Guy Vestal  - Counter Culture Critic (DaddyRose) 1. Who is Sherry Gammon anyways? I am a mom of six by day/writer by night. Family is the most important thing to me. I love writing also. I love to touch peoples lives and try to make it better in some small way. Here is my official bio:Sherry and her wonderfully supportive husband, currently call Upstate New York home, which is also the setting for her novels. It is where they are raising their family. Sherry has a degree in Legal Assisting, and served as a medical technician in the Air Force. She and her husband worked in foster care for a number of years, from which they adopted their youngest son. She has worked in the education system for a number of years, and is currently lucky enough to be teaching teenage girls, ages 12-18. She has lived in Michigan, California, Utah, Texas, Pennsylvania, and the beautiful, but over-taxed state of New York where she has spent the last twelve years, and now considers home. It is where she spends her nights writing instead of sleeping :}

2. Why this book? Where did it come from? I was writing a totally different story when this book blindsided me and demanded I write it. Maggie is loosely based on 2 girls I knew growing up. I drew on their heartaches and victories to create Maggie. The drug stuff was drawn from the news.

3. Were you a writer in your youth? Did you keep that secret journal? I started writing as a child. I’d gone through a tragic event and wasn’t coping well. One day I wrote a poem about what I was feeling as was amazed at how good it felt to write things down. That was the beginning of my writing career.

4. What is in the works for the future? I am working on a story now about a football player and a girl. Each have demons that are stopping them from finding love.

5. In the voice of your main character, tell people why they should read the book(s)? Maggie: Unlovable is about life. Despite being faced with many challenges, I knew that it was important to never give up. With the help of family aka my friends, I was able to come out victorious. I’m a fighter because of it. I know I can take whatever life dishes out to me. Besides, who doesn’t want to read about my hottie man Seth! I mean seriously, the guy can cook..and kiss ;}

6. Did you know when you started Unlovable that it would be a trilogy or did it just grow as your wrote? No, Unlovable was a stand alone novel at first. In fact, Booker died protecting Maggie at the very beginning in the original story! As I continued to write the book, Cole and Booker came alive in my mind and I decided to turn it into a trilogy! I’m glad I did. I enjoyed getting to know them ;}

7. How do you name your characters? Names :’( I hate finding names. I scanned list after list until I found the ones I liked. Maggie’s name was Kate for most of the book until I changed it after many edits. Ha ha! Bad guy names were easy. I named them after people I don’t like ;)

Thank you so very much for allowing me to be part of your book club! What an honor! I know you have many authors/stories to choose from and I’m grateful you chose mine!
