Rachel stay away from A Highlander's Touch. You would be upset I fear. Hi ladies. RF read your review. Amazon changed their comment box and I do not like it. It doesn't allow you to allow book links now probably bc they had whiney little bitches complaining like on our comment boards.

What? What did they change now? Jeez! Which review did you read, the one for HIGHLANDER'S REWARD? What's wrong with HIGHLANDER'S TOUCH, OW?

Go to the comment thing on Amazon and read my comment it should look different if it doesn't try to add one you'll see. It's your highland rewards. Now about HT the more I read the more I am loving it. The H is a pig the first half of the book but I have altered my opinion since my last comment. Lol I'm almost done so I hope I can express all of my feelings in my review. Your review about the rushed marriage makes sense to me and you maybe wouldn't like this one bc feelings come too quick and they are not backed up that wasy major complaint but with the way the story continued I am less hostile about it now. Lol does that make sense?

Yes I'm understanding you perfectly. LOL In HR the problem is that the H came up with the idea to marry the h for some reason that wasn't convincing. You know how that is. Plus he was engaged to another woman; how is that honorable I ask you? He saw marrying the h as a good way to avoid marrying the fiance. Then the h too was engaged to be married; her father was actually taking her to her betrothed when the skirmish broke out. But honestly that didn't really bother me because I already knew about it from another review that I read.
But girl by the end of the book I was annoyed. There was almost a war that was resolved as if it were no more than an annoyance and the H's former fiancee and the h's former betrothed ended up together, within five minutes of meeting! We're talking about people who hate each other, the English and the Scots. The who think was like a bad comedy. It trivialized the whole Scot/English issue. But I will say that the author has a nice style. If she's learned anything I'm sure she's improved by now. I may read her again in the future.

See she seems to be under the se influence in mine too. I don't want to give it away before my review but I will say the author needs to strengthen that moment you feel when you know the couple have connected. I really think that is key to a romance and to clarify sex and love connection are not the same. I'm going to use that in my review...it's a good way to phrase it. I know all of you guys get that but apparently the author needs reminding. Lol
BTW RF the Avengers are on FX and CH(Thor) is getting ready to make his debut. Yummy. Lol pant pant Oh and I tagged you in a contest tomorrow evening on FB. Remember your goal to try to win more free stuff.

Ummm Kate, she must've re-released it after cutting the story down. Maybe because of all the complaints. It's too bad, I think she probably overdid it because the end result is a rushed supposed romance with a farcical end. In the end the H's former fiancee and the h's former intended end up together after meeting mere minutes before. Keep in mind that one is English and one is Scots, dire enemies. It was the strangest thing. I wonder if they updated your copy or if it's still 700 pages. SEVEN HUNDRED!!! Now that's just crazy!
BTW have you ever read, Lord Carew's Bride. The H is LAME!!!

Hey Kate, yes that who situation surrounding that book is beyond weird; I don't blame you for giving up. With e-books they can make a change at the bat of an eye. I read one book and when I went back to reread it, the ending had been changed. It was no longer a standalone, but the first in a serial! WTH?! Apparently it was automatically updated when the change was made. It was annoying to say the least. I told Brian that I would just have to pretend that I didn't see the cliffhanger on the new version; there was no way I was going to buy the sequel.
I'm not feeling better. As a matter of fact my cold has now morphed into some kind of weird stomach virus. Luckily the symptoms are not that bad; they're actually pretty mild for a stomach virus. I do feel like crap though, but one must plod on. I hope you feel better soon and that you don't end up with what I have.
I have my next Highland romance lined up to read, but I'm not really in the mood for it. I have a specific type of book in mind that I'd like to read. I want a regency where the story takes place during a house party. The h should be a companion, or poor relation. I'd like there to be an OW who has set her sights on the H, but he's not interested. I don't care if he wants the h from the get go, or if that happens over time. Maybe he spends time with the h to get away from the OW. In any event, if anyone can think of a book that has a plot along those lines, please give me a shout out.
No freebie list this morning, I'm afraid. I honestly just don't feel up to it. I'll make it up to y'all in the future, I promise. Rachel, God love you honey! It's day three; you gotta get through this one then it's one more. Those four 12 hour shifts in a row are BRUTAL. TTYL!

