I probably shouldn't try to tan and actually I have been going on walks and didn't think to put on sunblock.

Well damn, if book two is a continuation of the book you just finished then you really gotta finish that first don't u? Or is it a follow up story of a secondary character?
I think you're gonna LOVE the one I'm reading. Kids, a crazy dowager countess, a disdainful cat, a feisty heroine, and a sexy hero, what else could you possibly want? The romance is really sweet. You can actually see their feelings progressing. James doesn't realize he's falling in love yet, but he's pretty much obsessed with her.
Gotta do that sunblock, EB!!! You know even if you don't burn they say the sun is bad for your skin, or rather too much of it is bad. I almost ALWAYS forget, or I used to. I'm much better now with the kids, but every once in a while I'll forget to put mine on even though I remember theirs.

He is in his mid-late forties. She gets in an accident and is in a coma for almost 1.5 years. He was faithful and remained so during this time. He didn't even THINK or DREAM or other women, then he meets Andi when he goes back to work. So while his wife is still in this coma that apparently she will NEVER recover from, he starts a relationship with this woman and falls in love. They are together for almost two years when Clare wakes up. There are more details as to the events leading up to the accident and all, but the gist is that even though, Andi pushes Jack away (even though she is pregnant with twins) to work on his marriage with his WIFE, Jack still loves Andi. He is IN love with her. He cares deeply for his wife and will stay by her side to do the right thing, but Clare lets him go. I had respect for her and wanted her to get her HEA really badly - and she supposedly do in book 2. I guess because I have a medical background, I would have done the same thing in Jack's shoes so I feel for him. It wasn't like he was hoeing it up. He never dreamed of touching another woman, but he was trying to live again - especially for his three girls. Very touching story. So that's why I am torn between reading it now or waiting LOL

As for the sunblock, yes ma'am!!! I'm doing much, much better, but there is still room for improvement.

Hey Rachel, I remember seeing that book in the freebie section on Amazon. Read the description and decided to pass. I knew it was going to be too emotional a read for me. I agree with you 100% that under the circumstances his falling in love with another woman was acceptable, yet still, I was hesitant about the synopsis. I figured his wife would eventually die so the couple could marry, because I just knew that the H would not divorce a comatosed wife.
Well now that I know the wife awakened, all I can say is thank God I didn't read it. That book would have torn my heart out. I'm sad just THINKING about it and I haven't even read it. I'm happy he found love, but he and Claire have three daughters, and now, through no fault of their parents, they are from a broken home.
Worse than that however, is what happened to Claire. OMG! I cannot imagine her heartbreak! Please tell me she and the H at least had marital problems. I don't think I could take it if you said that they had had a happy marriage. I'm here thinking about me being in an accident, going into a coma, and Brian believing in his heart and soul that I am gone forever. He finds another woman, falls in love and starts a new family. Then I wake up! To him it's been two years or however long it's actually been, for me it's like I went to sleep and woke up the next morning only to find out that my husband doesn't love me anymore!! Damn! I think I'm gonna cry. *I* want Claire to get her HEA. She soooooooooo deserves it!!!
Be aware, however, that Claire's story is unlikely to be less emotional than the one you just finished. The ending might be more satisfying because everyone will get their HEA, and not at the expense of another person, BUT her journey there will be a difficult one. I can't imagine the pain she will have to go through to come to terms with the loss of her husband and family as she knew it. OMG! Just hearing about this book has affected me. Thank God I didn't read it. Selfishly, I want you to read Claire's story and let me know what happens, but you might really need a break from all the emotional stuff!!!
I'm gonna have to bury myself in MARQUIS to get my feel good feelings back. LOL I'm about 75% done. Almost at the end. They have reached a new understanding between them. At first James figured he'd have to marry her himself, without understanding why he felt that way. But now he's come to realize that he loves her. He hasn't proposed as yet, but he has told her that they will be together. He wants to take care of his aunt's blackmail business before he tells Lizzie the truth about his identity. I know I told you this book would be safe; now I'm positive it is safe, so go ahead, read it, and enjoy it!
Have a great day at work!!!

