Sabrina was not shocked at what she saw in the Insane Asylum. Sure, not all of the patients were actually insane. The Resistance had had its suspicions about that for ages, after all. Still, the sight of the asylum just made her stomach churn. The conditions were worse than she had thought. Then again, she had never spent much time in the Outskirts, which as a whole were not that fantastic in condition. She then proceeded down the corridor in which Gwendolyn was in. She bowed her head and bit her lip as she passed through the screams and groans.

Gwendolyn pressed her lips together until they were pale as she heard the walking get closer to her room. She snuggled her knees closer to her head. Since she'd been here, she'd had at least 17 shots, and she hadn't even been here a week. Her body was in complete pain and shock. That was the only reason why she hadn't broken out yet. As the walking grew louder, her heart rate grew faster. It wasn't like her to get scared, so she straightened up a bit just to, feigning confidence to seem a little tougher than she felt.
Sabrina knew that it could be her in one of these cells easily. After all, she was a member of the Resistance and one of the more legal of the bunch. Shuddering, she stopped by one of the cells. The person inside seemed braver yet somehow more miserable than most of her fellows. Looking around to look at the security cameras -- none of which appeared to be active in the area -- she decided to take her chances. "Hello?" she whispered to the girl inside the cell. Worrying her lower lip, she glanced around the corridor. Still no one else there besides the other patients.
Gwendolyn was slightly startled. No one ever said anything before they came in. It was almost as if she was asking permission. She wasn't sure if it was the cold air passing through the vents, but a cold chill ran down her spine. "What do you want?" Gwendolyn spoke harshly and slowly, so her voice wouldn't crack from the fear that was tightening in her throat. From the inside of the cell, she couldn't see who stood at her door, only hear. But from what she heard, it sounded like a female.
Sabrina grimaced. In part, the action was because of the people's circumstances, and the other part was because the girl seemed to think her to be one of the Council Members. Se knelt down before the cell. "My name is Sabrina," she told Gwendolyn. "I'm not here to give you medicine or anything. Actually, I probably shouldn't be speaking to a patient." She grimaced. "It's worse in here than we thought. . . ." She bit her lips and glanced around again.
Gwendolyn scowled at the door. "Gwendolyn," She muttered, a small smirk forming on her lips. "And yes, you probably shouldn't be. Especially without any guards watching over you." Gwendolyn let out a delirious giggle. "Not very smart, now is it?" She pressed, wagging her index finger mockingly, the sneer on her face growing.
"So you would rather stay here with no sane human contact?" Sabrina asked Gwendolyn. She raised her eyebrow at the other girl. She figured saying what she did would get Gwendolyn to be at least a little nicer or at least quiet her down for a moment. She realized she still hadn't told her name to the girl in the cell (or at least she thought she hadn't), but she also decided that it would be better for her to wait until she had seen Gwendolyn's reaction to her former statement.
"I'm okay with it," Gwendolyn snapped. "People are all the same, no one is ever sane. It's always about power or money; this is where you end up if you have neither." She mumbled with a mocking grin. "You think you're trying to help, but it's impossible. There's always going to be someone out there who will rebel. That's where I come in." She laughed slyly.
"I was here because I honestly want to help people," Sabrina told Gwendolyn. "I was going to help you out of this place, but if you don't want my help, then fine. I'll go save someone more willing." Sabrina shrugged, trying her best nonchalant look. In truth, it killed her to threaten that, but she saw no other way.
Gwendolyn looked down, twiddling with her fingers. "No, wait!" She hesitated. "I want to get out... what do you want me to do?" She asked adding a forced smile, as she tried her best to sound grateful. She felt so helpless being locked behind the cage, and she wanted to get out as soon as possible.
Sabrina nodded slowly. "Alright then," she answered. Folding her arms across her chest, she added, "I'm going to need you to tell me how to pick a lock." Sure, Sabrina had grown up in the rough part of town, but her life had been gentle. She never had had need of such a skill, and if she did, then that was Sasha's territory. She pulled out the equipment that Sasha had told her she would need.
"Really?" She questioned, laughing loudly. "Your life must've been lollipops and rainbows if you don't know how to pick a lock," She giggled, mocking her. "You have to turn the item in the lock until your hear a click." She felt exhilarated, now realizing how close she was to getting out, she felt like dancing.
Sabrina laughed. "Well, I'm not about to consider that a bad thing, am I? Little hardship's good for me." She thought for a second. "Don't think I've ever really had a lollipop though." She offered Gwendolyn a small smile as she did exactly as the other woman said. The lock clicked open, and Sabrina straightened slightly. A pleased smile formed on her lips. "Well, are you coming or not?"
