Elizabeth - I won't say a word haha but basically she thinks she can't have children because of a traumatic miscarriage I believe ... unless I am getting this book confused with a different book lol!!! But as far as what he said - yes he does say that but there is more to it that you will find out as you go. *zipping my lips*
Ok I won't ask anything else. Lol I don't want to ruin too much. I stayed up until midnight reading as much as I could. They are married now and she has a restraining order against Cody. She told him how her husband cheated on her and didn't seem to help prepare her for sex. Selfish bastard. I also know that Isabella was his child from another woman....fu?!ing bastard. Ok I work until 3 today and I'm praying she will be better today. Lol
Good morning, ladies! Here is today's freebie list.

RIDE WITH ME is a Christian western. Some reviewers think the religious aspect was overdone, but that's a personal thing, so it's hard to say.
I think GOSSAMER TRAIL is another western, although I can't tell...never mind. I am so wrong. I looked inside the book. It's set in the late 1800's ENGLAND. LOL It's about a h who is being threatened by an unknown person who wants her to move from her cottage. When she finds the H at her home she attacks him with a pan (LOL) and he ends up losing his memory, so she allows him to stay. I don't know what, if anything, he has to do with the people who want her out. The only reviewer I know gave it 2 stars, but L. Christensen is notoriously picky, but honest.
Okay THE TEMPTRESS has only one review, which is 4 stars, and it is absolutely useless! The blurb describes the plot as thus...the h's brother fless England. He leaves the H as her guardian and puts a stipulation on her inheritance--she must marry. She teams up with friends and decide to seduce the H, who she has always loved. What gives me pause is the comment in the blurb by the author. She writes...I do have the second book to this finished. Let me know through reviews if you would like me to publish it here on kindle as well. I'm not sure if that means that this book has a continuation, or if she's referring to another standalone book in the series. I'll have to download and check it out for myself. I'll let you know if there is a cliffhanger. Sigh
RING OF STONE is about a h who moves to England from America with her family. It is set in the late 1700's. The h wants to become a physician, but considering the time period that's an impossibility. She convinces the local doctor to let her help him. He has a secret that prevents him from allowing anyone close to him, but he begins to need the h. I'm not sure if there is a relationship between the doc and Rose, because one reviewer mentions a tall dark love interest for Rose, whom her social climbing mother hates. So I don't know if there's a love triangle, or if the doctor's need for Rose is professional, rather than personal. Oh there is also a ring of stone on the property where Rose's family lives that supposedly has magical powers. This is another book that I will give a quick once through and let you know what I find.
Well that's it for today, ladies. I'll let you know what I find with those two books I'm going to check out. Hopefully you will all find something on the list to whet your appetite. TTYL!

Okay so I just finished my quick review of THE TEMPTRESS. It's obviously written by a new author. The writing isn't bad though, but the book does need editing. The few parts I read I noticed several misused words. For example affirm is used instead of a firm, defiant, instead of definite, and so on and so forth. Furthermore, the book annoyed me from the very first page! The author knows next to nothing about the correct use of titles and forms of address. The H is a Duke but is constantly addressed as my lord, rather than your grace. Furthermore his name is Giles Beckingham, Duke of Ashley, but instead of referring to him as Lord Ashley, he's called Lord Beckingham, which is wrong, wrong wrong! The h is an unmarried lady but is styled Lady Greene, when she should be Lady Isabella. I'm thoroughly disgusted! Y'all know that one of my pet peeves is incorrect use of titles and forms of address.
Anyhow, as for the possible cliffhanger, there is one, but it has nothing to do with the romance. The h's brother flees England. He is involved in some secret goings on and has to leave. He's really broken up about it, especially at having to leave the h. They are twins. He knows that the h has always wanted the H, who is his best friend, so he decides to arrange things to throw the two together...hence the requirement that she marry in three months or forfeit her inheritance and the H being left as her guardian.
The h and H do get married. There are a lot of questions relating to her brothers whereabouts and his reasons for leaving. At some point he is accused of treason. Of course the h doesn't believe it. Nor does the H. The story is set during the time period right before America's fight for independence from English rule. The brother is either a traitor working for America, or a spy for England. I'm not sure, but by the end of the book is wanted for treason against the throne and an edict that anyone who is in communication with him will be punished is handed down.
Anyhow, at the end of the book a friend of the h has disappeared and it looks as though her brother is the one who kidnapped her. From what I gleaned the brother sneaked back to England and was secretly in attendance at the h's wedding. I don't know why he kidnapped the girl but the H and h assumes it's because she caught him at the wedding and he took her to prevent her from spilling the beans. The only problem with that theory is that the few parts of the story I read with the kidnapped girl, she didn't seem to know who her kidnapper is. I'm thinking they will be the H and h for book 2, which the author says has already been completed, but not as yet published. So in order to find out what happens with the brother you will have to read book 2.
It does seem like a fascinating story, but I refuse to torture myself reading a book with incorrect titles. It will only serve to annoy the heck out of me! LOL It's not that bad when there are only a few titles in the story, but from the little I read, there are several and they are all WRONG!
Well ladies, that is my take on THE TEMPTRESS from today's freebie list. If you're not as picky as I am about titles, it might actually be worth a read. Just be aware that the second book has not been published and may never be, which would leave you with a bunch of unanswered questions.
Now I'm off to do a quick once through of THE RING OF STONE. I have a sick five year old at home today. Poor Lucian is running a fever and has a nasty cough and sore throat. He got up earlier, but fell asleep on the couch. :-(