Good morning, ladies! Here's the freebie list. This first one is a novella of about 50 pages. It is a second chance at love for the couple. The H is the heir to a viscountancy. He and the h fell in love during her first season and he proposed, secretly. When her father announces he's moving the family to the Caribbean, the h is forced to choose...the H actually demands she chooses and so she leaves with her family. Now, three years later, after the death of her father, the h is back in England.

Remember THE JEWELLED SNUFF BOX from our freebie list last week? Well, THE GUINEA STAMP is yet another oldie from the same author. It's set in England during the Napoleonic war. The H is a double agent assigned to ferret out a French spy (I'm guessing that that is his assignment.) The H catches him breaking into her home and gets caught up in his investigation.
THE CENTURION'S WIFE is a historical romance set in biblical times. At least I think it's a romance. The h is forced into an arranged marriage with Alban, an ambitious Roman soldier. The story is set around the time of the crucifixion of Jesus. As a matter of fact, the h's mistress, the Palestine governor's wife, asks the h to discover what really has become of this man whose death--and missing body--is causing such furor. According to one reviewer, Alban is the centurion mentioned in the bible, the centurion whose servant Jesus saved. In any event, if it sounds like something you'd find interesting, check it out! LOL
A SPIRITED MANOR is about a h and H who meet during a seance at a remote country home. The two find everlasting love while solving a murder.
ORPHAN MOON is about who survives a Comanche raid and is determined to rebuild. In order to do so she grabs an opportunity that is meant for another. I think she may have bought herself some trouble by doing so. Anyhow, somehow she meets the H who is a hired gun. He undertakes the duty to keep her safe. That's the blurb. I'm gonna check the reviews for more info...Unfortunately, the reviews are totally useless, except to say they all liked it. There is mention of the Pony Express, so I have to wonder if the h maybe started working for them, incognito of course. I dunno why I think that; it's just a guess.
TIME WILL TELL is a time travel romance about a modern day h who somehow wishes herself back to 1874 Kentucky. The H is a widower; a horse breeder. The h is passionate about horses. Apparently she wished herself back to a time before the Kentucky Derby became a reality. Anyhow, love blossoms, but the H is hesitant because he realizes that the h does not belong in 1874. He had a similar problem with his late wife who grew bitter after being forced to move from Virginia to Kentucky. He's afraid the h will suffer a similar fate and it will result in ruin of their relationship. I'd say that was a realistic fear...a move across time being much more significant than a move from one state to another. LOL
BRIDE SCHOOL is back. We had book one as a freebie on a previous list. Today we get book 2, which is Lizzy's story. In this story, we have a wealthy H from the east who, being unimpressed with the potential brides in Boston, decides to travel west to find a woman to marry. He meets Lizzy, but she's too young and too prone to get into trouble for his high society lifestyle. You may or may not remember that in book one the h, Gen, established a bride school on a ranch where she finds love with her former brother in law.
SOUTHERN FRIED DRAGON is a fantasy romance. It's about a Scottish h who now lives in America during the civil war period. She happens to be a dragon. LOL Anyhow, she finds love with a soldier, but then her former lover, the Black Dragon, shows up. Obviously I've over simplified the plot, but you get the picture.
Well that's it for today, ladies. TTYL!

RF - that's why I have to read Clare's story!! And sadly, they had a damn good marriage. The hero is truly torn up. There was literally no way for him to have known but gosh Clare does the right thing in letting him go. I am reading it now and you are so right! The beginning was so much more emotional. I wanted to cry. Clare has a hard time at first being discharge to the home they shared. She has trouble dealing so her therapist advises her to get away for awhile to avoid a setback. Why do I do this to myself?!?

I can't help you with that question...I have no idea. I KNEW that darn book would be too emotional. They had a good marriage?! OMG! I think I'm really going to cry. I can't imagine what I'd do if I were in her situation. I would let my husband go, I think. How could you not when he no longer loves you the way he used to? I cannot imagine that there's anything worse than keeping someone tied to you who really wants to be with someone else! The HEA of the first book sounds like it was bitter sweet. No one will have a true HEA until Clare finds her soul mate. Getting back to her old life would have been hard enough had she had the support of her loving husband. I can't imagine the nightmare she'll have to traverse trying to get back to some semblance of life by herself.
I'm sure Care's ex will be torn up until Clare finds herself some happiness of her own. How could he not be? Not if he really loved her. The author is a genius! She ties the stories together in such a way that you HAVE to read both of them to get a truly satisfying ending. I hope Clare finds a truly awesome hero!

