Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Finished my book and working on another I'm at about 60% and it is the exact opposite of the book I fonished and I started it b4 I started the other. It was a nice contrast between the two reads. I am working today and we got another boat load of snow. I'm going to my review later tonight

Hey Ladies, sorry I'm so late posting the freebie list today, and it's going to be a short one. My hubby was running late this morning, what with having to shovel and all. Anyhow, he had the stupid plan to shovel, take the girls to school (we carpool with another family) and then return home to shower and get ready for work. Since as Hannah's school is on the way to work, that made no sense to me. So, I took the girls to school. I then had to kill some time before dropping Lucian off (there was no sense in coming all the way back home then going back to drop him off) so I went to the grocery store.

Anyhow, that's what happened, so I'm just now getting around to running through the freebie section. I also don't have much time because I need to take Lucian to gymnastics, which is why the list is going to be short.

In BITE ME YOUR GRACE, the H is a duke and a vampire. It sounds like it will be a fun read. LOL

CONSTANCE is set during the pre French revolution era. The h is torn between an English baronet and a Spanish count.

ROMANCING LADY STONE has an older h. She has already been married--a marriage of convenience that wasn't quite so convenient--and has four children. At least one of which is of marriageable age.

GEEK GIRL AND SCANDALOUS EARL is a time travel romance; modern day h, regency H. It's said to be a fun light-hearted read, but there are a few negative reviews.

REGENCY HOUSE is a novella. It's a new book; no reviews so far. It's by Elizabeth Moss, who has written a few books. I've actually read a couple of her novellas; POPPEIA AND THE PETTICOAT CLUB being one that I loved. The other novella I read by her I didn't enjoy quite as much...think I gave it 3 stars.

Anyhow, that's it for today ladies. Short list, but all new books. I hope everyone finds something to her taste. TTYL!

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments RF read my review on here bc Amazon would not publish it and I tried to revise but was not in the mood to play where's waldo with my review so I typed a retarded one for Amazon but put the original on here. Amazon really pisses me off! Oh can I put that I may offend someone?! They are selling a book that contains some pretty graphic things but don't tell people about! God no let's make it look clean and appropriate meanwhile the ladies got her lace panties and her knees!! OOOHH I'm so mad about it I used one vulgar word "bitch" which I edited other than that what was Amazons reason for not publishing it? You can't talk about diarrhea? I am so confused and I am not fit to speak with a rep from Amazon bc today ladies the man would get an earful. It's utter nonsense to me!!

I'm not exactly sure what DARKNESS AND DAY is about, but I do know that it includes the theme of incest. There's only one review, and of course, it doesn't help in the least bit. Ugh!

SARAH ANNE'S EXPEDIENT MARRIAGE is a christian romance.

That's it for today, ladies. TTYL!

Yes I forgot about that. I didn't care for the H initially either. I think most of my prejudice was due to his behavior when they were younger. He sounded like he was an arrogant a$$. I had to keep reminding myself he was only a teenager at the time. LOL. He gets better as you get to know him now.

Yeah I got two KS books too...the Countess one and another CR.

Right now I'm reading The Overlord's Bride. I paid FOUR dollars for it!! You're a bad influence, EB! LOL

Sandy Milan, on the other hand, gave it 4 stars, and I usually check out her reviews. So, you can check it out and decide for yourselves.

COME HOME TO ME is a contemporary romance that popped up during my HR search. Oops I also forgot to mention that it's a time travel, so THAT's why it popped up. The H travels back in time. LOL

It's going to be a good one but I have just had trouble focusing the last couple days. I also got another book coming from them called order up. I looked through the books on KS yesterday and picked a few they had a few good ones all CR. One was a suspense and another was one with a twin who lost her sister when they had a car accident and her parents liked the dead twin better than her. She's married so the story takes off from there. Anyhow I see Kate liked my review for Fire Down Below but you never said RF. Good or bad let me know just read my review on here not Amazon. Oh no, it was a good review. I did read it. Sorry! The book sounds a big mess...just like an episode of SOUTH PARK, with outrageous humor and a whole lot of non-PC content. LOL

Yes, we both selected BACK TO THE HEART. I think the H is gonna be a movie star or something. I really liked the fact that he felt connected to her from the very start.

I'll have to check out the books on KS. I haven't been on there in a while, except to get my free books. I hope you're mind will get settled now that Ken's surgery is over and done with.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Ok first off I didn't realize until I was reading another review that the pharmacist name was Johnson Fitzwell. Lol When they refer to him in the book they only use first name or his last name never together that I can recall. He is adorable, clueless but adorable it is her friend Duke that is a mess. I honestly hate south park. Only watched it once and that was enough but I think it's bc there is no romance. I'm such a one note wonder. Anyhow the book lead you to believe at the end that Duke was going to be a love interest and my stomach turned. He had his moments but was not even a possibility in my mind. It was funny in spots she tries to be sexy with Johnson on Twitter and it comes out all wrong. I had to give 4 stars bc I will probably go back to read again but I'd skim to my fav parts. The next book will have to impress me with reviews if Duke turns out to be competition I won't read. Lol I'm so stubborn but he was gross and annoying

I have my account set to automatically update, so whenever they update books for whatever reason, the system just goes ahead and does it. It's weird because all of a sudden I'll just see books pop up on my carousel and I'll be like "what the heck?" I finally figured out that when Amazon updates a book it gets redelivered to my Kindle. Good morning, ladies. Here's today's list!

http://www.amazon.com/Moonlight-Rebel...

http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Oath-Jann...

http://www.amazon.com/Endless-Love-Ja...

http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Highland-...

http://www.amazon.com/Texas-Yankee-Ho...

http://www.amazon.com/Toot-Sweet-Girl...

http://www.amazon.com/Toot-Sweet-Mams...

http://www.amazon.com/Toot-Sweet-Love...

