I actually wanted them to know each other more then grew to love. She could have taught him many things about the country, her culture, and his magic. But nope, Maas killed her for Cee-Cee's development. Now we will never know.

I really wish Nehimia didn't die... Not the way she did anyway :'(
She ruined everything with Chaol and Celaena and Arggghhh!!! I know that her death set up the whole storyline for the end of CoM and Hof, but still!!!

But I think Nehemia and Dorian would have made a great couple! Too bad we wont get to find out now... :-/

Blake Farron Yeah, I was thinking to myself 'man, Nehemia and Dorian seem pretty darn cute, I ship them!' Then suddenly she died...

Same with Sorshca. I wasn't a fan of the insta romance, but I was like 'Aw, Dorian has found someone!' Then suddenly she died...

Basically I'm not pairing Dorian with ANYONE because they will suddenly die

So no Dorian and Celaena. Nope nope nopity nope

Yea the whole time Dorian was with Sorshca I was really nervous cause I knew something bad was gonna end up happening. She was too random of a character. Didn't trust it for a minute lol

message 7: by Blake (new)

Blake Farron Hmmm. But I don't mourn for her, she wasn't an interesting character. I cried at when Dorian scrambled for her, I feel mortified for him, but for her? Nah, Nehemia was better

Yeah, her death was pretty anticlimatic for me too - I didn't really invest much interest in her character, so I didn't mourn her that much to be honest.

I didn't care about her nor did I feel sorry for her death--yes, I'm a cold, wicked lady--since it was a cheap plot-device for Dorian's development.

I'm just ashamed that we didn't get to see Dorian develop HIS powers. That's what I hoping to read in HoF but nope. I mean think about it. Imagine all the cool stuff he could have done. To see both the Heir of Fire and the Heir of Ice training... *EPICNESS* He could have been the male version of Elsa--DO YOU KNOW HOW COOL THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN?

Oh no. No cool interesting plot about him accepting who he is and embrace his powers. No. He got sappy romance that wasn't, in my opinion, necessary to his plot.

Now he's not even a character anymore, just a pawn--another plot device.

Basically you want him to be Jack Frost?

Ergh, after a slightly disappointing storyline in Crown of Midnight I was hoping for a more interesting one this time round. Nope, it was boring, real boring. That's why I'm finding it really hard to stick up for Dorian in anything, because he's got nothing for him.

No. I prefer Loki, since he is, indeed an Ice giant if you know Norse Mythology.

It's like Maas just said f*ck him. Because when she posted online back in her fictionpress days. Cee-Cee and Dorian where having the freaky times and she admitted she loved him in the beginning when she left for Erila. I don't know what she's going to do now. Oh well, I guess I have to wait.

Ah, fair one. I guess Dorian has dark hair too, so he kinda fits looks wide too. Anyone up to Tom Hiddleston playing Dorian? Or is he too British?

But yeah, I headed Celeana and Dorian got together originally, but now Chaol has the limelight. I guess it's so she can keep the fans guessing as to what's gonna happen. Change the story up a bit by swapping love interests so it's different enough, but not too much so it's the same story the original readers loved.

Rose (mangobookss) I actually shipped them, when she was talking to him at the ball all the way to, well, you know:(

message 15: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Yeah come to think of it they would've been a nice couple.

Tristen (bo0kenthusiast) I'm surprised that this discussion is still active....

imashamedofmyoldreviews (pleasedontjudgeme_ichanged) I never really shipped them coz they didn't show any chemistry (according to me) and the only meaningful interaction they had was when Dorian's powers activated. Dorian was just curious what she did, but didn't like her romantically. They may have been compatible, though I was not waiting for that to be proven, but they talked and BANG! Nehemia is dead. That's what happened from my perspective.
