OMG, Noreen! The book is awesome. She's turned that family around. They were literally like a group of pigs when she first arrived. The poor H was just so angry and bitter at the treatment he suffered at the hands of his whorish, first wife. Ugh. I would definitely recommend it.

Don't let me dissuade you from the DUKE titles, EB. I'm just giving my impressions. You may have another take on them. I never read the St. Ives one, only the other. While they're free it might be worth it for you to at least take a look at them. What can it hurt? If they suck you don't have to read them. LOL. I didn't like DTK remember? And you loved it!

I appreciate the insight. I hate when an author brings in a character that serves no purpose. I read this P&P variation and the book was good but the author wrote that when Darcy and Elizabeth agree to be married that he goes to town to get rid of his mistress. He treated her like rather roughly which Darcy would never do IMO and when it was all said and done there was no real purpose for it. It was as you described page filler but pointless.

Highland Barbarian promised much, but delivered very little. You think you're getting a fierce, warrior heroine, but what you actually get is a typical female who, honestly, isn't even as strong as many other heroines that I've encountered. What I really loved...that's sarcasm...is how easily the H disarmed the h each time she came at him with a weapon. It was embarrassing especially as we're told she had such extensive training to be a warrior. Ugh! I was ok with him getting the better if her, but it needed have been so easily. Every time I expected to see her display her untalented, I was disappointed. The story isn't bad. The real problem is that the author failed to deliver.

Unfortunately HH Wherlock and Vaughn series isn't going too well. If you've never read Noreen you may like because they're a family with special gifts. Anything from psychic abilities to healing and the last 2 in the series haven't been very good. One lady described that it didn't seem as though HH had written them. I want to read Modrid's story. He is, of course, a duke and he has the power to feel what others are feeling. His own mother left him when he started exhibiting his gift and he lives in seclusion because he can only be around limited people. The sad part is he's described as drop dead gorgeous and can't bare too many people's touch. Can you imagine? When that man finds his significant other it's going to be explosive so hopefully HH will climb out of her slumps and put out the story I have been holding out for. Others think because he is the family head his story will be last and there are others in the family that are probably going to come first.

I grabbed this several months ago. Not my usual type of book but for some reason it caught my attention and I grabbed it. First book in a series and I see complaints that it isn't a "whole" book. I just threw the rest in my wish list and figured I'd wait and see if any pop up free. ;)

It should be on their website. naughtygirlsofromance.com Then you have to click on the blog link, I think. On that page, to the right, there is a link for reviews. I believe that is where all their reviews are listed. That's rude though, not to contact you, and especially rude if they didn't post your review. You're right, you spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to download the stupid book, then you read it, and reviewed it, and all for what? I don't see why they wouldn't post your review.

I see that Natalie posted a IM a few days ago with another book that's up for grabs. I never responded, which I guess is my bad, but I haven't wanted to read anything else contemporary right now. Aly did send me the box set of her books, and they sound really good. It got all good reviews on Amazon. I plan to read that next when I'm in the mood for a contemporary--or I'll put myself in the mood. It's the least I can do when she so kindly sent them to me. The set actually reminds me a little bit of your beloved SOG. It's a continuing contemporary romance that covers three books. The H is a alpha business man. I don't think it's erotic the way SOG was, but it has some hot sex, so I'm told. LOL

RF~ Natalie just got back with me and said what email did you send it to. It's been two weeks and I have heard nothing and now she comes at me with what email? I told her which one and she says can you resend it? I had to do it on my home PC and guess what with all the problems I've been having it is no longer showing in my saves. I am ready to scream. I think Natalie lost it because why else wouldn't she say anything before now? I told her everything with this has been a fight on my end. My computers have acted up. I tried to get on the storycartel sight and it won't allow me to sign in and I emailed them a week ago and they said it would take 48 hrs to get back.

So here's what I did. I composed an email placing my review in the email and sent it to her. I also copied and posted it on Amazon and here. She could tell I was upset and come to find out when she sent me the email address she left out part of it. When she went back through our discussion she noticed. This chic is the most unorganized woman I have ever met. She's nice but I feel like I'm an after thought to this chic.

Disorganized is an understatement. Our reviews were due a while back, and once she didn't receive yours she should have contacted you. For you to have to contact her means that she's got no idea of what's up or down, whether she's going or coming! I know how much trouble you've had with this entire experience, and although I know you enjoyed your book, it wasn't such an earth shattering experience that it was worth it. You were able to retrieve a copy of your review, I take it?

