Hey ladies I just thought I'd share a great way to make money online just by doing your regular online shopping. The website is http://www.shopathome.com/ You have to create an account on this site in order to reap the rewards, but membership is free. Furthermore, you don't have to provide any info such as address, etc., until you've actually earned some cash.
I created this account back in 2011, and since then I've received over $500 in cash back! Currently, I have a check in the amount of $32.46, which will be sent to me at the end of December. Guess what I plan on doing with that money--yes! I'm going to treat myself to a Amazon GC!! Yay
Anyhow, anyone familiar with Ebates? That's how Shoptathome works...or similarly. Unfortunately, Shopathome is not affiliated with Amazon, which is where I do most of my online shopping, but they are associated with many many others. Basically they give you a percentage of the total amount you spend at website with which they are affiliated. Stores such as Target, Walmart, Kohls, and Crocs are among the thousands included. All you have to do is go to the Shopathome website and then navigate from there to the store's website where you plan on doing your shopping. I use is regularly when I shop at Crocs.com; Target.com, and Kohls.com, which are three of the stores that I shop online fairly regularly. I also use it when I shop at QVC and HSN (yes, I'm a Q shopper and have been for umpteen years. LOL)
When I first joined, I was a bit skeptical, so I created an account with email and password, but did not provide any other information. When I got the notice that i had cash available, I quickly updated my account to include my address so I'd be able to receive my check! LOL I've been a member since 2011. My first check was in the amount of $25.37. Since then I've received a number of checks. I don't have to do any extra shopping online to get money, all I have to do is take that one extra step...go to shopathome then to my store's website, instead of going directly to the store's website. I actually sometimes will shop online instead of going into the store, because I have the incentive of making a little extra cash. LOL
Anyhow, just thought I'd share. TTYL

Hope you feel better too, Noreen. So we're down with 11:30 on Sunday. I just gotta make sure the time change works for EB and Kate, but I'm sure it wont be a problem. I'm going to go ahead and set up the event now. TTYL Enjoy you're company!

Does anyone know how we actually begin a discussion on our event? Stupid question? Maybe, but I honestly don't see where I'm supposed to post the first comment. LOL

EB I saw the review and checked out the comment on Amazon. Of course the stupid comment was left on Amazon, that's seems to be where all the idiots are. LOL I LOVED the way you responded. What a dolt! Who asked her to read the flipping comments, or the review for that matter!?

I looked into this lady and she has read the same books as I have by MD so we have similar taste but all of her reviews were 5 stars on everything I seen. Apparently she only gets things with a 5 star rating. LMAO Such a silly comment to begin with. I had to be a smart ass with her it pisses people off faster than just simply getting mad. I'm waiting to see if she responds or the other girl I was talking to.

I would comment and then by the time I got back there was 3-4 more messages. I wish it would pop up on FB. My computer was going slow and it just seemed to have missed the conversation. I also checked my review for FOG and it had 3 stars which I voted 2 and 1/2 and gave it the other half because there is no 1/2 marking.

Oh I could've sworn I saw four stars on the GR review you wrote for FOG. Sorry, my bad. What I did was constantly go to the top of the discussion page and hit the newest or the date icons. That refreshes the page. I didn't wait for the emails, because that just takes too long. I too wish it would pop up, but if you keep hitting one or the other of those buttons it will refresh the page and add the new comments. I thought your response to that idiot was a hoot! LOL

When I made my comment I only saw that there was one customer following the comments. I assumed it was the lady with whom you were conversing, and now me. People like that are usually too cowardly to follow the comments and get your response. They just like to shoot off at the mouth and then run and hide. LOL

So it was pretty cool that we both felt the same way about so much of the book. I gave it 3 stars because I did love her H. What's really funny is that although we agree on so much of the book, I liked it so much more than you did. For me it's a 3 1/2 to 4 star read. I recognized all the issues with the story, but I liked it anyway. It's funny how you can overlook the same issues in one book while in another they drive you crazy! I just finished A Christmas Dance. It was another cute novella. Now I have to decide what to read next. Sigh