Thanks EB. Yes, this winter has been tough on all of us. As a matter of fact, Brian is starting to feel a little under the weather too. Keep your fingers crossed he doesn't get sick too. He just got offered a new job that he'll more than likely take. He so much hates his current position; I'm super happy for him, even though it is a bit of a pay cut. :-(
My reading mood has been very specific. Ugh! I think the problem is that I've been wracking my brain trying to remember this one book I read years ago..80's or 90's. I'm pretty sure it's a regency. The H is marquess who works for the government in some capacity, or at least freelances. The Grand Duchess of Russia--the Czar's sister, I think--is due expected for a royal visit to England so everyone is all in a tither. The H and h are at a houseparty at a Earl's house. The h is companion to the Countess. In the opening scene the H rescues the h from being harassed by her employer's son and his cronies. The houseparty has already been underway for a few days, I think. At some point a Russian prince comes to stay as a guest. Turns out he's a really good friend of the h's. He knew her when she was really young. She traveled a lot as a child with her father for his work. That's when she met the prince. The prince loves her like a sister and hates the way the countess and other houseparty ladies treat the h like a servant. He's always insulting them in Russian, but they think he's being charming.
At first the H thought there might be something romantic between the h and the prince. He even sees the prince leaving the h's room one night--I think it might have been the first night of the prince's visit. He went to see the h to demand why on earth she was working as a servant. Does it sound familiar to anyone? I've been driving myself nuts looking for this damn book. I'd love to read it again. Ugh!
Of course I can't get greedy because last week alone I found two other books that I was going crazy trying to remember. I found them, bought Kindle copies, and reread them both. Ah it was heaven! LOL Now if only I could find this one, I could die happy. ROTFL
EB, how's Ken (aka Frank)?? LOL

You have already read that one. The house party is thrown me a bit of a curve ball. I know I've read some but I'll throw some at you that you can check out. Lord of Fire, Lord of Ice, Devil Takes a Bride, At Last Comes Love, Married By Morning, Tempt Me at Twilight, A Wallflower Christmas, How the Marquess Was Won and Her Sudden Groom. The h in how the marquess was won is weak but I still found it funny, and the last one is not a house party but it was good.A wallflower Christmas is a house party and the h is the type you seemed to crave. I know there are ones that are not what you seemed to crave but I just thought I'd at least give you choices. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Ken is doing good. I'm happy for your hubby. I hope it works out for him. Well the event is going on now on FB that I tagged you in.

OMG! Thanks so much, EB! I'll check them out when I get a chance. I never expected you to go to so much trouble, but I really appreciate it. I actually have a few of those books you named, so if one of them sparks my interest I will be all set to go. LOL
Glad to hear Ken is doing well. I'll go check out the FB post. I need to win some money.

The best of luck to you guys! ;D
Hey Elizabeth! Hey Kate *waves* I feel like such a loser for complaining, but work has been kicking my butt AND I have been trying to exercise too! No worries, Rachel. Good for you with the running. It never hurts to be in shape, no matter when. The better shape you're in before you get pregnant, the easier it will be get back in shape after. But my God! You've just completed your THIRD twelve hour shift in a row AND you went running. Girl you're allowed to complain!!! Four twelves was my limit when I was nursing. I refused to do four. Ugh! As a matter of fact, when they'd schedule me for three I'd complain. LOL
BTW I've got a few "safe" CRs for you. I'll find the titles and post them for you later. They're all freebies on Amazon too!

Good morning, ladies. Here are a few freebies for today. This first one is yet another variation on JA's PRIDE AND PREJUDICE.