Okay so I did a quick run through of RING OF STONE. From the little I read, the h ends up with the man that is beneath her station and she is working with the doctor. She refers to herself as a physician and she and the other doctor run a clinic. A woman being a physician in the late 1700's I'm not sure how realistic that is, but I digress. There isn't a love triangle and I have figured out what the doctor's secret is. It's a doozy!!! Oh, there is another character who was raped by a local earl to whom the h's sister is engaged. Of course no one believes the woman about the rape, but she does try to warn the h about the earl's cruelty. The sister does marry the earl, but he gets his in the end. The h's love interest, the one she marries, is a caretaker. Oh scandalous!!! ROTFL!
Hi everyone. I am loving the story now Rachel. He just seen his birthday present laying on his bed with a red ribbon. Today went better with my lady. Her PT came and she lied to him telling him she hasn't used the steps. LOL but he aid be careful we can't make her not use them so there we are. When I came in this morning she had all her throw rugs all over. It was like being at my gmas. She got feisty when I went to help her so I let her have at it. It did her good I think.

Hi EB, I'm glad your day went better today. Sounds like your client is just trying to exert some independence. Poor thing, but poor you more. LOL At least you survived. When do you go back to work?
BTW did you check out the freebie list today as yet? When you do, don't miss the following two posts where I provide more details about a couple of the books on the list. I basically downloaded, reviewed, then deleted them. I didn't have any interest in reading either.
Lucian has has been sick today. He was running really high fevers all day. Poor baby. He seems better now, but I guess we'll see how he does tonight. TTYL!

I go back tomorrow. I am off Thursday Friday and Saturday. I didn't think any of the books sounded good to me. I have finishing up Razong Kayne. I've been busier this week bc of my client but I got a little reading in. I hope Lucien gets better soon. Febers suck. That's how my kids use to say it.
Thanks RF as always! You are so sweet with these lists! I am so sorry about poor Lucian! I hope he feels better soon! I hope his fever isn't too high! That always makes me worry!Elizabeth - OMG the story gets so addictive. Wait until you see how romantic Kayne can be. He does the freaking nicest most thoughtful things EVER! I am SO glad today went better with your client haha. I have a very challenging day in the ICU today. My client apparently thought it would be super fun to cough up phlegm and proceed to wipe it all over himself and pee all over himself. OH and try to get to the toilet while all of his IV's were connected to a fluid pump. He really tried my patience today quite a bit, but I provided car with a smile LOL Of course, I did tell him if he didn't stop trying to pull his IV's out by running to the toilet with them still connected to the IV pump that he didn't feel like rolling that I'd strangle him with the tubing :D I cleaned him so many times it wasn't even funny. OH and he vomited and it splashed me! AND I got a GI bleed admit from the ED LOL!!! Very eventful day for me!

OMG Rachel, your description of your day brings back memories...and NOT good ones. LOL. You go back tomorrow too, don't you? Ugh! You're welcome re the list. Today's wasn't very inspiring.
Lucian's temp went pretty high. At one point he was just over 104. I gave him Motrin; once during the day and then right before bed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the fever breaks soon. This is the second time he's had the flu this season. Last time he ran a fever for four days.

Lol wow I had a bad day yesterday but it sounds like yours was worse. I had a head strong client who wants to go down steps by herself. No IV's were involved or pee. Lol are you referring to his mother's Day gift. So sweet

RF - LMAO I thought it might bring back memories! What can you do but laugh? The funny thing is, he totally knows he is a troll. When I was leaving and introducing him to his new nurse Gregory, he faked like he caught a stake in his heart and swooned over not having me anymore for the day. I told him, "I know, I am just so fabulous that you can't be without me." hahaha Sometimes you just have to join the crazies to make the day go by.
Oh no! 104! That's freaking high! This damn flu season is crazy town. The flu vaccine that we were all forced to take as healthcare workers is even the wrong damn strain! ugh I am working tomorrow, but I'll be in the One Day Surgery so it will be slightly better haha
Elizabeth - OMG YES! That's the first thing. He only gets better. FREAKING LOVE HIM!

