I pretty much agree with your comments above. Which brings me to the question of how the book club list was generated? I have to doubt the list if Ulysses was #1!

I completely agree. And just think if this is number 1, all other books must be worse, right?

But in all honesty, I can see why it was important for the time. I don't agree with it being one of the best books of all time, but in the post-modernism category, sure it can be the best all it wants. I am just not a fan of post-modernism apparently. hopefully Swann's way will be more enjoyable and discussion provoking.

Unless you all want to have an in-depth discussion of the chapter told in the outhouse! Top notch literature, that!!
