John (jfcannon) | 30 comments I have some books in "my books" that I haven't read, yet they are listed in my "read" bookshelf. I can't figure out how to remove them from the "read" bookshelf. How do I do it?

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 2400 comments John,

If you want them on your to-read shelf, if you have a bunch of them, the quickest way is to go to your read shelf in shelves, then go to edit view, then click the boxes in the ones you've not yet read, and from the pull down menu select to-read and save. If a book is on your to-read or currently reading shelves, it won't be in your read shelf.

You can also make up a new exclusive shelf by clicking edit at the end of your shelves and making a new shelf that you click as exclusive and put those books on that one.

Is that clear enough? I hope so.

Oh, and one book at a time, from the book page, go to edit at the end of the list of the shelf/shelves the book is on and add to-read or currently reading. Doing that will also take that book off your read shelf.

John (jfcannon) | 30 comments Lisa, thank you, thank you. It worked just as you said. The "exclusive" option is just what I needed, as well as the way to handle a bunch of books at once.

Kelly | 2 comments Yes, thanks Lisa! I wasn't even aware that the "exclusive" feature existed - is it fairly new? And is there a place where new features (such as the "spoilers alert") are posted? It's great to know about developments like these...

Jessica Haider (jessicahaider) | 17 comments There is a release notes topic in the GoodReads Feedback group where they list new features as they release them.

Louise Laermann | 1 comments You can also just go to the books details and then click on the green batch under the cover that says "read", then you get the option to "unread"

This is not a Librarians Group issue, but one for the Feedback Group. Librarians can help with issues pertaining to specific book records or most related issues, but have no control over general site functionality or related issues.

Closing thread.