That's so true Rachel. You really have to dig into your crazy side to make it through a twelve hour shift in a hospital. LOL.
Yes my poor potent had been burning up. Luckily kids deal a lot better with being sick than we do. He's not fussy and I have to force him to take it easy and rest otherwise he'd be running around like a race car. Actually today he was very willing to lie around with me, which is when you know he really is sick. He wasn't fussy though, just a little needy and didn't want me to leave him for too long so I got to grab a nap. Haha
My daughter who is almost eight deals less well with being sick the older she gets. She too was a bundle of energy when she was younger even with a fever of 102.
Ya EB, I'd say having to constantly clean pee and phlegm, and being splashed with summertime else's vomit pretty much takes the trophy for worst day. LOL Although I don't envy you having to deal with a difficult senior. They can be so much like children, only worse because they're adults and we can't control them as easily as we can a child.
Well ladies I'm for bed. Gnite!

Goodnight RF :D I am fixing to delve into Soaring by Kristen Ashley again and go to bed myself. I am EXHAUSTED! LOL I hope the kiddo wakes up feeling great tomorrow!Elizabeth - I am not at ALL diminishing what you do in complaining about my day. Let me tell you, dealing with senior citizens that are demented is EXTREMELY hard. Some of my worst days as a nurse sometimes are dealing with clients like you do on a daily basis. It takes a special person! That's for sure!
Good morning, ladies. Here is today's freebie list. Let's hope it's more inspiring that yesterday's. LOL

HEIRESS WITHOUT A CAUSE the H's family is inundated with scandal so he needs a "proper" lady to chaperone his sisters. Enter the h,but unknown to the H the h secretly has an acting career. According to the blurb she sets up her "acting persona" to be the H's mistress. I don't know how he wouldn't recognize her as his sister's chaperone, but maybe she makes herself up to look like a perfect dowd when she's out in society??
THE DUKE'S RETURN involves an older woman younger man scenario. I'm not sure of the age difference. The h is the widowed duchess, the H the new duke. I'm not sure what exactly their relationship is, stepmother/stepson, or cousins by marriage? I just don't know. Anyhow, the duke has a disability, Kate...he's dyslexic. LOL Anyhow, one review mentions being frustrated because the h keeps refusing to marry the H even after she finds out she's pregnant. Sounds like something that would annoy the crap out of me too! LOL
Wow in going to review the Amazon page for the author of THE DUKE'S RETURN, I discovered that she had another book available for free, HER NORMAN CONQUEROR. Sweet! This one is a medieval set during the Norman invasion of England. The h is ordered by the Saxon king to marry her stepbrother so that a male will be head of the keep which she owns, instead she rebels and marries a poacher she discovers on her lands. Turns out her new "husband" is a Norman spy, so now her keep is in the hands of a Norman. Sounds delicious! I've never read a medieval where the h willingly turns herself over to a Norman, albeit unintentionally. LOL One asshole posted a 1 star review for this book because they didn't like the cover. Here's what the reviewer said...
"Despite it being about the period in which I have the greatest interest the cover instantly told me not to buy it. If the cover is that inaccurate to the period, what must the writing be like?"
Are you kidding me? Who reviews a book they haven't read based on the cover? What a dickhead!!!! LOL
PRIDE AND PRUDENCE is yet another freebie from the same author. I hope this doesn't turn out to be like all those Mail Order Bride stories we got from that Whitby author where we had like a dozen of her books for free and it turned out that she couldn't even write! Remember that Kate? LOL
In any event, this story is about a H who is a Captain with a rep for being "The Most Delectable Man in England." LOL The H's lost his ship to a smuggler's canon. He's now investigating the smuggling and trying to catch the notorious "Wolf" who is said to be the head of the criminal ring. The H and h meet, at some point they get discovered in a compromising position and are forced to wed. She has a secret that may or may not result in the destruction of their marriage. This synopsis I got from one of the reviews. The blurb indicates that the h is associated somehow with the H's despised enemy, but I don't know if that has anything to do with her secret.
I've decided to grab all three of these books. The author is fairly new and upcoming. Worst case she'll prove to have very little talent and the books will suck, but on the other hand they could turn out to be fantastic. Frankly, I'll be happy if they are readable and entertaining; in other words a three star read for me. LOL I don't really expect anything more from a new author, but nothing less is acceptable either. On the author's Amazon page there are four historical romances listed as well as four other nonfiction history books.
I don't know what's going on, but we actually have a Christina Dodd freebie today. RULES OF ATTRACTION is the 4th book in Ms. Dodd's Governess Brides series. The h is the proprietor of a governess agency. She has decided to sell and accepts one last assignment as companion to a mysterious new earl's aunt. When she arrives she discovers to her shock that the new earl is actually her estranged husband; they have been separated for nine years. Hiring the h is all part of the H's plan to enact revenge against her, I'm assuming for leaving him.
There is some excitement in the plot as there is someone who is bent on murdering the H. The previous two earls were also murdered. From the reviews that I have read it seems a lot of readers had a hard time liking the H. I provided a link to a 4 star review that lays out the book's plot pretty nicely. She says the H was very hard to like initially because he was so cold and bent on revenge, but he does redeem himself. I always liked Dodd so I plan on giving this book a try for myself. I can't remember if I've ever read any of the books in this series. Here's the link...