Yes! He is totally torn up about it. He is happy but not happy. He is mourning the loss of his first marriage. He feels absolutely robbed - like that rapist stole everything from him. He would have never left her though because he is a good guy. He would have also never cheated on her either regardless of his love for Andi. So I really think things will be more complete in this book - at least for Clare and Jack. I like the guy so far that she meets in this book. He is a recluse carpenter. Women love him because he is hot but he totally dismisses them all. He isn't a player or anything. He is also dealing with some kind of loss. Not sure what yet but it involves kids I think. He asks her out after grunting through several encounters. She tells him jt can't be a real date and he says well then I'll wait for the real thing and that he is a patient man lmao. He is 7 years younger than her. Things are looking up for Clare!

Those books have way too much intense emotion. I'm a pretty sensitive reader; sometimes when other readers complain that they didn't see a connection between a couple, I get the subtle hints. Shoot, I've been known to cry at commercials, and don't get me started on BARBIE ISLAND PRINCESS! ROTFL! Overly angsty books make me live them on a visceral level and they stay with me for a while. This one touches me even though I'm not the one reading it. It would have been overpowering had I read it myself.
I'm sure Jack is half happy/half sad. It sounds like the author did a fantastic job of creating a realistic story. Unfortunately, real life is sometimes messy and painful. Sigh! I'm glad to hear Clare has finally met a man. She needs some good in her life to get her back on the path to happiness. Go Clare!!! I agree with Clare, I'd have let my husband go too. How can you bind someone to you that would rather be somewhere else? Or at least part of him wishes to be elsewhere?
Have a great day at work!! ICU or RR today?

I know RF! This is usually something I would never have touched. I can't believe I read it! It was good but not the sort of thing I can read all the time. I think I might stop after Clare's book and maybe pick up the series again later. I forgot to tell ya'll!! I quit ICU. Last Wednesday was my last day. I am not only in one day surgery (outpatient surgery) and pre-op. I may go back some day but 5 years is enough for me mentally and the new director we got over the unit a year ago was not cutting it for me. I feel melancholy but relief. It's so weird. I am looking for another PRN job to supplement the outpatient surgery but my manager there is trying to give me as many hours as she can. I want to work at least 4 days a week and I am even taking night call to backup the PACU. Which is time and a half. Wish me luck!!!

Oh how exciting! Good luck! I'm sure this will prove to be a positive change for you. RU still working 12 hour shifts, or eights? I'm thinking eights since as it's outpatient.
There are other books in the series? Whose stories are those? I'll have to go check it out on Amazon; I'm curious. I'm trying to catch up on my reviews. I have a number of books I never got around to reviewing. Sigh! It's such a chore sometimes. I don't know why I feel so obligated to write them; probably because I rely on reviews written by others so heavily. It's like paying it forward. LOL

It's 8 hours but since I usually do the later shift - 9 am till closing, I usually get to work at least 9 or 10 hours. Sometimes even more. Plus the call. ;) I love it too!!Yes! There are 2 other books. The brother of the hero of THIS one - Clare's man and the 4th - which I don't think you will like - is the way older man younger woman trope. They are actually side characters in this book. Clare and Jack's 18 year old daughter is having a relationship with Jack's 48 year old friend. The only reason I may read the 4th book is because it is like a huge epilogue for all the rest of the books. In that book, kate is 28 and reid is 58. It's ten years later. He might be actually 45 - not that three years makes a difference lmao! Shit is gojngn to hit the fan when Jack finds out. I read reviews saying Jack overreacts ... How can you OVERreact to your little girl dating a guy almost 30 years her senior?!? I think I'm gonna agree with Jack on this one. I would literally kill that man if that was my daughter.

