Mareena F | 1 comments Hi everyone! I actually didn´t read the book just a couple of pages, it was in a recommended book list like 2-3 years ago (2016-2017) and I think the book is not much older than that. I think the author is male.

The book begins with a man waking up in his house, thinking is going to be just another ordinary day but then he realises that the TV and radio are not working, no signal and same with phones. He gets into his car and drives to his job in Berlin and he finds out that there is no one on the streets, in the houses, restaurants, etc. Everybody else seems to have vanished but him.

I've been trying to find this book but always unsuccessfully. Any clue? Thanks :)

Mai | 1280 comments Hi! It's not set in Berlin but I found a novel searching online that fits the rest of the description. It takes place in Vienna, Austria. The author is Thomas Glavinic and the book is called " Die Arbeit der Nacht" (translated as Night Work).
You can read the beginning of the novel here: https://books.google.com/books?id=UV6...

Do you think this could be it or are you sure that it takes place in Berlin?

Blue | 825 comments I was just going to suggest Night Work, Mai beat me too it =)

Berlin and Vienna are somewhat similar in architecture, and both would be German speaking.