Haha EB, our first Keira Montclair freebie!! It's RESCUED BY A HIGHLANDER. I read this book, compliments of a loaner from our dearest EB. I think I rated it 3 1/2 stars. My main complaint is that it was overly dramatic and there were a lot of implausible plot devices, for example the one scene where the h has a broken arm but is still able to hold on to a rope so that she can be pulled up from a hole while holding a child...all without complaining, of course. LOL HOWEVER, I was in a MAJOR reading slump when I read this book, and it did the trick; it got me back into reading and for that I will always be grateful. It may be overly dramatic, but the romance is beyond sweet. Alex saves Madeline and is utterly devoted to her from the very beginning. Isn't that right, EB? Rachel this is a safe book. I'm not sure how you feel about drama, but...
Oh, FYI the heroine is made to endure serious beatings from her evil stepbrother and is raped by the man that she was supposed to marry. Although we don't get to "see" the rape scene, we do hear about it through the heroine's memories. Figured I'd throw that out there in case anyone is sensitive to rape in the books they read. EB I grabbed a copy for myself. I may actually reread it.
Well I'm calling it quits right here, ladies. I'm tired. I've been up since 4 a.m. with my son. He had a temp of 104 and couldn't go back to sleep. We finally gave up and got up at 5:30. He's pretty easy and is very pleasant, but he likes to have me close by, which means I can't get much done. So, I plan on reading while sitting on the couch. Nice excuse, huh? LOL BTW has anyone noticed that we now have NINETEEN members in our group, but most don't ever speak! Sigh!
You know, I still think about Noreen. I even find myself getting teary eyed at times, because I'm convinced that only a death, whether hers or a close family members, could have resulted in Noreen leaving us so precipitously. :-(
TTYL!

TTYL!
FREEBIE LIST PART II
Okay ladies, I'm now sitting on the couch. I can't leave anything half done, so of course I had to keep going through the freebie section. I found a ton--and I do mean ton-more free books. I wont give a synopsis of each, but here are the links so you check them out for yourself. The first two are by established author Margaret Moore. I read her The Overlord's Bride and loved it. However, these two freebie do have mixed reviews.

THAT SCANDALOUS EVENING is another Dodd novel. It's the first book in her Governess Brides series. Book 4 is on my earlier list.
HIS STOLEN BRIDE is an American historical. The H from a Moravian community in NC. He entrusts his sweetheart in his brother's care and goes to PA to intern with the h's father to learn to become a shopkeeper. He ends up working for the h who works in her father's shop. The H then learns that his lady love has been engaged to his brother and races home to stop the wedding. Only problem is that something has been developing between the h and H before he left.
WILD INDIGO is another American historical. Orphaned white h is raised by Indians. She marries a white man, the H. I'm not sure when/how the marriage came about, but the h's past is the stumbling block to the romance. A couple of reviewers also mentioned the h's problems in the bedroom.
TEMPTING A PROPER LADY is about a H who was stranded on an island for two years. He returns to England to discover his fiancee is about to marry another man--a man who is an enemy of the H's. The H teams up with his fiancee's wedding planner, the h, to try to stop the wedding.
Oooh THE PRETENDER sounds good. It's set around the time of the American Civil war. The H is a confederate spy. He is injured while pretending to be a Union soldier. He is nursed by the h. They separate. Unbeknownst to the H the h was pregnant. Years later they reunite. This is when he finds out he has a son.
Okay PERILOUS PLEASURE is a weird one. It involves magic, astrology, and only God knows what else. The h was "sold" by her courtesan mother in order to ensure their safe passage out of France pre-revolution. Years later the H is sent by his mentor, the Dark Lord (this is the man to whom the h had been sold) to fetch the h. The H is the Dark Lord's heir. There's something about the h's virginity being needed for some type of ritual and the H being celibate for nine years. I gathered taht the h decides to seduce the H as she thinks losing her virginity will save her from whatever fate awaits. Oh BTW Kate, you'll probably love this fact, the h is scarred from having small pox as a child and is said to be ugly. I know how much like a physically damaged protagonist. LOL I really can't make the plot any clearer. It's pretty convoluted and my five year old keeps interrupting me. :-)
EMILY'S VOW is another American historical. It's set around the time of the American war for independence from British rule. The h is thrown into a loyalist prison on some charge. The man who accused her offers to recant if she agrees to marry him. The H is a patriot spy posing as a loyalist officer. He hs always loved the h. He challenges the h's accuser to a duel. At first I though the H was the accuser who was trying to force her to marry him, but it turns out I was wrong. I don't know if there is a marriage of convenience involved in this plot. FYI, there is only one review.
I think that's it. If I've missed any, I'll add them to tomorrow's list. Most books are offered for free for at least a few days. TTYL!