DUVAL AND THE INFERNAL machine is an unusual one. The H is a police officer in France during the Napoleonic rule. The infernal machine is actually a type of bomb. The H is working the case trying to find the bombers. A romance blossoms between the H and his mentor's daughter.
WRETCHED CHASTITY is by Carre White. I've not read this book, but I did read her FAITH, which was way good--a five star read for me, so this lady can write, unlike that other author of mail order bride books who shall remain nameless. We got a ton of her books for free and deleted them from our clouds. LOL Anyhow, here is the description for CHASTITY. I just cut and paste from the product page...
Amidst the lawlessness of 1880’s New Mexico, the mayor’s wife, Mrs. Hershey, is determined to find wives for the towns most notorious and eligible bachelors. But little does she realize the magnitude of the challenges that face her, because matching perfect strangers is far more difficult than it looks.
Down on her luck and on her last dime, Chastity Donovan arrives in Boot Creek to marry a miner, but she soon discovers he’s an alcoholic outlaw with a murderous bent. Chastity is now responsible for Enoch’s two children, who have run wild over the years with little schooling. Dismayed, and dejected, Chastity finds her new life is not what she had envisioned.
Lucian Ellison’s train robbing past is about to put him on a collision course with Chastity, after he arrives on Enoch’s doorstep to collect his share in a robbery. One look at Chastity changes everything, because the lovely redhead is in desperate need of rescuing, and he’s just the man to steal her away. But, her new husband might have a thing or two to say about that … and the law as well, as someone is about to hang for his crimes.
HURRICANE SWEEP spans three generations of a family. The first h runs away from her cruel family in the south. She endures harsh winters and a sadistic husband. The second h, daughter of the first, "bares her body to the wrong man, yet hides her heart from the right one." The third h, granddaughter to the first is described as pampered and "finds herself in the center whirlwind of her family's secrets." Each woman is caught in a bitter struggle between power and pride, searching for a love great enough to obliterate generations of buried dreams and broken hearts.
The quotes are directly from the book's description. There are no reviews and no other information about the book's content. FYI there is one rating of 4 stars--you know Amazon now allows people to leave ratings with no review. It's sooooooo helpful! LOL
THE DARKNESS OF LIGHT is described as a historical fantasy. FYI there is a book 2 and the h and H from this book is in that book too, but I don't think this one ends in a cliffhanger, although I can't be sure. HOWEVER one reviewer did say that the ending sets up the beginning of the next book, so maybe there is a cliffhanger of sorts. Just thought you should know in case this is something you'd be interested in reading. Here's the blurb...
The world has long forgotten them, but their descendants live on, not wholly mortal or god, but something in between…
At the dawn of the sixth century, in the aftermath of her mother’s brutal execution, Mara Black is forced to flee the only life she has ever known.
Mara can tell she’s different, but isn’t sure why. After she encounters two mysterious strangers, she discovers her secret is but a drop in an ocean of many. She is a Dia, a descendant of ancient gods, and her mother sacrificed herself to protect Mara from their past.
Summoned by an uncle she didn’t know existed, Mara thinks she’s found the family she’s always wanted, and Corbin, a love she never thought possible. But not everything is as it seems. Her uncle has other motives for protecting her, and her mentor, Malcolm, becomes so jealous, he’ll do anything to get what he wants. When tragedy strikes, and the true darkness among them comes to light, Mara discovers that sometimes love can give you everything, and obsession can take it all away. With her powers gone, and destiny calling, she has to look deep within to find the courage to save herself. Mara, along with Corbin and her newfound family, must fight to get back what was taken, or die trying.
PRIZE OF MY HEART is about a H who is trying to find his lost son. Apparently his wife gave birth and left the baby with strangers, refusing to tell the H where he is before she died. The H finally tracks the child to the h's doorstep. FYI he's a prvateer. Anyhow, the h's father is a shipbuilder, the H is there purported to claim his newly built ship. He then starts to woo the h because he wants his son, but she doesn't know that. There's some excitement involved with deceit and somehow the h ends up shipbound headed to England. The H will have to choose between his son and the h. Sounds good. BTW it's set in early 1800's America.
THE SEASON is about a h who is a poor relation. She is in London for the season acting as companion to her beloved beautiful cousin who is having her come out. The H is older and is intent on marrying the h's cousin. The h doesn't think the H is a good match for her cousins; plus he's an arrogant ass, but the cousin's parents are pushing for the match because the H is very wealthy and well connected. There is an enmity between the two, but of course love blossoms. In the meantime the cousin becomes enamored with another young man, and the h's evil aunt and uncle are intent on marrying her off to an unscrupulous man.
That's it for today, ladies. I plan on going through the CR freebie section later today in case anyone is interested. Consider it a make up for the absence of a freebie list yesterday. Gotta earn my pay after all, otherwise Kate will threaten to fire me. LOL