I can't give it 4 stars when I wasn't upset to skip part of it. Oh no trying to find a new read is always a tough choice. I hear you. That can be so annoying! Is that your laptop or desktop? And has it not been working right since that whole book fiasco?
Speaking of book fiasco, Nat was supposed to get back to me about a book she needed read and reviewed by tomorrow. Remember the paranormal one? Well I told her I couldn't have it done by Monday, but if she pushed the deadline back to Wednesday that would work for me. It's not that I absolutely could NOT have it done by tomorrow, but I didn't want to work under that much pressure. Anyhow, she was supposed to email the author and get back to me. That was Thursday and so far nothing!
BTW I figured an even better way to refresh the page, just click on the "g" icon at the top of the page. You know the one that usually has the numbers to notify you about new comments? That one! I've been using it, instead of clicking on the link in the email notification and it's been working great!
Oh, I think I have my next read. It's a really short novella, only 33 pages, but I didn't want to start anything long tonight. It's called The Christmas Waltz. I must have a thing with Christmas lately. The book I just finished was A Christmas Dance, and I might start The Christmas Bargain tomorrow. LOL

I then kicked my kids from the Compaq and it went but still slow. LOL at one point I fired both up to see which would go fastest. Natalie told me that her son was sick and vomiting which was probably the same day you spoke with her. She told me she was going to send a link to my review and that she liked mine. I had to send her the full review back as part of it got cut off when I was copying and pasting. I sent her message earlier today but haven't checked to see if she got back. I don't know what else to say about that. She originally told me that I had to have my review done in a week and how long has it been now? It still isn't published. I've used the g too but I think everyone was scattering when I remembered. Doesn't work very well when your brains not cooperating. I have my tree up and yesterday I made cut outs and peppermint mocha cookies to freeze for my cookie tray. That is my Christmas so far I see your reading about to get in the spirit. I'll have to check mine for any shorts to read. LOL

You've got me beat in the Xmas decoration department. If it wasn't for the kids I probably wouldn't do anything. Just call me Scrooge! LOL. Ya I'm gearing up with my Christmas reading.
BTW I've a few good ones in case you're interested. One is with a Duke who's on his way home for Christmas. He meets the h on the road. Poor thing is in dire straits, so he asks her to go home with him to pretend to be his fiancee in order to avoid his mother's marital machinations, which he's sure she'll be up to. The h doesn't know he's a Duke, but she's so desperate she agrees. It was a cute story. I know how much you LOVE a Duke. Me too!
Yes Natalie's son is still sick. Poor thing. I don't know what's wrong with him. Aly just told me Lori is no longer with the blog. Not sure why.

You're a mess. LOL. Will do. I just gotta remember the name of the book...something about Christmas and a Duke, I think. LOL. Oh no. So Nat is sick now too, huh? Must be some kind of virus.

Good morning, ladies. Here are a few freebies for today. This first one is brand new, with no reviews. Sounds interesting enough, though.

The LASSOED BY THE WHITE COWBOY title is about an biracial couple. I'm not big on the biracial romance...not when the biracial aspect is a focus of the story. I'd be a hypocrite otherwise, considering I'm IN a biracial marriage. LOL I also think this title is a contemporary, so I have no idea WHY it's included in my search, but I could be wrong...it's not happened yet this year, so I'm due. ROTFL I went back and checked and DUH there's mention of a car in the blurb so I guess it really is contemporary. LOL
Not sure if the DRAGON one is a continuing series or a standalone book. I couldn't tell from the blurb or the first couple of reviews.
Be careful of those OUT WEST titles by the author, Charlin. I've read three or four of them and they have all been a disaster! I keep subjecting myself to the torture hoping she'll get better, but she doesn't. IMO her writing is like a juvenile and is some of the worst I've come across in recent times. But I keep getting them when they are free hoping she will get better, because her plots are usually so interesting, and I'm a sucker for mail-order bride stories.
Alas each time I've been doomed to disappointment. And she probably wont change her style because so many people like it just the way it is. Ugh Check out the 2 star review though. She very briefly describes the problems with the book, which quite frankly, has been the problems with all of her books that I've read. Not to mention there have been times when I could describe a secondary character in great detail, but couldn't tell you what the h looks like because we were given no description. No joke!
The last book listed is actually a box set of 10 historical novels that now available for .87 cents!
That's it for today, ladies. It would be nice if someone volunteered to be a guinea pig for the Charlins Mail Order Bride book and let me know what they thing of the writing. And by someone, I'm thinking Noreen because she loves MOB books just as much as I do. ROTFL Sorry, Noreen! TTYL

Hey Noreen. Thanks for the list. The Courtney Milan one was quite a find! I wonder why it didn't come up in my search. I bet it'll be there tomorrow. Weird how that happens sometimes. Anyhow, thanks again. I grabbed two off your list. I'm doing a bit better today, thank God! Hope you are too!