Hi ladies, I thought I'd pass along these deals I found today. Two Kleypas novels for $1.99 each! They are books one and two in the Gamblers 2 book series. Here are the links.
http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...
http://smile.amazon.com/Dreaming-You-...
I also grabbed this one for .99 cents. I've had it on my wishlist for months price watching. The price has fluctuated between $7.99 and $5.69. I was so happy when I saw the .99 cent price tag this morning! Yay! Sometimes it pays to be cheap. ROTFL Anyhow, its one book which incorporates three different romances each written by a different author and incorporated into one story. That's even more amazing than an anthology! The authors are none to be sneezed at either; Julia Quinn, Eloisa James, and Connie Brockway. Here's a synopsis for the book...
When Laird Taran Ferguson’s nephews refuse to wed and secure his birthright, he takes matters into his own hands, raiding a ball and kidnapping four likely brides—a bonny lass, an heiress with a slight reputation problem, a rich English beauty, and a maiden without a name or a fortune. But which one is ready to fall in love with the Scottish lord? Add a very angry duke, a decrepit castle, and a fierce Highland storm that is holding all of Taran’s “guests” captive to the mix, and readers will find themselves transported to a world of temptation, passion, and new and unexpected love. This historical romance novel in three parts—a single story with three compelling voices—is one that will not soon be forgotten.

FYI I just discovered that these same three authors have another book together which is also on sale for .99 cents. Here's that link.
http://smile.amazon.com/Lady-Most-Lik...
The synopsis for that book reads as follows...
A near-fatal accident with one of his beloved horses prompts Hugh Dunne, the Earl of Briarly, to realize it is time to get married. The only problem is that while Hugh might know horses, he knows nothing about women, which is why he turns to his sister Carolyn, the Marchioness of Finchley. Not only does Carolyn compile a select listing of the season’s most sought-after ladies, including the delightfully blunt Katherine Peyton and reigning beauty Gwendolyn Passmore. She invites them, as well as war-hero Captain Neill Oakes and newly titled Alec Darlington, to a country-house party. Now all Hugh has to do is select his bride, but he had better hurry, because it turns out he has some serious competition for the ladies.
I'm telling you Amazon has been like a treasure trove for low priced/free books today! Some days I find nothing, other days a lot. Hopefully from the extensive collection we can each find at least one book that makes us super happy. :-)

Wow you went all out RF. Nothing seemed to peak my interest. I finished Razing Kayne and thank you Rachel. I really enjoyed it. I Disavowed is my next read. I hope it is as good as the last of them in the series. I have been really selecting a lot of action/ police officer type books. Kate I see you recommended overlord's bride. I'm going to check it out.
I noticed a lot of the freebies are by the same author. I seen your review. It was short or is that the Amazon version. lol Why no RF I'm not bitter towards Amazon. Why'd you ask? LMAO

Poor baby! You should write a long review next time and I promise you it will get submitted. There is no 1000 word limit. Have you read some of those reviews for electronics? Some of them are super long and they have video attachments and everything. It's like reading a blog! LOL
I see you're heading to DISAVOWED next. I see you got hooked on that series. LOL That's cool. I have yet to read the second book. I'm in the Highlands again.
Yesterday I found a book that I read umpteen years ago. I've spent forever trying to find another copy of it, but I apart from some details in the story, I could never remember the book...not the title, not the author. I've tried Googling it, and even asked for help on a couple of romance forums. Yesterday I came up with the idea to post a comment on the Amazon Customer Discussion board in the Romance Forum asking if anyone recognized the story. Within HOURS a lady sent me a link asking if this was the right book, and it was! OMG! I was sooo happy. I bought a copy and read it right away. It was just as good as I remembered. Sigh! I was in heaven.
Anyhow, I bet you can't guess what I'm reading now. I'm in the Highlands.

Thanks EB. Lucian was actually doing better for a few hours. I gave him Motrin about four this morning. then for the rest of the day his temp was good. I got excited because I thought for sure his fever had broken. Unfortunately, that was not the case. It held for about twelve, then started to go back up. I had to medicate him again this evening. And the poor darling has a nasty cough!
I'm super happy to get my own copy of KM's book too. I see you didn't even take a stab at guessing which book I'm reading now so I'll tell you...I'm reading that one. LOL. I don't know if I'll end up reading the whole book, but we'll see. Enjoy HRT!
I got so many new books today there's no way I'm ever going to be able to read all these books before I die. I'm already planning how I'll pass my library on to my heirs. My daughter will have to take over my Amazon account. ROTFL. Hopefully, she'll be a romance reader too.

