Gavin looked at her skeptically, but he nodded nonetheless.

"Your music was good, you know. I wish I could write something nice like that. I'm stuck writing everything to the same idea, same skeleton," he said. "You're lucky."
"You get to do what you honestly want to do. That counts for a lot more than you realize," Gavin said sagely, looking Tyler in the eye.
"I suppose it has to be something a person realizes once it's taken away from them," he said with a shrug.
"I'm sorry for your loss," Gavin said, looking down. "I know how it feels." He smiled wryly. "It's a wound that doesn't go away."

((Do you want Lucas actually dead or not?))
((Kay. He'll be actually dead then.))
Gavin nodded slowly, looking at the ground. His hands trembled slightly. "I can."
Gavin nodded slowly, looking at the ground. His hands trembled slightly. "I can."
((How long ago did Lucas die?))
((Kay.))
"He was a good spy," Gavin said. "We worked together sometimes. I wasn't with him when he died though. I'm sorry."
"He was a good spy," Gavin said. "We worked together sometimes. I wasn't with him when he died though. I'm sorry."

"I watched my sister tortured and murdered by the Police in the Streets," he commiserated. "I know how it feels."
"Yeah, me too," Gavin agreed, sighing heavily. He ran a hand through his hair, revealing his usually covered scar that ran across his cheek and dangerously close to his eye.

"Scar. Got in a scuffle with some Police. Your brother thought the story was hysterical. No matter how much I protested, he always told that story," Gavin said, staring at the ground. "I lied earlier. I was there when he died, but there was nothing I could do for him, and I regret that every day."

"He was one of my closest friends. He talked about you, a lot. We were always on missions together and such. When he died, we were facing the Police again, and I was on the ground with a couple broken bones. I tried to help, but I could do nothing. Fuck, that was terrible," Gavin said, his own voice trembling.

"I'm sorry," Gavin said quietly. "I can go if you'd like. For whatever my opinion counts, your brother was a great man."
Gavin nodded and took a seat on the counter. "What do you want to know about your brother after he joined the Resistance?"

"So, one time, he met this girl, Molly, her name was," Gavin began, embarking on a tale of Lucas's first girlfriend since joining the Resistance and how she was a bit psycho and a Council Spy, and how they had figured it out and then gotten rid of her.

Gavin then told a couple more stories, this time of successful Resistance missions. He carefully omitted everything his ex did, of course.

Tyler listens carefully, wanting to know every last thing about what had happened after her brother had left her.
((Honestly, I had been wondering that, so sure! I had decided Gavin at least liked him. =) Perhaps this ex that is stalking him or whatnot presently is kind of someone he used as kind of a rebound boyfriend as he was recovering from Lucas's death?))
Gavin's voice caught a couple times, and a couple tears fell from his eyes as he began to tell the story of how they had gotten together.

Gavin nodded, not quite trusting himself to speak.
"Closer," he murmured when he had regained control of himself.
"We were more than friends," Gavin admitted, hiding his face.
Gavin nodded, heat rising up his neck.
"We were together over a year," Gavin said, smiling faintly.
Gavin nodded. "Fuck, yeah," he agreed, trying to hold in his tears.
"Yeah, me too," Gavin said with a sigh.