LOL
OH. MY. GOD!!!!! I FOUND IT!!! I FOUND THE BOOK I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!! YAY!!!! I have been searching for this damn book FOREVER! I've done google searches, posted comments on Amazon, Librarythings.com, and even another site I found...whatsthatbook.com (make note Kate, I just found that one about two days ago.) Anyhow, I remembered the H was a marquess and I thought his first name was Adam so I went to a site I found a while back, but had forgotten about, allromancewriters.com where, if you know certain details about your book, you can find suggested titles. In my case I scrolled through a list of Adams and clicked on them randomly trying to see which book they were associated with. Do you know HOW MANY Adams there have been in romance novels? Too many! I quickly got tired of it, but decided to give it another go this morning. I scrolled through the interminable list of Adams until I found one with the title Marquess next to it and voila!! There was my book! I'm soooooo happy! I'm sure y'all can't tell. FYI, these sites are all great if you're trying to find books you've read in the past. Kate, whatsthatbook is nice because they actually notify you if someone responds to your request, unlike librarythings where you have to keep checking. I'm off to buy a copy of my book...best news, it's available in Kindle format!
But it's no wonder I couldn't find the damn book, it's been re-released in Kindle format under a different author's name--not that I remembered the original name--and it's no longer marketed as a Zebra Regency; the Kindle version was published by different company. I went through about 40 pages of Zebra Regency books on Amazon the other day because I was almost positive the book was a Zebra, or maybe Signet Regency, I wasn't sure which, but I thought it was one or the other. I'm crazy I know, but that just goes to show you how much this book has been driving me nuts! Well, can you guess which book I'll be reading next? ROTFL!
BTW here are the links to those sites I used in case anyone is interested. I have them all bookmarked.

Actually Kate, I think you threatened to dock my pay. LOL Belated Bride was really good. It's the one that follows ABDUCTION OF JULIA. I don't know if I've ever read, AOJ, but from the reviews I read I don't think I'd be too into it. Part of it sounds like it would really annoy the crap out of me, like where the h invites a prostitute to dine with her and the H during one of their dinner parties and apparently the h gets mad at the H because he got angry when the ho embarrassed them. Really?! I mean doing good works in one thing, but still, that seemed a bit extreme. She could have invited the woman to dine on a night when it was just her and the H. Anyhow, it doesn't sound familiar, and if I did read it, it didn't leave a lasting impression.
AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER sounds like a nightmare to me. FIVE kids, AND they are BRATS?! Hell no! LOL My cold is getting better, slowly but surely. The good news is the stomach virus symptoms lasted less than 24 hours. Now I just have the sniffles and an annoying sore throat. I hope you feel better soon, Kate. You've sure had it rough this winter; first pneumonia, now this.
Oh the name of the book is The Sinister Spinster. That is the original version in paperback, but it's recently been republished under a different author name; The Sinister Spinster. I'm telling you guys when you go to buy kindle books, especially historical ones, you really need to check out the other formats, because there's a chance you have it among any older books you have in storage. You'll notice that the kindle version of this book is NOTHING like the original paperback. LUD Well I'm off to read my book. Just got back from taking Lucian for his annual physical. TTYL

I definitely will. Thanks for the heads up. FYI, SS is loanable so I'd be happy to send it your way when I'm done, if you think you'd like to read it. I'm reading it now; it's amazing how much details about the story I remembered.

Okay, Kate. I'll let you know as soon as I finish it...should be tomorrow some time. I checked, but A Belated Bride is not loanable, unfortunately. I'll have to check out ROSE IN SCOTLAND after I finish this one. It's going good so far. The gorgeous Russian prince has shown up and he is NOT happy that Elizabeth is working as a companion. His pet name for her is "little queen" and he refers to himself as "her Alexi." LOL The H is already feeling somewhat possessive towards her too, much to his surprise. So we're only a few pages in and already the h has so handsome, sexy protectors. We should all be so lucky. LOL
BTW how did you like CAREW?