OMG! That's a great epitaph EB and so appropriate! I'm so tired. It's been a long day. Lucian has been great most of the day, but he's had his fussy moments when he was feeling particularly bad. Plus we've been up since super early. I hope he sleeps past four tomorrow morning. You can pass your books along to one of your nieces.

I know but none of my nieces would give them the love they deserve. Lol I get to sleep in tomorrow too. It's been over a week.
You ladies are a riot!!! I feel like I missed out on one big conversation today! LOL Thanks as always for all of your freebie deals RF. I am glad Lucian is starting to take a turn for the better - hopefully you are still manage to control his fever. Did they give him Tamiflu or anything to help? EB, I am SO glad you love Razing Kayne. I think he was an amazing hero and I liked the heroine as well! They both deserved a happy ending and I'm SO glad they got it! :D
Kayne's late wife's story was so sad. To know who it was that raped and abducted her was a shock. Cody's farewell cracked me up after he made the comment about sacrificing little Gracie. What a jackass. I wish they would have showed their baby though.

That's my only complaint too HOWEVER, if the series would have continued like it should have had the author not died (God rest her soul) we would have seen more of this couple and their future children. Cody was a lunatic.
Oh yeah I forgot she passed away. Kaynes father and mother were both sickening. This HRT is similar in the sense the man loses his wife. I think it's too soon to read another grieving spouse and the end he is just then removing his wedding ring so I think I'm going to read another book. Let me see... I'll have to get back with you guys on this

I can tell you right now, that book where he is only then taking off his ring at the end, NOPE, not for me hahahaha
That's where I am at bc I need to feel like the h or H is #1. I don't like it when one is mourning the whole book over the lost love. That is why me and RF read the end bc that spared me the grief. I am in the mood for a book similar the Montclair book on the freebie list today. I like the haunted, strong h who is brought back to life by a protective H. Sigh
Elizabeth wrote: "That's where I am at bc I need to feel like the h or H is #1. I don't like it when one is mourning the whole book over the lost love. That is why me and RF read the end bc that spared me the grief...."Oooh that DOES sound good. I am trying to think of something similar to that that I've read. Have you read Annie's Song by Catherine Anderson????
Never heard of the book or author. I'll look it up. I feel like I caught RF's book slump. That sucks bc I'm off the next 3 days
I've read three books by that author and loved them all but Annie's Song was amazing!! That hero was absolutely fantastic.
Is it depressing. I'm reading the reviews and it sounds heavy. I know at some level it probably is but I hate if the h constantly feels sorry for herself or H dwells on dead wife. I know you hate that too so I'm confident that's not the case but...
Whoa price a bit more than I wanted to send. I'm a cheap skate even with a GC and I just wasted 3.99 on the HRT but it's my own dumb fault
No actually the hero was never married. His parents died when he was younger and he feels responsible. He assumed care of his younger brother and basically has always let him get away with crap and always believed the best in him until he realizes what he had done. The prologue contains sensitive subject matter. It's a pretty messed up situation. Let me start off by saying this - little Annie was I think about 19 or 20 at the start? She is deaf but everyone thinks she is crazy so when the hero's brother rapes her, he condones it by saying she won't tell anyone because she is crazy. This happens in the very beginning. The hero finds out and is absolutely appalled at his brother. He gives him money and kicks him out. He goes to Annie's family right away to offer whatever he can for Annie. This hero is not a man whore at all. He has sex every now and then going several months at a time without it because sex is not a priority in his life. It's always been raising his brother and working his ass of to do it. Well Annie ends up pregnant and Alex immediately accepts responsibility but the beautiful part is when he realizes almost immediately that Annie is not crazy but DEAF and everything he does for her is just amazing. She is basically this child trapped in a woman's body and he woos her and it's so damn romantic. But yes, it does have a sad start and it is heavy but oh so beautiful!
Damon I forgot about the price! I got mine from my library app so I borrowed it for free! Do you ever try that from your local library!?
Good morning, ladies. Seems like a missed a lot of chit chat last night. I actually followed on my kindle for a while, but I was way too exhausted to jump in...especially since I had to type on my device. I much prefer typing on the computer. God only knows what auto correct would have done with any response that I made. LOL
Annie's Song with the deaf h who everyone assumes is "touched" sounds fantastic. Unfortunately, my library doesn't have a copy either and ten bucks is kind of steep to pay for a book when I have over two thousand other books in my cloud that I have yet to read. LOL Kate have you read this book? It sounds like it might be right up your alley, what with the deaf h. Rachel, Kate loves books with a disabled h or H. The type of disability doesn't matter; deaf, dumb, blind, so if you come across any of those please drop us a comment so she can be aware of it. AS actually reminds me of Maya Banks Never Seduce a Scot with a deaf heroine that everyone assumes is touched. Oh the ignorance of the times. Sigh!
BTW EB you have read Maya Banks NEVER SEDUCE haven't you? It's a Highland romance where the H and h are forced to marry by order of the King to ensure peace between the two clans. The h had an accident years previous and became deaf. She allows everyone to think she's touched because it got her out of an unwanted engagement to an unscrupulous man. If you haven't read it, it might fit the bill of what you're looking for. The H is fantastic. I loved the fact that he refused to sleep with the h because he thought she really didn't understand about the marriage bed, yet he was determined to remain faithful to their vows. That one bowled me over! I think you've probably read it already. If you haven't and you want to let me know. I think I can hook things up and get my hands on a copy for you...for free!
Hey Rach, I haven't taken Lucian to the doctor. I'm just letting him ride it out. With the basic flu they don't usually give the kids anything. It's Motrin and Tylenol for the fever, and if it's really high, you can alternate between the two to keep it under control. We're actually not even that bad. His fever responds nicely to Motrin and yesterday he was afebrile for several hours after the last dose of Motrin would have worn off, so I was really hoping that the fever had broken. Alas, that was not the case. He was back up to 104 yesterday evening. I gave him his last dose of Motrin around five yesterday evening and he's now 101. I don't usually medicate a fever under 102, unless their symptomatic, which they usually are not. As a matter of fact my kids would run around playing all day with a fever of 102 if I'd let them. I have to force them to slow down and rest so they can get better. It's just too easy to over-medicate them.
Anyhow, I'm off to check the freebies for today, although I'm thinking after all the new ones yesterday I probably wont find anything new today. TTYL!