Haha You might want to talk to EB about that one. If I remember correctly, her husband is like 25 years her senior. I know it's a hard sell, but some people are like old souls and do better paired with a person who is much older. I don't think I'd have a problem with that romance, actually. If she were 18 and he 48 then yes, because I think she's way too young. But by the time she's 28 she should know her own mind, I would think. Plus it's not like they're just meeting; I mean the romance had to wait for ten years, so it gives me some confidence that it will stand the test of time. It is a huge age gap though. And a little weird seeing that the H is her father's friend. Speaking from a parent's POV of view; however, I agree, there really is no way that Jack can overreact! LOL

I am!! It's slow and I only work a half day today!! Lol!!! Mom!!!!! OMG RF! Their romance actually starts now and that's why Jack freaks out. Because just a year prior, when she was 17, he could have had his friend thrown in jail. I think she ends up leaving Reid to chase her music career and that's why their story continues 10 years later. The one good thing about it is that Reid is NOT a skirt chasing sleeze. I actually don't think he has been with anyone since his late wife died like 20 years ago? At least it doesn't sound like he did. I do know that he does move on and is in a relationship for 6 months by the time Kate comes back. He breaks up with her of course because Kate is it for him. I would have felt worse if Reid was a man slut. But I can totally relate to Jack being upset. I would have been too if that was my daughter! But I also understand Kate and Reid's love for each other lol. I don't hate it but I don't love it. I like the other characters though.
Oh and just to say, the age difference isn't the issue - it's that she was so young when it starts - 18 years old! I see no problem with being with someone no matter the age ;)

Impertinent chit. Be off to work with you! ROTFL Yes I agree with you about the age 17/18 being too young. I don't think I'd want my daughter in a serious relationship with anyone at that age. I feel like you need to gain your own life experiences first. The huge age gap only makes it worse. I like it much better that they waited the ten years; it makes it a more even relationship. So, you get to see the beginning them together in this book that you're reading right?
Anyway, I'm off to pick up my son from preschool. I hope he's is a good mood. He's such a sweetie, but sooooo temperamental. LOL

LOL
Lmao!!!! I'm done for the day!! So yes, their relationship starts as a side romance in Clare's book. She turned 18 like two months ago and starts this relationship with Reid who is 45. She loses her virginity to him and all. They love each other. I wished she was just slightly older but it's okay. I don't think Reid is a dog because he simply isn't like that. Like I told you before, it's been years since he has ever been intimate with another woman. Your little boy sounds precious! I bet he loves his momma!!
Rachel wrote: "Lmao!!!! I'm done for the day!! So yes, their relationship starts as a side romance in Clare's book. She turned 18 like two months ago and starts this relationship with Reid who is 45. She loses he..."
LOL He is a total sweetheart--at least I think so. But he's really very precocious!!! The little brat always denies missing me whenever I'm not around. Little stinker!! He says "maybe I would if you left forever!" Can you believe it? In the meantime if he doesn't see me for ten minutes while we're at home, he comes looking for me. ROTFL
Ah I see. I agree with you about the vast age difference, especially since as she lost her virginity to him, but overall it probably wont be a bad read. Nothing like her parents' stories!!! I've written three reviews so far this morning; two for books my daughter read and one of mine. Sigh! I have yet to read and I have my CCD class tonight--the last one! YAY!!!!! I hope to finish MARQUIS tonight and move on to something else tomorrow. I'll take a day off before reading another JQ novel, though.

I just got 7 more books out from my library by Catherine Anderson. Sun Kissed, Blue Skies, Bright Eyes, Sweet Nothings, Without A Trace, With You Beside Me: a Coulter Family Double, Reasonable Doubt. I'm still reading The Devil Takes a Bride and it's going really well, thanks Kate.
Kate please tell me Jeffrey does not have a threesome? I am reading his thoughts and fears and he is thinking that she will never understand his need for more than one woman. Let me tell you I will not understand if he does more than one woman!!!! Ooooh I swear if it comes to pass....end of rant. Sorry I just had to vent and see if you got this Kate to give some feedback before I find out one way or the other. I know you know I hate this and do yourself so I'm hoping they figure things out
Elizabeth wrote: "Kate please tell me Jeffrey does not have a threesome? I am reading his thoughts and fears and he is thinking that she will never understand his need for more than one woman. Let me tell you I will..."OMG what book is this so I can STAY AWAY?!?!?!?!?!