Hey EB. You mean you haven't been receiving any notices as we've been posting our comments? The list isn't that great today, a couple like good, I think. But make sure you bookmark those websites. They are good when you're looking for a book you can't remember.
How's it going today? Have you been working?

I'm off until Monday. I spent so much time with that contest. I've been reading silver thaw and the library called and said another book came in. ST is so good I'm really enjoying it. Are you feeling better?
Elizabeth wrote: "I didn't win anything with last nights contest and I wasted valuable reading time. Lol"
Oh I hate when I waste good reading time...it's a crime I tell you. At least you win at the contests some time. That last one you won...$50 GC?...that was awesome!
My book is so good. The Russian prince is a hoot. He's insulting the ladies that mistreat his Elizabeth, right and left, and the idiots don't even know it. He shows up in Elizabeth's bedroom as he please because she didn't show up to dinner and he wanted to check on her. The man is out of control. It's all Elizabeth can do to keep him on a tight leash. He hates her being so overworked and she's begging him to stay out of it!!!
Now he's decided that she should just marry the H and make him, the prince, an uncle. LOL He says the H must care to get so angry about the h being overworked and if he cares that must mean he wants to marry the h because, as the prince says, if the H means anything other than marriage the prince will kill him..."honorably of course, in a duel." ROTFL
I'm glad you're liking your book, EB. ST is is a CR? Oh speaking of CRs I promised Rachel I'd post a few links to some safe freebie CRs. As you will recall I've read a lot of CR earlier this year. LOL

Oh my I guess I did sound pathetic with my whining. I actually don't usually don't stay on the whole time a contest runs. I have won plenty of charms and GC's. I seen some books on there I'd like to try. Yes ST is a CR. The little girl in it is so adorable Rachel you will love her. Her father abused her as well as the mother. She is so cute. She tries to clean his bathroom and makes a mess of it bc on the can it said scrubbing bubbles so she thought they would do the work. Lmao. So like the imagination of a child. Lol
Hey Rachel here are the promised links to the freebie CRs. I've read all of these and they are safe. In the first one the H initially pursues the h because of a wager, but her very quickly falls in love. When she finds out about the wager she leaves him and he is made to suffer...I actually felt very sorry for him. Anyhow, when she finally decides to take him back she tracks him down at a charity event. He does have a date with him, but it's just a date that his cousin set him up with trying to get the H back into the real world because he's been so heartbroken over losing the h. There is nothing between him and the woman; he's really just her escort for the evening. Plus he dumps her as soon as he sees the h. LOL I gave that one 4 stars.

THE BRANDS WHO CAME TO CHRISTMAS is a good one! The H and h have a one night stand. She doesn't even know who he really is...he's a billionaire politician. Anyhow, when he discovers she's pregnant he immediately returns and is determined to be in her and his children's lives (twins). There isn't even the hint of another woman on the horizon. VERY SAFE. I think I gave this one 5 stars.
BREAKING UP WITH BARRETT is one of my absolute favorite CRs. The H hires the h to be his pretend fiancee for business purposes. Whenever he has business dinners he sends a car for her and she meets him at the restaurant, they do their thing then they go their separate ways. They have known each other all of their lives. Her father is the head gardener for the H's family and she grew up in the gatehouse. They met when the H was 8 and the h a newborn.
For most of their lives the H has had a crush on the h, but due to the age diff and their difference in social standing nothing came of it. When the story begins the h is already "working" for the H, but you learn some about their past throughout the story. The H dated etc. throughout the years, and was even considering proposing marriage to another woman at some point, but that was years before the story.
When the events of the story take place there is no OW. There was only one woman with whom the H would hook up every once in a while and he tells the h that since he hired her he hasn't been with the woman, so no issues there. This book is super romantic!!! The H is a bit of a stiff rump, he's so serious, so touch, so untouchable, but he's such a completely different person around the h; it really beautiful. I loved this book so much I've been price watching the other books in the series and just grabbed three of them for .99 cents a couple of days ago.
HOT PURSUIT I liked. I think I gave it 4 1/2 stars. I was a little iffy about the H at first, not because of anything he does in the present, but because of the way he behaved when he and the h were kids. Overall a good story, I thought. No OW, unless you count his job. LOL Throughout the story he doesn't think he can commit because of his job with HOT. He's helping the h get her sister back who has been kidnapped.
In MINE TO TAKE the H is ALL ABOUT the h! LOL It's the first of a two part story, but this first book does not end in a cliffhanger. The issue is resolved and the H and h get together. The second book is related to secrets from the H's past, which can choose to read or not. I was happy enough with the way book one ended and never read the second; although I might one day because I really liked the couple. FYI MINE is a second chance at love for the couple.
If you like HOT PURSUIT you will probably like HOT PACKAGE. It's the third book in the series; this one is novella length, while HP is a full length novel. This one is about a couple who get a second chance at love, just like the couple in HP.
ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS is one of those uber sweet stories. You know the type. It's about a man who meets a single mom while he's playing Santa Claus at his mall--yes, he owns the mall. Anyhow, the h has an adorable 6 year old daughter who asks the H for a daddy so her mommy can have help. LOL The two meet later in the parking lot and the story goes from there. The H is all about the h. No other woman. It's a feel good Christmas love story.
Well that's it for today. If I think of any others that I've read that I think are worth recommending I'll add them to the list. Hope your day at work isn't too bad. TTYL!