Okay here are a few freebies. This first one I've read and reviewed. I gave it 4 stars. It's cute and clean. I liked it, but did have a couple of issues with the plot. FYI Rachel, there is a love triangle...between the H, the h, and the...h! ROTFL Yes the H is torn between two women, he just doesn't realize that they are one and the same. He's so sweet, yet so endearingly dumb.

GRANDEST CHRISTMAS is a novella about an Irish h who spends Christmas with her uncle and the family he just married into; one chock full of aristocrats, which overwhelms the h, who is a simple girl from all accounts.
RANCHERS OUTLAW WIFE is, of course, a western. The h is on the run; she's dressed as a boy--I'm sure you LOVE that, Kate (LOL)--and she's injured. She takes shelter in the H's barn where he finds her and nurses her back to health. He's determined to protect her, even if that means marriage. I'm sure there's some excitement surrounding her circumstances, which will have to be resolved before true love is allowed to reign. Haha FYI, it's a novella; only around 40 pages.
MY SOUL TO KEEP ARION is the third and final installment of the My Soul to Keep trilogy. I've read all three; this one is the best of the three, but as far as I am concerned, that's not saying much. I don't recommend the trilogy, but I included it because I know that we all have different taste in books; what I hate someone else will love. Plus we did have the first two books on the list and someone might be waiting for the third.
That's it for this morning, ladies. TTYL!

Rachel wrote: "Damon I forgot about the price! I got mine from my library app so I borrowed it for free! Do you ever try that from your local library!?"God it felt so good to sleep in. Rachel~ I went on Amazon to check out Annie's Songs price again. I was hoping for it to drop but it shot up from 5.?? to over $7. So that's a no go. LOL I won a $50 gift card but I don't want to go through real fast. It's funny bc before I met RF I bought Hannah Howell, Lindsay Sands, Gaelan Foley, Jennifer Ashley and all of their books are $5- $6 and I never flinched. Now I'm spoiled by RF's freebie list and when I do buy a book it's .99-3.99. If was Lisa Kleypas I wouldn't hesitate $5- $6. If I love past work that well I will pay but never experiencing it before I just don't want to be impulsive. That does seem like a high price to pay to me. I mean even the above authors don't charge that much. But when I did my review for RK yesterday they ad it available in paperback and their price was $59 plus shipping. No that's not a typo. I was astounded seeing that. Anyhow I am still on a search today for a book. Ugh. Hey have you ever read Gaelan Foley? Her Knight brothers series is so awesome. There are two identical twin brothers but my favorite is Alex Knight. He is smoking hot. He was a gambler and had to sell himself to a bitch of a lady but in his book One Night of Sin he is such a great, possessive H. He doesn't stray from the h but the bitch comes back in this book to create trouble but don't worry there is no separation from the H/h. Once they meet they are basically together throughout. That's the type of story I like. Now if your looking for the kids in all this there is Her Only Desire has an adorable little boy. There are so many moments in that series that I loved.
RF~ I have read Maya Banks before just not the one you mentioned. I have a series in paperback upstairs I'll have to look and see the titles. I'll get back with you on that. Yes when she said the h was deaf Kate was the first person I thought of. I too like typing on the computer verses my smart phone. My responses are limited bc of it. I think that was why I never brought up Kate b4 but last night I was beat and I crashed shortly after my last response. I only slept until 8 but it felt wonderful. I've been getting up between 5-6 and going to bed around 11 and it just hit me hard last night. It felt like 10:00 but was only 8 lol.
Elizabeth wrote: "RF~ I have read Maya Banks before just not the one you mentioned. I have a series in paperback upstairs I'll have to look and see the titles. I'll get back with you on that. Yes when she said the h..."OK so I returned Disavowed. I know there seems to be a big controversy over people doing this but I did not read but a little of the beginning and the end and knew it wasn't going to work. I mentioned it yesterday that the H was hung up on his dead wife throughout the book and that is a big no n for me. I don't think I did anything wrong by returning it even though I've read other people saying that is wrong to do so but had I read the whole thing then yes it would be wrong but I look at it this way. If I buy a blouse but don't try it on b4 I leave the store and after getting it home I find it doesn't fit I can return it. If I forced myself to read it and did a review I can promise you the author would have been unhappy and all the other books I've read by her I've given glowing reviews. They were great reads for me.