So she didn't get your original email with the review? Is that it? Didn't you just attach it to the same email she had sent you with the book? If that's the case then she should have definitely received it the first time around.

I'm reading Norwyck's Lady by Margot Maguire. I'm a little leery of where this is going right now. The h washed up on shore of the H's keep and he took her home. He doesn't trust women because of his wife's treachery. It was unbelievable...she delivered his older brother to their enemy and ultimately to his death, and bore a bastard child for said enemy. At least the "B" had the decency to die in childbirth.

Anyhow, it's day one and the H has already been locking lips with the h...even while he thinks she's a lying, conniving, witch, like all women. She responds, even though she knows that he doesn't trust her; he's been nothing but antagonistic towards her, even since she regained consciousness and has even accused her of lying, because she says she cannot remember who she is. I'm not liking that at all. Thankfully she pulled back telling him she doesn't even know if she has a husband and he pretty much told her that she can't cuckold a husband that she doesn't remember. Really?! Then he tells her he wants her in his bed and she should come to him when she knows what she wants. I already know that they become lovers because, as usual, I peeked at the ending. I don't have a problem with that. But, if she sleeps with him while he's still acting the ass, I'm gonna toss my Kindle in the trash!!!!

I actually got my book from Natalie too. However, when it came time to submit, I sent it to Aly. Lori was supposed to get back to me about a paranormal romance last week, but then she had computer problems. I think she's up and running now, but so far she's said nothing to me. Don't you think she should've at least contacted me to say something...anything? At first she was supposed to contact the author. When I didn't hear anything back after a couple of days, I contacted her again, and that is when she told me about her computer problems. However, someone was supposedly checking her mail for her, and so far she'd not heard anything from the author. That was the last I heard about it. I figured that maybe the author never got back to her, but if that is the case, Lori should have said something to me. At least that's my opinion. I don't really care, either way, but it all shows a distinct lack of communication and organization--the latter is a huge pet peeve of mine!

I agree with you RF. I don't know if you've noticed but they have these contest going on on their webpage because some new books are being released. Under Fire or something like that it started when I sent you that link to try to win that kindle fire or whatever it was. They continuously have been sending me new posts and adding photos to their page. I mean 4-5 every couple hours. So they have been very busy. But when you are relying on people to freely do these reviews for your blog you should make them feel like they are a priority. Instead I feel like the dirty little secret in the back. So my answer would be yes she should have contacted you. I just think Nat has no organization skills.

OK ladies, here's something you may not know about me...I am cheap as dirt. There's nothing I like better than getting a deal. When I find a book that's on my wish list has become available for free, well let's just say it's better than sex...well almost, but I tell my husband that it is. ROTFL Look what I just found for free...it was on my list. It was only .99 cents, yet I don't care. A deal is a deal! If I remember correctly this is a medieval romance. The h has been locked away and now is being taken to meet and marry her betrothed. Unknown to her, her companion, who has been sent to accompany her on the trip is her betrothed!

To be honest I was frightened by a dwarf at a young age. Ok . Maybe more embarrassed then frightened. I was working during the summer in a candy store on 42nd st and 5th ave in NYC. I went out on my lunch break and a dwarf started following me trying to pick me up. I was only 17 and he followed me for blocks. I wasn't afraid . I'm 5'6" and the little jerk only came up to my elbow but of course people were laughing and cat calling so I was mortified. If he had been normal height I would have just told him to get lost but when your 17 the worst thing is to be the butt of a joke. Not that I think he was joking. Ten years later I would have just said F off. True story.

But I did get the turtle one. I love turtles. Don't have any now because they sometimes carry exotic diseases and I have little ones in the house quite often.

So glad you liked Izzy. I did too. I think the cheesy cover turns people off. Can't wait to read your review.

My neighbor across the street was coming home around 12am and got jumped. Mind you me and my family slept through the whole thing. Good news is he bloodied the guy up pretty good before the man gave up and took off. LMAO!

Ya I think if you download it and then sign into your Amazon account when it prompts you, everything will be restored. The book you downloaded from Naughty Girls will be in your computer's download file and should show up in the kindle app also.