For the record, I didn't think you sounded whiney, and even if you were whining you had reason...you wasted good reading time! I'm happy to say this one I'm currently reading has none. :-)

Except Mine to Keep - I actually read that one already! I have the second book that I started, but I literally got side tracked with other books being released so I stopped reading it for some reason :)
Now I'm going to go back up to the list and ask you questions :) But i do have one question in regards to all of the books in question - are they all steamy reads or are some of them clean romances? Just so I know

In regards to the series by Kate Regency - The English Brothers? Have you read any of her other books in this series? I am thinking this author is a pretty "safe" one for me :)

No I haven't as yet. I was price watching and just two days ago got books 2 through 4 for .99 cents each. They r all actually still on sale right now. I certainly hope she's safe...she better be. I know in book two the next brother falls in love with the cousin of the h in book one. They met in their teens and he's had a crush on her since then. Cute! I'm not sure but I think she may have married and is now either divorced or widowed. I believe she may have lived in N.Y.
Book three is the romance of the brother who is the man whore. His lady love is the younger sister of a friend, I think. Definitely someone he's known since she was a child. I'd say if any of the books isn't safe that would be the one. But based on the first book, the author certainly knows romance so I doubt she'll have Alex running amok with other women once he meets his lady love...I think the h lived abroad for several years and is just returned to the States.
Book four I can't quite remember, but that might be the one with the shy brother. He isn't very good with women. I think the best friend of the h in book one is his love interest. I could be mixing up the facts of books 4 and 5 though. I'm not sure. I don't have book 5 as yet. Book 6 is the story of a cousin of the English brothers. She is the h in that book.
Yes most of the books on the list are steamy. I think the only one that isn't is the Christmas one. Nothing's very dirty though. Nothing beyond MINE TO TAKE. I take it you liked that book since you got the follow up book? I really liked it too.

I have no idea if I 'm going to read one of those next or if I am going to do a Catherine Anderson. Her books are so damn romance. I might do Silver Thaw because of the kiddo - EB is that one steamy at all?

Hey Rach, I take it you like steamy? I too was really surprised by how much I liked MINE TO TAKE. The H was so devoted the h, even during all the years that they were apart even though he didn't know if she'd ever come back to him. Imagine giving her up so that she would pursue her dreams. So romantic!

Good morning, ladies. There's nothing new for the freebie list today, unfortunately. However, EB I did see that CRIMSON is once again free. I believe you read and enjoyed EBONY recently and I offered to loan you my copy of CRIMSON. Now you can have your very own copy...for free! LOL

BTW ladies, CRIMSON is a repeat freebie. It was on our list back in November of '14 I think.

