it sounded like a good tear jerker. I started reading it on my phone through my kindle app while I was waiting for my niece omg I'll let you know. It's a CR but it's about this girl who was always the good girl, the rational thinker and she goes with her friend on spring break. Her friend takes her to a bar and hooks up with a past fling and leaves her alone. Well the girl is ready to leave when this guy persuades her to stay to have a drink. The synopsis says something tragic takes place. The guy just introduced her to a group of his friends and their just talking but it looks like it's going to get good. She gives up on love after the tragedy and the H is suppose to be real good. I still have my governess book it's lighter than this one but her writing is addictive and tells both POV's which I love.

Thanks for the advice EB! I will check into that stuff to help the positive vibes flow into my house!

Fragments sounds like a read I could get into. I feel bad for the heroine poor thing. I read the blurb just now so I know what it's about. It DOES sound the hero is awesome. If he pursues her from the start (no other women for him of course) and doesn't take no for an answer (because she is very broken) I'll read it too! Good luck with it EB!

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I know I like reading books like that with either the h or the H having some kind of tragedy to overcome. I don't like them to be too depressing though. I read one called fear of falling by S L Jennings. That one was pretty good. She was in an abusive relationship afraid to leave. This poor girl had scars from the sob. I mean the guy was scum. It was action packed. I believe the guy she fell for had this psycho ex or something and the girl told the girls ex where to find her and set her up. I remember him stuffing her in a trunk. That girl I just felt pure potty for. How does one ever recuperate from such violence?

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I turned to the end to check me and Rf always do that. The ending is very sweet. I think I'll finish the governess first bc I see Thor tomorrow and I want no sad thoughts only happy ones. Then I'll begin this one but what I've read so far is good. This girl ends up with scars too.
