No place for a title translation?

If a book's title is not in English and there is not an English edition, is there no place to put an English translation of the title?

Sometimes there is a book from a known series which has an accepted or official English title but that specific book does not have an English edition yet. I've noticed that in such cases people put the series's name in English but in the case that said book is not part of a series, what could be done?

If a book hasn't been published in English, it doesn't need an English title.

Once it has been published in English it will automatically get an English title when it is added to the database.

I understand your point. However, from the standpoint of someone searching for book titles that don't yet have an English edition, it would be useful to have an English translation (so that the title would appear in the search).

Often times, people know what the English title of a book would be based on other books that have already been translated or other types of media that have been released already (movies, TV shows, etc).

Having an English translation would help English speakers in finding the non-English books that they would like to read but have not been translated yet.

That is only true if the field where it was entered was indexed for search. Only the title, author, and ISBN/ASIN fields are so indexed, and none would be an appropriate place for the translated title.

But who would translate the title? And what could make sure that this translation will later on match the "official" title? I know many translations whose translated title doesn't really have anything to do with the original's title.

There are a few fairly known books, translated in many languages, but for some reason not yet in the english-speaking world (this one spirings to mind: Le avventure di Cipollino).

Where should the English title go? And what should the title be? It doesn't make sense. I agree with Helmut and Moloch.

This is a reader driven site. Why on earth would a general reader need to know the English translation of a book not yet in English? Some read other languages. They will be able to read the title clearly in the other languages. I vote NO.