It wasn't even a bad review. I gave it 3 stars and said the story was nicely done but very predictable. CH came back like gangbusters saying I didn't know what I'm talking about. It was very original.
The story. A sheriff is tracking a bank robber suspect. He arrives at the house to find robbers' wife in labor and delivers the baby. Feels sorry for wife. Stays to help her . They fall in love. Robber gets himself conveniently killed. They have Hea. Now if Cheryl doesn't thinks that's predictable she evidently writes more then she reads.
Thanks for the lists Noreen and RF I took a few from both of them. I'll try the Charlins RF. Who knows I may love it. Remember snaggletooth.
I don't think I read the Milan book . It didn't look familiar but her titles all sound the same. I'll know once I get into it. I usually like her books.
Hope everyone is feeling better.

Good luck with Charlins, Kate. I'd be surprised if you do like it. I'm sure the story is great--they usually are. It's the execution that's typically the problem. Sigh
I'm feeling a bit better. Thanks for asking. EB, I've been going crazy today. I've spent most of the day out than in, and considering it's been raining cats and dogs all that, that's not a good thing. Well it never is a good thing, but today it's worse. I'm home for the evening now..finally. I am going to go check out your review.

RF I'm at the 35% point of the Charlins book and so far the writing seems disjointed. How disjointed? Well Florence the h sister who had lost her fiancee 2 years ago has now been described as losing her husband 2 years ago . I hate when a writer can't keep track of her own story. For god's sake buy some post it pads. Leave yourself a note. I wish I had paid for this so I could ask for my money back. I've read the 2 and 3 book in the Emmet Love series by john Locke. I'm not even sure I like them they're so quirky but I must since I just finished my 3rd one. In book three a lady helps Emmet get the shackles off that he has been wearing for 2 years. He turns to her and cries tears of joy. CRIES. I would have put the shackles right back on him. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Big tough cowboy my oss.
kate wrote: "Elizabeth wrote: "Reading Fanatic wrote: "EB I saw the review and checked out the comment on Amazon. The same is true I love Keira Montclair just as I love Moriah Densley but if it doesn't work I'm going to say. In MD's review I even said I hated to say it but there were things that didn't make sense and the girl who commented in my review had a lot of valid points as an author I may be a little frustrated but not at my readers. You have to get a tough skin and take it professionally. Think about it in another way to understand what is being mentioned. I should ask her and see what she says.

Hahahahaha Kate, I wont say I told you so, but I could! LOL Every book she writes is the same...they all have some MAJOR flaw, although the flaw does change from one book to the other. She writes like a blasted juvenile. Ugh
That's go true, EB. Besides as an author, you can't please all of the people all of the time. It's a fact. Some people are gonna love it, while others hate it. That's just a fact of life. Until you can accept that fact, don't publish anymore books!

Yep. Yell, scream, break up the furniture. Shoot something. But don't stand there and cry like a big sissy. Unless of course you are a big sissy . In which case we're cool. Some of my best friends. But you have to leave my romance novel. Now.

I tried to mention things I liked as well as disliked and then when the other reviewer mentioned some of her problems I agreed with her although I mentioned it didn't bother me as much as it did her. This other lady did not even do a review herself so I'm assuming had not read it. Oh and last week also I got a message in my email on Sweet Addiction. If you remember I hated it. There is another reviewer I talked with on her review named Kdawn (I think, I'll check) anyhow some lady named Pat wrote and got smart because in this girls review talked about all the spelling and grammatical errors. Pat was saying it did not matter if their were spelling, and grammatical errors. No it's only a book who wants to be able to understand what their saying. I didn't get far enough and because other things seemed to over shadow her problems. I would tell you what I wrote but I can't remember and Amazon deleted it. LOL I didn't cuss or anything but I did mention that her book was up for nomination for 2014 (new author) and made mention that if I could I would post my review on the sight. I know it was immature but this lady ticked me off. I also told her to pull up her big girl panties and suck it up. LMAO

Like Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella? I remember I got them but can not remember the names. I just wanted to have them on stand by. I'll do some more searching.

Oh yes, I remember those. The titles were: BEFORE THE MIDNIGHT BELLS; AS THE LAST PETAL FALLS; and WITH TRUE LOVE'S KISS. Why? They are all loosely based on fairytales, I think.