Is that the Julia London novel, EB. Sounds a bit kinky! LOL. I hope you don't end up with a threesome. That's not quite the thing for a romance! But if Kate recommended the book you're probably safe.

Each how's it going with Clare? R things on a happier note finally?
I haven't finished my book. I'm about 85% done, but I'm too tired to read anymore. This always happens on the days I reach CCD. I feel like I've been in combat for a month, AND I suffer from PTSD!!! ROTFL!
I'll finish it in the morning first thing and move on to something else. The couple from To Catch an Heiress, which is the hero's best friend and his wife, have just madean appearance. They are hilarious. I never read their story, but theirs is one of the books I recently borrowed from the library. Anyhow, I'm exhausted! Gnite!

The devil takes a bride by Julia London and it is hard to explain Rachel. I don't think there will be one now bc Jeffrey lives in his head and he believes the devil inside him is going to take over if he doesn't contain that side of him. When he opened to Grace though the two woman was down played to how beautiful he found her. How she made it hard for him to stay controlled. You really don't understand the depth of this until you've read the story up until now. See he left for Bath w/out word and a dr. Advises him bloodletting the poisons in him and following it with laudanum is the answer. OMG I thought he would be lead into this bad situation but than she came and they're talking but things are raw at this point.
I'll be looking forward to EB's thoughts. I kind of don't like reading about heroes having Lusty thoughts involving others.
Lol Kate that's hilarious. Someone else remarked once about a man resembling another cutesy on FB and the ladies were doing precisely the same thing. Lol. I just finished London's book so no worries. It was just in his head like most of his fears. Lol. She does write some steamy love scenes though. Thanks anyhow but I couldn't stop and needed to know.
Good morning, ladies. EB I'm glad your book turned out okay. I was pretty sure it would considering Kate had read and recommended it. Anyhow, here are a few freebies for today. This first one is about a h whose parents have recently died. She returns to England and accepts an invitation from the H's mother to their country estate. The house is haunted, but the H thinks the h is just having flights of fancy. Apparently there really are a couple of friendly ghosts who helps the couple find love.

WICKED AND WILD is a repeat from a previous freebie list. It's once again available for free. It's book 2 in The Spencers In Love series. It's about a duke who is ready to look for a wife, after years of pursuing French spies and sympathizers. The h has known the H all her life and has been waiting "patiently for the most part" for him to come to his senses. LOL Now that he's ready to settle down, I guess she's gonna go get her man!
MISS GOLDLEIGH'S SECRET is about a h who has run away from an evil guardian. Her and her younger brother have been living on the streets. The h and H meet when he catches her as she faints. The h is an old acquaintance of the H's sisters so he takes her home and from there the story progresses. The H vows to take care of the h, but of course, she has secrets...some of them dangerous!
TROUBLE WITH THE EARL is another repeat freebie from back in November. This is one where the h's father has decreed that she must marry someone within 45 minutes of her their home so as not to overly grieve her mother. LOL They set their sites on a widowed earl. He is not the H. The H is the h's family's former tutor who shows up and puts a wrinkle in her plans to become the earl's second wife. LOL
SEALED WITH A KISS is a set of four novellas of various types, both contemporary and historical.
HIGHLANDER'S CHARM is book three in the Highlander Heat series. We've had book .05 on our freebie list a while back. That was a short story; this one is a novella length. It's about 140 pages...although all of that is not necessarily the story.
Anyway, HIGHLANDER'S CHARM is about a modern day h who gets tossed back in time by an ancient charm that was gifted to her by her missing grandmother. The H has a similar charm and the two are bound together. When the h wishes on her charm she is sent back in time to the H. The h discovers that the H has seen her grandmother and she is determined to find her. At some point she escapes the H and heads towards his enemy's lands...this is where she will find her grandmother. Once the h finds her grandmother she discovers that she was born in the past to the H's enemy clan. Not sure if that means she was reincarnated in the future, or if she was sent to the future from the past.