I'm hating this book!!!! I am so disappointed. This author has never let me down before, and I've read several of her books. Unfortunately, the book hit on my number one pet peeve...the h had sex with the H knowing that he distrusts her. I don't give a flying fig how sexy he is, THAT is a big turn off. How the hell can you sleep with someone who has no respect for you?

But it gets worse, yes I said WORSE!!! They've just had sex, she was a virgin. She's thinking surely he must trust her now. They couldn't have shared what they did and he still distrust her. Alas the stupid fool!! He says to her, "you might have mentioned your virgin state" or something to that effect. Now remember she has amnesia so she wouldn't have known she was a virgin! Of course she's hurt by what he says, but right after that she lets him screw her again. WTF???!!!! I'm am so MAD I could spit bullets. This h is a spineless twit and I even hate the H. No wonder his wife betrayed him. He's an ass!!!

She's also thinking she's in love with him. WHY? He's been nothing but a jerk to her the entire time so far. Always making caustic comments that make it obvious that he doesn't trust her. I can't read this any longer. I absolutely HATE it. I'm flipping through the rest of the pages now, then I'll write my review. I already know how it ends and he does no groveling. I wish he'd take a long walk off a short cliff and take her with him...yes I said cliff, not plank. Death by water would be too easy for these two jackasses.

I cannot believe Ms. Maguire did this to me. I could cry! Oh BTW the day after they screw (sorry for the crude language, but I refuse to say, made love. I'd like to use worse, but I'll refrain) she gets her memory back. How convenient. She remembers she is the daughter of his worst enemy...the same ones who corrupted his wife. Predictable. Anyhow, if she goes home her father will force her to wed a cruel man, so now she's decided to hide her identity and remain at Norwyck as his whore. Nice plan, don't u think? What happens to when he tires of her? Has the idiot thought of that? I'm sorry for ranting, but I can help myself. I hate it, hate it, hate it. The only good thing is that now she really is lying to the H and he deserves it.

RF~ I understand I read desire unknown and it had so many things that I hated and it was similar to your reaction. That is why when you described those books earlier and said they weren't appropriate for the time I couldn't do it. I posted my review it was so present day thinking. The h says she's in love with the H but she is promised to someone else and doesn't want to hurt her father by telling him. She then sneaks out into the night to his cottage and he is waiting for her. Mind you that he couldn't attend her coming out ball because he's her father's estate manager. He pulls her in and after a little foreplay he asks her if she's sure. Now he has made it clear that they can't marry and so after the deed is done she jokes saying that her intended would be shocked to know what they did. I couldn't believe the h would have been so flippant about a man that could potentially make her life a living hell. Then there was the H he confesses at the end **********SPOILER***********
That he didn't want to offer for her because he had nothing to offer. Oh but taking her virginity and leaving her used was a much more noble idea. I mean if he loved her he would have put her reputation above his own lustful intentions and that is all that was achieved IMO. There's more if you want to check out my review. Thank god it was free.

OMG! I can't believe authors put out this trash and think it's good ROMANCE, but so many readers agree with them. It's disgusting! I'm through with my book. I can't take anymore. I flipped through until I got to the end, but it never gets any better. Basically she becomes his official whore.

She gets caught by her father's men and the H decides to go after her, because he's finally decided that he cares for her...this is 86% into the story. Too little, too late. He gets the stupid heifer back and they get their HEA, but I honestly didn't care. I thought the H lacked honour. He was so set on sleeping with a woman he distrusted, because he wants her. Even though he knew she was a lady. Oh after he made that comment that she could've told him she was a virgin, she swears to him that she is being honest and he tells her, that they're differences don't matter, it doesn't affect--THIS, meaning the sex between them. In other words "it doesn't matter that I think you are a liar it has nothing to do with us sleeping together." He then hugs her, tells her he wants her , and takes her back to bed. And the idiot lets him!! I don't think I've ever been so disgusted.

I'll check your review on that book tomorrow. I can't take anymore stupidity tonight.

Kate, I wouldn't have known what to do with that dwarf either. So easily embarrassed at that age. Of course I was only 5' then so maybe I wouldn't have noticed that he was a dwarf. lol I lost an inch, now I'm 4' 11" and my girlfriend calls me Elfling. lol

Good morning, ladies. Sorry I didn't post a freebie list this morning, but I had to take my son on a school field trip, so we had to get out of the house pretty early. I used the early morning hours to write my review for that piece of crap I read last night, and now it's done and posted. I've washed my hands of the whole disaster and am ready to move one. LOL