Good morning, ladies. Here are a few freebies for today.
http://www.amazon.com/Douglas-Lord-He...
http://www.amazon.com/Mounted-Cowboys...
http://www.amazon.com/Lady-Highlander...
http://www.amazon.com/Other-Cross-Mil...
http://www.amazon.com/Wayward-Man-Pre...
http://www.amazon.com/Scandalous-Sist...
http://www.amazon.com/Ravens-Tale-Pre...
http://www.amazon.com/2014-Holiday-Er...
http://www.amazon.com/Trailriders-For...
http://www.amazon.com/Loves-Ransom-Gw...
http://www.amazon.com/They-Called-Him...
http://www.amazon.com/Shadows-Blaisde...
The MOUNTED BY THE COWBOY title is listed purely for your aesthetic pleasure. ROTFL I thought it was kinda funny and suggested my hubby add it to his TBR list. LOL There's no way someone could download that book and then complain that they "didn't know what it was about."
MY LADY HIGHLANDER is a time-travel romance. The h is from the past, but now lives in the present. She left the past to escape an abhorrent betrothal. She is then tossed back in the past with a present-day man.
THE OTHER CROSS is not a HR. But it popped up in my search and it's free so I decided to include it. It sounds like a fictional account of the life of one of the thieves who was crucified with Jesus. Kate, you especially, I know like to read a variety of different books, so this one may or may not appeal to you...you too EB and Noreen.
THE HOLIDAY EROTIC BUYING GUIDE has been included in order to ensure that you make the most appropriate purchases for the holiday season. No sense in buying erotic books all willy nilly and wasting your money! ROTFL
I'm a little leery of the LOVE'S RANSOM title. The h offers the H(?) her life in exchange for her brothers. Captivated by her beauty and courage he stay's her brother's execution but at the cost of her freedom, so he orders the h to....marry his son??!! WTH? I dunno where this one is going. There are no reviews, unfortunately. I wont be reading this one until someone ponys up a good review that tells me what the book is about.
The last three or four books are all new with no reviews. BTW anyone wanna read A THREESOME WITH MY GORGEOUS GIRLFRIEND AND HER HOT ROOMMATE? It's available for free right now! LOL
Anyhow ladies, that's it for today. FYI, that Milan freebie you listed yesterday popped up in a search I did last night, Noreen, so it must have had the price reduced after I did my search yesterday morning. That's interesting. Seems Amazon lowers and increase prices all throughout the day. FYI, it's still free today, but I figured everyone probably grabbed it yesterday when Noreen gave us the link. I'm talking about THE DUCHESS WAR, BTW. TTYL

Thanks for the list, RF. I cracked up at the Mounted by a Cowboy. My first thought was wondering about your tastes in books. hahahaha
I skipped the erotica buying guide, but it was kind of you to think of us. lol
Have been having problems with my internet and after an hour of fighting I finally managed to get Amazon to admit I had a wish list. grrrr So, I grabbed the two freebies and now have no time for anything else. Bah Humbug!
This one wasn't on your list my other wish list freebie that popped up was the "My Lady The Highlander".

Hahahha Thanks for the freebie. I actually have two other of the books in that series, so this was a nice find. TTYL

This week has been so crazy so far. I got t the freebie list finally. I had to laugh at the mounted cowboy because it reminded me of the country song "Save a horse ride a cowboy." What...what? ROTFLMAO I mean for real. WTF?! The Christmas how to...LMAO! They'll be more than Santa coming...pun intended. LMAO! I did grab the cowboy one Noreen posted because I was in the mood for a different read. I don't know why that one so don't ask and I have other books in front of that one. I got my book last night RF from Aly. I put in her email and it came right to my Kindle. I think Aly must be the only one who can do that because I asked Natalie and she seemed stray away so I thought that maybe only Aly can. IDK. I have had no time to read the last 2 days.

I hate the book I'm reading for Naughty Girls. I'm only 13% in and it's boring me to death! I left a message on the IM chat. There's no way I'm gonna finish it. To make it worse it's written in the first person, and switches from the h to the H's POV every one or two chapters. My head hurts trying to figure out who the hell the "I" is referring to now! And at 13% in were getting hosiery of how the H meet his WIFE!!!! Do I really need to hear about the late wife? He's still grief stricken over her death. He just met the h, told her his wife died, then starts thinking about how THEY met, so here we go tripping down memory lane. The truth is I only got to 13% because I was skimming, otherwise I probably wouldn't have gotten that far.