Kate thanks for the book and it is 100% safe ladies. I agree with your fantasy comment Kate but I was concerned and needed reassurance. LOL. All is well in my little world again. LMAO

That's hilarious, EB, but I totally understand what you mean. There's nothing like a bad book to mess up one's peace. LOL Yes, I totally related to Kate's comment too. Remember Thor?! ROTFL!
BTW that clip on FB is hilarious! LOL

So what were those thoughts about??? I know it happens in real life for people to think lusty thoughts about others and that's fine. I just don't prefer that in my heroes. He throws me off of the book. Thanks for the list RF!!! I won't be on as much today I'm sure!! Lol
Omg yall lmao!!!!! Yes indeed!!! That's okay, my husband and I were at a museum in Chicago and we saw man through time. You know starting at caveman?! He knew about this romance I read that involved time travel and a caveman. I told him - "Just so you know, my hero did NOT look like that. He was much more evolved for his time" lmao!!! He said "riiiight"
Crazy girl...lmao. The thoughts he had was not a specific woman it was images of a woman touching herself which evolved to being tied up that turned into to woman touching the other. When he gets married it's abrupt and he is a bit crazy in his thoughts bc his new bride is not the meek woman he intended to marry. Grace brings out all his fantasies to while other level. He tries to push the thoughts away with a tick he's developed over the years. London writes an erotic, sexy scene. I stayed up and finished it last night. I did the review this morning. I am now reading switchback.

LOL Good for you, Rachel! I frequently inform my husband about the various cuties I fantasize about. ROTFL. Luckily he's the easy going sort and just rolls his eyes at me. At one point we were going to switch off...he was going to get Halle Berry and I was going to get that French model she was dating. Ummm Yummy! Although I told my husband I didn't understand why he needed Halle Berry; in my mind when I do my eyebrows I look EXACTLY like her. Lucky dog that HE is. ROTFL
EB, is SWITCHBACK another CA novel? I just started Compromised for Christmas. I figured I'd take a little break between JQ books. Remember a few months ago when I read all those Amanda Quick novels back to back...the sameness started to get to me after a while. Same thing happened when I reread all my favorite Julie Garwoods novels back to back. After I finish this one, I might read another short one before going on to my next JQ. Haven't decided as yet.

Yes it is CA and I just got a call from my library when I got home from work and I have two more books. Summer Breeze, Catherine Anderson 3-Copy Boxed Set. I know that authors do have that writing style that is singular to them and can get repetitive to read one after the other. I will be fair and if I feel annoyed by just similarities than I will stop.

Ya that's what I usually do. Based on my recent experiences I think three back to back may be my limit.

The books seem to vary and are not all with children. I do like her as an author bc I know she is safe and romantic. London really delivered in the erotic area for me. Jeffrey was hot in the sack. LOL

Ya some authors are worse than others with the sameness. For some it's just the writing style which is unique to each author, but with others it's the storyline too. As much as I love Julie Garwood, I have to say after having read so many of her books back to back, that her stories, although different, feature too many similarities between the characters. It's almost always the same characters playing out different scenarios...at least that seemed to be the case with her highland/medieval romance books.
Amanda Quick was a little like that too...the personalities of her characters from book to book were very, very similar.

EB - that book sounds interesting ... Lol!! The guy sounds weird as hell with his devil ticks. Do you think I'd like it?!?RF lmao!! You are so funny with your hubs!!!
And I agree ladies! Author's that write so many books tend to get very similar so I often take breaks as j am doing now with KA! LolThat guy DOES sound erotic. I like erotic books and I know you said it's safe. Maybe I should read your review. That hero is freaky.
Rachel I think you would like it. He is faithful his father did some terrible things to him when he was a boy and his mother was no help either. I read it all in one day that says a lot bc I couldn't put it down
Good morning, ladies! Here are a few freebies. The first one is by Le Veque. It's one that I actually read. It's about a h whose home is invaded after her brother is accused of crimes against the crown. The cowardly bastard fled and left his sister alone to deal with the enemy invasion. She is abused by the man in charge; raped! One of the soldiers helps to hide her and then informs a higher authority which results in the raping bastard being replaced by the H. As is typical of Le Veque's stories, the h and H find love fairly early in the book, and then deal with other outside issues from there on. In this instance, I remember once they find love and she gives birth, the story jumps ahead several years and by then the couple had two kids (or maybe three). Anyway, they at some point have to face her rapist, blah, blah, blah. It was a good book. I never reviewed it; it's on my list to be done, but I'd give it 4 stars. It does suffer from the usual Le Veque issues; for one thing it could do with some editing. Sigh!