Girl please, you're preaching to the choir. I have no problems returning a book. It's like anything else you buy; if it doesn't work for you send it back! LOL It's not like you read the entire book and THEN returned it. Plus I know people who do that, but usually that's if they really, really hated a book. I think they return it to make a point. Besides, Amazon gives you up to seven days to return a book, so it has to okay to do so occasionally, right?
BTW I love the way I get blamed for your cheapness! ROTFL But it's nice to know that we've rubbed off a little on each other. I've made you more frugal, but you've made me more willing to spend at least a few bucks on a book I really want. It's why I got The Overlord's Bride, and I loved it!
I too hate it when the H is hung up on a late wife. It's supposed to be a romance between the H and a NEW woman, not the dead wife. LOL Remember that CR I read for NG? That was the big problem I had with it...the H was talking to his dead wife's picture 50% into the story. Oh and the h looked AND sounded like the dead wife. Ugh!
It's not that I'm against a H who still has feelings for a late wife. I've read many of those; where the h comes along and knocks him on his feet, but he's still mourning a dead wife. But the mourning has to be over way before the end of the book. It cannot drag on through the story, otherwise it's not a romance between two people, but a love triangle. I know how much you hate those, Rachel. LOL
Anyhow, check out MB's book, Never Seduce a Scot, and let me know if you'd like to try it. I think I've figured out how to get you a copy if you want. BTW did you check with your library to see if they had a copy of ANNIE'S SONG?

RF~ OMG when we first started talking I had reached a point where shelling out a lot of money for 2-3 days of pleasure got out of hand. I was giving you credit with introducing me to other options. LMAO. I have dished out big money for my books and if it's good I have no problem with that but if there is a way to save duh! Thank you for that. What I read with Kaylea Cross's book was the H watching his wife dressed as a pin up in her bikini and the silent appreciation shared between the two. She dies but I couldn't get passed that bc I had already read the end where the new couple are lying in bed and the h acknowledges that he removed his wedding ring and knows how hard it must have been for him. She knows what it meant to him and that was it for me. That based on the beginning which actually happened 4 yeas prior to the start with Briar. Seriously not my type of story. I looked at MB's book and it looks good just not what I'm in the mood for. I hate feeling like this.

I know you were giving me credit. I've done the same thing to my husband. There was a time when I'd send him to the store and he'd come back with an unapproved purchase. When I'd ask how much it cost he'd look at my blankly. Now he still can't really tell me the price, although he can give me a general idea, but he's always able to tell me that it was on sale. LOL
What are you in the mood for? God knows between my books and yours we should be able to find something to tempt you. I'm rereading that crazy Montclair book, BTW. Yes, the overly dramatic one! ROTFL

My library has every book by her it seems but the one I want. Isn't that the way it usually goes girls. LOL I know you were teasing me RF. I just wanted to make it clear. I can be OCD in that respect. Instead of just getting to the point I have to go off into this full explanation. Don't ask why I even felt the need to clarify my POV of my cheapness. Anyhow I may go down to the library and check things out. All these books I have and nothing sounds good and I feel like since I have the time I'm wasting my precious time not reading something.
I'm so glad Lucian is doing so much better! Yay! :) thanks for the freebies and YES AS reminds me of Never Seduce a Scot. I read all of those by Maya Banks and loved them!! Talk about faithful and amazing heroes!!! There is another book by Catherine Anderson called Blue Skies and it's about blindness :) and also there is Flowers from the Storm as well by another author. The hero had a stroke back in the day and people think he is crazy! That one was good as well but definitely pushed my buttons with the hero being a major player and all in the very beginning. I know what it's like not to get solid sleep. I have been stressing over this pregnancy business and sad to say but I think I'm starting my period :( I told my husband last night we are having sex every single day when I'm supposedly ovulating - no buts!!! Lol! I kept waking up last night - ugh.