I'm not sure if ENDLESS LOVE is a romance. The h is a 40 year old modern day woman, who is separated from her husband. She moves to the country to some old manor that is haunted. The ghost is that of a man who had a doomed love affair with the daughter of the house in the past. The story apparently flashes back and forth between the present day and the past. Not sure what happens, if anything, between the h and the ghost. The only review give s fairly decent explanation of the book.

I read MAGIC OF HIGHLAND DRAGONS and rated it 4 stars; although now I'm thinking maybe I should have given it 3 1/2 stars. I'm not sure, I'd have to go back and really think about the book. All I remember is being really annoyed by the whole sex thing. The H was constantly "hard" around the h. I liked the way she held him off for a while, but...

When you click on reviews, mine is on the first page. I liked it, but the h got on my nerves some. There is also some controversy about whether or not the H raped the h when they consummated their relationship. I didn't see it as rape. I explained my position in my review. The consummation scene was brutal and I hated the way the h behaved afterwards. I thought she let the H off the hook and that aggravated me. Anyway, you'll see it all in my review. I still say it's a good book!

TEXAS YANKEE HOMECOMING continues in a second book, but I don't think this first one ends in a cliffhanger. The next book is entitled TEXAS YANKEE HONEYMOON. I think there is a resolution to the romance in book one and then book two just continues with the story of their life after marriage. It's an assumption; I have not read any of the reviews!

The three TOOT SWEET titles is an ongoing serial. Actually I think TOOT SWEET GIRLIE and TOOT SWEET MAM'SELLE are two parts of the same story and TOOT SWEET is a spin off. I'm not sure because so far there are no reviews. Also, FYI, these are from a new author. She only has these three and another book listed. No reviews on any of them.

That's is for today, ladies. TTYL!

Ya, usually the author will release an updated version with corrections. That's usually what it is. Although there was one time when I went to reread a book and noticed that the ending was completely different!!!! Instead of being a complete novella, it now ended on a cliffhanger of sorts. It was most aggravating! But as I told Brian, I choose to remember the original ending so had no interest in checking out the sequel. LOL

That highland title that's on sale is the first in the same series as the Highland Romance we recently got from KS. Maybe that's why it seems familiar.

Ya I remember the whole insistence on a duke for the H's sister was a bit offputting. Hopefully the author can overcome it in the story.

I'm feeling like crap. So much so that I don't even feel up to reading! I started getting a weird buzzing/humming sound in my left ear on Thursday night. I'm not sure what's up; possible ear infection, fluid in the ear, or God knows what. I'm hoping it's not anything more serious than that. I don't know if my not feeling well has anything to do with it. When it first started, other than the buzzing, I felt fine, so it's either not related or its getting worse. I may have to suck it up and go see my doc.

He had a party at school today. They have this whole routine they do. I spent the morning with him at school. It was way fun! We're having the family over tomorrow; aunts, cousins, and grandparents. His actual party with friends isn't until next weekend at Tumble Fun...it's a gymnastics place for kids.

Nah it's not that that's making me not feel well. I'm not sure, I think I might be trying to come down with some kind of virus. If not that, then it may be my thyroid disease. I've been super tired lately...today so much so that I felt ill and had to lie down. I am so thrilled and they were so kind with their compliments about my review they said it was mine hands down. What a nice way to finish off my day. I am glad you had a great time. I miss the fun little kid parties. :( I spoke with the writer of Captain and Countess when we got the books and she posted a picture of it on FB and she is so happy I just can't be mean and write what I really want to. I would rather not write anything than to tear her hopes down. Others may not feel the way I did about her book but I hate a book where the H is determined to get one woman when he is flirting continuously throughout. The Captain was kissing her to the point he was unbuttoning her dress and all that implies but still he continues his search. They butt uglies and he says you'll let me know if you become pregnant but still they separate. OOOH it is so aggravating. Why do authors think that readers want to read a book where so much time is spent with the H/h apart from one another?

Oh wait a minute, they were separated too? Ugh! The book sounds awful! But as you say, not everyone feels the same way we do. We are kinda sensitive about the sex issue...I'm willing to accept that. I don't mind sex without commitment, but there has to be, at the very least, an emotional connection between the two; an expectation of a commitment. So what, the H needed a respectable woman so he could get his sister matched with a duke, is that it? And who did she end up marrying? I hope it was a farmer, one whom she dearly loved. ROTFL

LOL I can admit I am sensitive and like you said that connection is important. The problem is there was that connection between them but both were stubborn and kept pushing away only to come back practically rip each others clothes off. Then she gave him an open invitation and he accepted thinking it wasn't all on his shoulders bc of the invitation. I don't even know who the sister wound up with bc at the point where his sister breaks into tears bc she knows the H/h are in love but it is bc of her future that keeps them separated and when the h announces her engagement she runs off crying I quit. It was the final straw that told me I wasn't going to be able to give a good review so there you have. The H/h just kept this wall between them that I could not take any longer. Anyway I am loooving this book by Keira Montclair if you get a chance and want to read it when I'm done I'll lend it to you. I should be done by tonight I think, tomorrow at the latest. It is a contemporary but it somehow connects to the Grant clan. The H is a policeman and the h is a RN and she is going through a divorce. He suffers from PTSD and hasn't been able to have a real relationship. It is different from her other books but someone is out to kill the h. She comes from money and her aunt mysteriously dies in a boating accident. Okay well I'm going back to my book the power has just went out in it due to a storm and Ryan has come to Cait's house with candles (sound familiar RF?).lol