EXECUTION and RISEN are both part of the same story. The first book is about a set of twins; one is a priest one a prisoner, who meet when the priest visits his brother to give him the last rites. When they share their stories the priests ends up switching places with his brother. RISEN is the follow up story and is about the life the one twin brother leads after the events of EXECUTION. FYI both these books have been on our freebie list in the past.
THE PATRICIAN is a historical romance set in Roman days. It's about a h who has been enslaved by the Romans. She has the gift of sight that her owner exploits for her own financial gain--he uses her to tell the future to paying customers. The H is part Roman, part Hebrew. He is a wealthy merchant prince. He seeks out the h to have his fortune told. a slave, who has the gift of sight, when his empire is threatened by an unknown enemy. Due to the lie told to the H by the h, the H ends up being enslaved. From that point on the H is consumed with plotting his revenge against the h. When the two meet up again, all is not as he thought and the two end up escaping together.
THE EARL'S FORGIVENESS is a repeat freebie from back in December. It's an inspirational historical romance about an earl who returns from the Napoleonic war embittered and unforgiving. The h is the H's sisters childhood friend. When the two meet again, you know, love blossoms. :-)
That's it for today, ladies. TTYL!
Oops sorry! I almost missed this Samantha Holt freebie! It's a 100 page novella about an American h and a marquess. The two have been corresponding by letter; the h arrives in England at the invitation of the H. When she arrives she is sure she will be getting a marriage proposal; instead what she finds is a man who spends his days writing angry letters, drinking, and sleeping. Ummm not sure what's up with that, but knowing Holt it's bound to be good. Anyhow, here is the link!

Thanks RF I got Le Veque and Holt books. I also got an email telling me Keira Montclair has a new book so I bought that and tomorrow the third book in Stacey Von haegert's series is out. I'm drowning in books. Lmao. Do I really need to sleep? I'll have to think about that. Lol. There is a book release party on the White Rose web page to celebrate the 3rd book. There was another one that you talked with me about on FB RF but I didn't bother I wanted to read. Lol. I really wasn't familiar with the authors which has never stopped me before but well I didn't want to spend all my time there and not finish London's book.

Hey EB, good morning! I read the Le Veque book. It certainly was different. I was taken by surprise when I turned the page--so to speak--and it was some four years later in the middle of the story! That's never happened to me before--not in a romance. In any event, I hope you like it better than you did FRAGMENTS OF GRACE. Remember that one? :-)
I'm going to read Holt next. Every book of hers that I've read so far, I've liked--a lot. Some I've loved, so I'm thinking that should be an enjoyable story. I'm not done with COMPROMISED FOR CHRISTMAS as yet. I'll get it done today. It's only about 100 pages, but it's not very riveting, and I was tired yesterday, so I didn't make the effort to get it done. Now that I have Holt to get to, I'll make the effort, finish that book, read Holt, then move on to one of my JQ novels.
What's the KM book about? And who the heck is Stacey Von Haegert? The name doesn't sound familiar, but honestly, nowadays I only remember names of authors that I've read repeatedly...if I find their books interesting enough, I make the effort to commit their names to memory. And it's an effort. LOL I'm thinking I've never read anything by Ms. Haegert.
BTW Rachel, you might as well learn this now. Once you get pregnant your brain cells begin to die off. Your memory will become horrible. After you give birth, lack of sleep will keep it horrible. As the child grows your memory will get better, but IT WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!! ROTFL My husband says he remembers the days when he could rely 100% on my memory...not so nowadays. I spend half my days walking around trying to remember where I left my reading glasses! LOL
