It is a historical romance set in the Roman period. A troop of Roman soldiers get captured by a tribe. The tribe enslave the soldiers to make up for their lost loved ones who died because of the Romans. The leader of the soldiers is given to a woman who's husband was killed. She is pregnant, but not by her dead husband but by some roman solider who raped her. The new solider helps her around the farm and they fall in love. It turns out that the soldiers were captured on purpose so the Romans can find out about their defenses. But the soldiers were so well treated they cannot betray their masters.
