wow. the life of an indie author. it must be nice to have a deadline and then just decide, "you know what, I want to work on the something else." I'm all for indie authors, but this is one reason why I like works from signed authors- I can pretty much count on them to be released when they say they will be released because "Boss Man" makes sure that this happens. There is a business side to books, and when you promise readers something and then don't deliver, it is going to hurt something- sales, review ratings, readers... I think a lot of indie authors need to take some classes in business because when you say there is a release date...extend it... then decide you know what- I want to work on something else because it's "speaking to me" more, there is going to be some kickback. just saying. PS- I understand writing is an art form, but most artist have deadlines too (design, fashion, singers, etc) indie authors are not some artist outlier.
Let me get this straight about the release date... First it was July 2014. Then September 25, 2014. THEN January 20, 2015. The book is written, the cover is made (yummy), we get some teasers... and NOW "Slider has been put on the back burner with no release given." And the reason for this is "she feels hitchhiker is more on her mind and can be wrote more than slider and doesn't want to do slider half ass." WOMAN, you put Slider teasers OUT?!?!?! For what if there's no release date?! That's just... MEAN and unprofessional from reader's point of view (well, mine anyway). Slowly losing respect for her right now, sadly, because I loved the 1st book.
This is very frustrating and disappointing. I'm just going to have to walk away from the series and author altogether. I understand wanting to keep your fan base interested, but making empty promises is not the way.
I tried to contact her over a year ago to have her as a feature author on my blog with no response. I gave up attempts after a few months. I really loved the first one (Bender) and seeing as how we live in the same area in Texas I tried to support her as a peer and as a fan to no avail. This un-release is enough for me to finally give up on this author. Sad, I almost never turn away from something or someone I believe in.

She is working on another book Hitchhiker.