Hey RF! I do like steamy but it doesn't have to be for me to enjoy it. I get in moods lol!! After all those free books I downloaded, guess what book is drawing me in?? Captured by a Laird! I am reading the sample and let me just say - I hate Alison's brothers! Men and their rights? That's BS! If they have books, I won't be reading that crap for sure!!! Lol

Haha Yes, Alison's brothers are definitely assholes. But you see the book description says that the Douglas women will each have to face the enemy on their own. In other words, they have useless brothers!!! This is only the first book in the series; hopefully Mallory will be publishing the others soon. We do meet one of Alison's sisters later in the book, and she is a mess. I'd love to read her story; she seems a right handful.
Believe me I totally understand. I read by moods. With as many books as I have, I often find myself searching through my local library's digital catalog and Amazon for something that fits a particular mood. I finished my book today. It's as good as I remembered. It's because I was dying to read that book so much that I was in the particular mood I was in...you know, house party, h a companion, blah blah blah. LOL SINISTER SPINSTER was exactly what I wanted.
Anyhow, Kate I'm done with it. Let me know when you want me to email it to you. BTW did you get back CAPTURED? I've added it to my price watch list. I want to get my own copy; it was that good.! Rachel, we do loan each other books from time to time. Most e-books allow the owner to lend it once for a prescribed period of 14 days. When we loan books on Amazon the recipient has 7 days to download the loaned book and 14 days from that time to read it. I think the time limits are determined by the publisher. Unfortunately, some of the bigger named companies still don't allow lending. Books by big authors like Lisa Kleypas are not lendable. :-( Anyhow, keep that in mind when you're searching for books. I'm always happy to lend one.
Enjoy your day off, Rachel. I hope you get to relax this weekend. My hubby took the kids to visit his parents. They wont be back until tomorrow. YAY!!!!

Hello ladies I hope we're all feeling good this morning. RF I think you might like Silver Thaw too but you seem to be in the mood for anther type of read right now. Rachel it isn't that steamy the focus of the book I would say is healing and learning to trust again. This woman lost her virginity in the back of her husbands car and he wasn't sensitive to her needs or pain. She ends up pregnant and her parents talk her into marrying him. Starting with the wedding night he abuses her and seven yes later almost she is scared and numb. The H is very patient but both admit there are feelings but it takes aa while for her to want to be touched. RF we've talked before about this and CA did a great job with showing this ptsd. I mean that's basically what it is that she is going through. The author lightens the story with Chloe and her bonding with Mr. Jeb as she calls him. Later he turns into daddy Jeb. Lol there are other cute things she does and it is definitely one I want to reread. I did a review and did find one mistake but it did not change my rating bc it was that good for me. I also found out that I do have a book by her and have yet to read it. RF you may remember at Christmas time I bought a book by Lisa Kleypas and three other authors she was one of the authors. It's called three weddings I think. I just got baby love and coming up roses. So those are first. I also got Devil Takes A Bride kate by Julia London. Did you check out any of those books RF to see if they be tbr' that I gave you a couple days ago? Ok well I hope I answered your questions Rachel let me know what you thinki dying to hear.

Hey EB! No, I haven't checked out your list as yet because I found the book I was longing for and read it. I just finished it a little while ago, so I do plan on checking the list you sent me. I am still in the mood for a similar storyline, so hopefully something from your list will resonate with me.
BTW did you grab a copy of CRIMSON? It's the first book to EBONY. I posted the link in an earlier comment this morning. It's free right now!

Yes congrats on finding your book. I did grab a copy thanks. You rock girl. Did your hubby come down with what you had?
RF - I am so happy I wasn't the only one to seem to think her brothers were assholes! I mean, LORD - what is with families not wanting to help out their own. It makes me very sad but I ended up buying it hahaha because I am interested in the story! I can also lend some books on my nook and it's the same process! And I think it blows you can only lend once :( but I would be willing to lend also if there is one that's lendable! I also feel like the big time authors don't make their books lendable and that also blows :(
I am going to just enjoy the weekend. It's going to be such a pretty weekend I don't know how much reading time I'll get. I feel so bad for my husband, I got a little emotional on him this morning so he is now giving me space while watching Sopranos lol!! (It has to do with family drama between me and my parents) I couldn't stop crying. Just having a good ol' pitty party. So I'm gonna get up soon and we will probably go around town and get some lunch and whatever.
EB - you totally answered my questions! I agree that CA makes the most romantic heroes!!! I just know I'll be starting this book soon :)
