OK. I am almost done with Shantaram but then I gotta start The Girl who Played with Fire and THEN I will start Stiff. It is also waiting at the library for me. Normally I would read the smaller book first (like Stiff) but I got 2 weeks to read Larsson's book.

I will read it before September ends though!

I'm awesoMEGAN! (missesmh) | 161 comments I just picked up Stiff last night. Looks like it is going to be an quick read. I will probably start it this weekend.

O0o0oo Good Luck Megan. Let us know what you think. I am going to pick up my copy at the library later today but I am not going to start it until mid-week.

*crossing fingers*

I'm awesoMEGAN! (missesmh) | 161 comments is it weird that I am eating black bean soup as I start to read Stiff and now my soup doesn't seem as appetizing as it began.......lol

I'm awesoMEGAN! (missesmh) | 161 comments I don't like this at all! I almost want to donate my body to cadaverNESS just so I don't have to read it anymore!

UH OH!!! I have yet to read it and now I am alittle nervous...

I'm awesoMEGAN! (missesmh) | 161 comments It is almost like a thesis on Cadavers with opinionated footnotes and too many references to reference books that the writer has read. It doesn't help that I had it in my head that this would be fictional short stories about how the cadaver feels while being experimented on. Don't ask my why I though that. LOL.

You are not the first person who said that. JAnother person from this group also mentioned to me that she thought it was going to be fiction. She said it had some humor to it though. I don't know. I think I will just give it a try and see how far I get.

I alsways wanted to donate my body to Science when I die and I think that this book just made me want to do it more. I want to help people in the future even if that means that they throw my body into a wall or leave me in a field.

I know it sounds gruesome but it's worth it, I'm sure. What do I care? I'm dead!

I'm awesoMEGAN! (missesmh) | 161 comments After reading the organ donation chapter, I kinda felt the same way. I told my husband that i am seriously thinking about becoming an organ donor.
Not that I want my body to be a cadaver for medical students but to possibly save a few lives for some organs I am not going to need on the other side. I think that will be cool. If I got anything out of this book - it is that.

Colleen (nightoleander) | 676 comments I liked the whole book except the one on heads. The gruesome animal experiments is what got me.

As for my remains, I really liked that last chapter where you can have your body broken down and a tree planted in your honor and your remains are used to nourish the plant. I hope that comes over to America by the time I kick the bucket.

Yeah that does sounds good too!

As for the animals, yeah the two headed dog kinds freaked me out and I really haven't quite stop thinking about it.