Good morning, ladies. Sorry I haven't posted our list as yet, but I've been busy reading that book I had for review. I've finally decided to call it quits at 42% in, because I couldn't take it any longer. The constant switching from one person to the other every chapter or so, was just too confusing. Every time I started a new chapter I'd have to read a few sentences in before I figured out who the "I" was referring to now. Then there were also a couple of instances where the story is written in the third person, where the author wanted to give the reader insight into a secondary character's thinking. I don't know why the author didn't just write the blasted book in the third person and have done with it. Anyway, I finally gave up, so now I'm gonna get to the day's business and check for freebies.

OK ladies, here's the list. This first one is the prequel to another freebie we had a few days ago...Degrees of Hope.

http://smile.amazon.com/Loves-Guardia...

http://smile.amazon.com/Two-Blue-Nove...
http://smile.amazon.com/Dream-Two-Con...
http://smile.amazon.com/Almas-Mail-Or...
The EARL title only has two reviews; one 5 star and one 1 star. Unfortunately, neither of them is very helpful, especially the 5 star review.
HOPE FOR TOMORROW is a prequel to another freebie we had a few days ago. That book was the story of the h's parents (the h in this book, that is). Degrees of Hope.
BTW Kate, what was your final word on FAITH OUT WEST? I'm curious to see if it got any better, although I'd be surprised if it did.
SARAH CALHOUN is about a h who becomes a doctor. The story is set over a few years from late 1800's to 1904. The relationship between the h and H is long standing.
The BLUE book is a set of two stories. We got BLUE LIKE ELVIS as a freebie several days ago. This set includes that story and another one.
DREAM FOR TWO is a contemporary romance. Not sure why it popped up, but there you have it!
Has anyone actually read any of Whitsby's books as yet? We've gotten a lot of her stuff for free lately, and I don't even know if I'm gonna like her books. I'm a sucker for mail-order bride stories, of course, but as we've seen with the author Charlins' it is possible to screw them up royally. LOL
OK, that's it for today. I had to redo my list because half-way through the first time I accidentally hit the back button. Gotta love it when I'm a dumb ass. ROTFL TTYL

So are they going to take the book back and give you another?
I started Douglas from yesterdays list. I'm only on page 32 and I'm having my doubts. The H has asked the h to show him how to manage an estate. He is surprised when he finds himself desiring the h because he doesn't normally desire a specific woman and I'm quoting here "it has become the less complicated option to spend into his hand rather than into the body of a willing female stranger" Seriously. He hasn't had sex in years. The h is a single mother and the H is assuming it was rape. He is friends with her family so maybe. She is totally gun shy around men.
Can this couple be saved? Can a man who doesn't care about sex and a woman who is afraid of sex have a relationship. Or is that the perfect relationship for them? Not sure I want to read 400 pages to find out.
Speaking of DNF. The Charlin was a no go. The H had been forced into a previous marriage by his mother. The h was being forced into a marriage by her family. Who are these parents? I can't even get my kids to take out the garbage.
Anyway the characters didn't connect and I gave up halfway through.
Thanks again for the list.

I did like one of her newer books but I tried The Heir and one of her other ones(Worth or something odd like that) and her phrasing was funny but the story was hard to get into IMO. I knew Charlins book would suck. All the ones I've read have been really bad. She has a great imagination. Unfortunately, she cannot write.
I'm not surprised at the DOUGLAS book. There was one review that made the story seem pretty questionable. Or was it two reviews? I can't really remember, but I do remember at least one 1 or 2 star review.

Ya, I got it too EB, despite the negative reviews. I figured it was worth it to check it out for myself.

Douglas may turn itself around. I've never read a book that started out with two sexually dysfunctional people. The sex scene should be interesting. Assuming there is one. But you know me. They can be blind crippled deaf and dumb with wall to wall scars I'm not that fussy. As long as they're not crying about it. But I don't know if I'm ready for a hero that can't get it up-- or worse can but is to lazy to take himself over to a woman.
I haven't read the reviews. I'll do that now maybe it will encourage me. Or not. I have read something by Grace Burrows before which I didn't care for but I don't remember the name off the top of my head. I thought I'd give her another try. The price was right.

Thanks for the list, RF. I noticed that book 3 of the Memphis Cycle was also free. ;)

11:30 Sunday morning is fine with me.
So sorry you aren't feeling any better. I think I'm with EB, woke up with a stuffy nose, headache and sinus headache. The change in weather really does a number on us. We had a beautiful day and then snow the next also.
lol @ The Kindle Scout misunderstanding. I wasn't kidding when I said we would have to pimp them in order to get them published. hahaha We need to get other people to nominate them so that they will get selected. ;)
Company today and shopping so I grabbed my free books and have to get my butt in gear.
This one popped up free from my wish list.
